[Q] should i update to ics? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi....i have the 0% battery problem on my xperia arc and i want to update it to ics, but i havent been able to find any kernel which fixes this problem what should i do?

I have tested it and I finally decided that staying at 2.3.4. modded to 2.3.7. by myself

so will i be able to update to ics when doom kernel for ics 4.0.4 with the fix for battery issue comes out ?because now if i officially update to ics it shuts down with the 0 battery problem .......

dont . It drains battery like hell !!!!

ICS is good but very good with tweak.
Many rom provide many tweak.
Upgrade to ICS and install a ROM like JJHybrid rom and MooDeD rom or others.
With MooDeD rom, my battery can last in 2 day with normal usage.

Best ICS Rom with best battery backup?

Hello all,
We all know that we hv so many custom ics roms for Arc but can someone tell me d best ICS Rom with d best kernel because I hv tried some of the roms n they lag horribly n hv a very bad battery drain. I even used d official ICS 4.0.4 but it too has many problems. So everytime I think of trying ICS, I had to come back to arconium because it is by far d best GB rom. Plz help me.. Thanks
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
I'm using supervenoms AOKP rom with sirkay's kernel. Must be the fastest and most responsive rom I've used, sirkay's kernel improves battery life but you'll be lucky with average usage to get over 14 hours.

[Q] how to update to ics with the 0% battery issue?

hi i have the 0% battery issue on my phone, and i am currently running on 2.3 gingerbread with doomkernel which has an inbuilt patch for this issue and now that the official update for arc has come what should i do to update to ics without this problem?

[Q] which rom is the best ?

hi everyone!
I want to root and install a new rom on my friend's Xperia Arc ...
but I wanted to know which ROM is the best for high score benchmarks(like antutu) and the stabliest for the everyday use...
My option one is the JJ's HYBRID ROM v3.1
the 2nd Cyanogenmod nightly
the 3rd cyanogenmod stable...
if a better rom is not on the list please tell me
And can i overclock with the stock kernel of the stock ics ?
Cheers...
Arconium ICS V2.0 with Aroma installer
Mooded ICS 100.0 by Chaosfirzen
you need to root and unlock the bootloader... why would you have CM nightly 2nd and CM stable 3rd? and you can overclock the stock kernel but faliure can happen so use a custom kernel for OC
Arconium 4.0 ICS
CM7.2-Stable
heres a whole selection to choose from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653188
the best rom i would suggest is ka21 in terms of battery life while in idle mode, it gives me as low as 0.2 % battery loss per hour(measured using battery drain from play store). it is very diffrent and even has jellybean mod.
if you would want to overclock the stock kernel then use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673476 . if u have an unlocked bootloader, you can even flash custom kernels. note that an unlocked bootloader CAN be relocked.
for me its JJ's HYBRID ROM v3.1 which is good for everyday use.
UI wise for me its better looking with the original look and feel of the android 4, and usable than others.
But it all depends on personal preference.
I used every moded rom for xperia arc and i stayed with stock 4.0.4 with few modification (mainly Xperia S app, any modified sustemUI) and obviously DooMKernel chaos v5
With every moded rom I have some problems (Lockscreen stuck for few minutes <<i cant unlock phone>> , CM9 camera app sux, on JJ sometimes i cant answer the phone, ChaosFriZen eat battery in less than one day) Maybe my phone is "broke" but with stock rom I have no problems...
Arconium 4 with few files from KA21(SemcDlna.apk) and Xperia S apps
and KTG kernel
I tried Mooded but is full of bugs and not as fast as arconium

[Q] Super Jelly Bean 3.0 draining out battery too much

Hi,
I installed super jelly bean 3.0 on my xperia arc s, everything is working fine except for high battery drain ... Had turned off data traffic, wifi, bluetooth, gps etc ( killed all background processes) still it wouldn't last for a day ( even i had put in silent mode ) ... So should i switch back to sony stock ICS os or any custom rom which is stable that i can put ?

Hi !
Which Kernel do you use with SuperJellyBean ??
You can try RacingBean! Battery drain is very good but there are many ROMs for The Arc so try the over because i don't know the battery drain of all ROM !! Choose the ROM who is perfect for you !

I've used Arc Fusion v5.4 kernel... So i've to flash RacingBean kernel to my arc s and install super jelly bean and gapps right ? Is that what you meant ?

Since there is no actual JB ROM is really well-developed for Xperia Arc/S
I suggest you use ICS for now and wait till CM 10 is stable.
I am using Xperia Ultimate HD 3.0.2
It is very like a stock one with lots of features from SONY. However it's much smoother and faster. (even more than CM 9.1)

No, choose an other ROM as SuperJB ! Try to reflash stock firmware and then reflash Arcfusion 5.4

Thanks for the suggestion, shall try it out :good:
My experience is the battery life on superJB is far more superior compared with any ICS.
It could be an app you are using.
But of course this sort of debate isnt allowed!
Maybe you should try 4?
My battery life can last 2 days with moderate use (only switching on wifi and such when required)
I also use Greenify to stop apps from running in the background when the screen is off

Why don't you try fusion 5.4 with SJB 4.0
I went to sleep with my battery at 3%, slept 8 hours, and it was still at 3%
I manage to get a day and a half usage out of it :/ Have you tried taking of auto sync in data usage menu?
