Windows Phone Marketplace is now available in 13 more countriesBy Michelle Ruhfass on Wednesday March 28, 2012 0 Comments
Microsoft is opening its Windows Phone Marketplace app store to 13 new countries. The new countries where the Marketplace is now available are Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela. A total of 54 countries are now able to download apps, games, and music for their Windows Phone smartphones. The news comes on the heels of the launch of the Windows Phone powered Nokia Lumia 800c for China, a CDMA variant of the Lumia 800 specifically built for the Chinese market.
source: Microsoft
And soon it will add also UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Israel, Thailand, and Vietnam, bringing a total of 63 countries.
Wow, I didn't know it was unusable here in Venezuela. Ate there a lot of places where it is unavailable? Or just tiny countries?

..y, and they blame us for piracy, but dot give a chance to buy a product hehehe..i dont mind at all xD
So now i can finally investigate how In gods name do I put a custom ROM on my phone, and prepare for the hard reset.
Good thing about the SMS backup app, installing all the apps again will be no problem, since I don't have that many installed in the first place, but loosing all my conversations would be unfortunate.

Nemaš sreće susjed!
i live in Romania and the apps showed up in Marketplace using romanian currency.
But if i try to buy an app and register my debit card it isn't accepted. It's possible that only Visa cards are accepted and not Visa Electron?. When it asks you what type of card you have the options seem to be Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Quite a shame if Visa Electron won't be accepted.
Hopefully it's just a temporary problem with their system since the marketplace just opened. There are also very few apps compared to US or UK, not even basic apps like twitter isn't in the market.
when is the games & music marketplace coming to India?!
As long as they don't cut off the marketplace to Iran, im happy with it. no need for a marketplace for iran.
You know, iTunes and Android market won't allow iranian's to download app from them (ofc we have our own ways (proxy ))
Marketplace in new region EU-Slovenia
The first frustrated attempt in Slovenia
HTC Mozart
I create a new Windows Live Mail, I reset Windows Phone 7, I sign up with a new email and set the region to Slovenia. I go to the marketplace, where my cell phone asking me for the region. I choose again to Slovenia and I'm in.
Marketplace opens with 0.1% of all applications and games. You don´t have Xbox games, music and 99% of nothing else. I don´t have Skype, Ask Ziggy, I'm a WP7, appHTC Hub, SLOWP7APPS, good games, but unfortunately just crap.
What an incredible limited offer
Developers have to make theirs app available in the new countries manually.

Make sure you have the network payment setting enabled on your Visa Electron. I had to manually enable that setting from my netbank, I live in Finland though, but I don't see why it would be different in your country.
My card is fine, i use it for online transactions pretty often and never had troubles, it just seems that microsoft only accepts visa, mastercard or american express. No visa electron accepted.

Romania WP Marketplace
@Blond86 I have the same problem, but I guess it will be fixed until the April the 20th when the Lumia will be officially ready to be sold. There is something else, the Nokia Collection its not in the marketplace (did you noticed this or its just me?). Anyone knows something about Xbox Live and Zune for Romania? Have a nice day all.
LE: Visa Electron works for Romanian Windows Phone Market!
My Visa Electron works fine.I just payed for 2 apps with it.Maybe it's your bank not the card.
Any idea when will the Israeli marketplace open?

type *#1234# in your dialer.
IIRC, first code is your PDA code, second is your modem, the third is your CSC code indicating the sales region of your phone. Check out the three three letters following the number 7100, then look up at this page, it indicates the region of your phone. Unless someone flashed your phone with different firmware, this is the most reliable way.
In the case someone might have flashed your phone, someone else have to chime in and tell us how to check the original region your phone comes from using IMEI number
Even if i have format and hv changed the rom?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
That's what I was saying, if the ROM has been changed, it's a hard call.
Please help me on this guys i hv formated my phone and installed a custom rom, i only hv thr serial number and the imei number, all i wany is to know from where this comes from.witch region
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Well this is funny. The 3 letter right after 7100 on CSC line says UUB. That is not on the on the page saberzaid provided...
lol i dont mean this, what i mean is i want to know the orginal regin of my phone, cuz i have format it and i hv installed custom rom and i cant know the orginal region now, so i want to know how, i hv the serial num and the imie num can i know the orginal region of my phone?

I've received mine from newegg today also. I have OZS ... I guess it's China region. Weird symbols, no single word in English... It took me 30 mins to get thru set up process, almost learned some Chinese then finally changed the language... The phone looks flawless but the box was opened before.. They used some other stickers on top of original samsung sticker to seal it back.. I am disappointed in Newegg. Was your box opened too? I don't know what to do now, should I send it back for an exchange or refund? Also, does it matter where the phone was made?..

I was just gonna reply to OP this, before see your post. I think it doesn't really matter, hardware is all the same. Search around, flash some ROM from other region, change some CSC, all the features you want should be in there. I believe that Newegg was selling Note 2 really cheap (like $580 or something) because they got Hong Kong version or something. These phones are selling dirt cheap in China. There are different versions in China like Europe, Hong Kong, Latin America, etc. Prices vary because of the warranty. Hong Kong version is warranted in mainland China, so it is being pricier compared to Euro and Latin America versions. I think Euro and L.America version is like $550/$560 in China right now, so when i see Newegg sell their phone at $580, instantly i thought they must've imported from China!
Btw, if there is Chinese in your phone, it's more likely HK version as Mainland China hasn't got this phone yet.

Yea, I got it for $580 while it was on sale at newegg. Why would they open the box? Hopefully, just to change the China power plug to U.S. type plug...?
So, you think there is no difference in the hardware quality and materials they used? Isn't China known for bad quality products? Also, why do they sell other versions of Note II (L.America and Europe) in China if they got Hong Kong version. Do you know if there is a price difference between all those versions that they have? Good thing that I got 90 days return policy on the phone.

A lot of questions lol
I have the same obsession as you do, that's why i paid my premium and bought from a seller on Amazon that I made sure with, that their stocks are all Europe and not open.
As to why there are diff version in China, same reason as it is in America (well, several months ago in America)--because it is not officially released and people buy imports. Market is a chaos in China though. Unlike how we can import from Europe on Amazon, people traffic phones into China (illegally, to avoid tax or take-away by customs). So many people open box and separately bring the phone and the packaging separately into mainland China. Then, becuz of this, there comes another variation: the "version" that the S/N on box does not match the phone's S/N. This happens more to the EU version though, not on HK version, because it's a lot easier to bring the seal-packaged phone into Mainland from HK than from Europe or other regions. If you care to know, HK is under reign of Mainland China and the custom-free entry/exit was allowed several years ago. People bring HK version back to Mainland and sell as-is at higher price tag, while EU version often has to be opened and brought into mainland with phone/box separated, i.e. open box, which caused the lower price tags on these versions.
I'm not creating any panic or worries here, but if your phone was in Chinese, it's actually a good thing cuz you most likely got HK version and it was newegg that opened the box. Much better than those EU and other versions that were opened by somebody else. Even if you got (unlikely) open-box EU and other versions, it's fine as long as S/N on phone matches package S/N. Or, it's even better for some people (like me) because it's EU version after all. i dont know why, but it's just my preference lol.
Overall, no worries, if the phone works problem free, why worry so much? This is from logic perspective though, with any obsession/emotional thinking taken out of the way :cyclops:
As to the quality, check where your phone is made. Even if it's made in China (or maybe Cambodia lol) i think it is still fine. I know Apple quality is no longer top-notch these days, but compare MBA to Acer ultrabooks, both made in China, MBA triumphs Acer in quality. It all comes down to the quality control, right?
Take your time to enjoy the device instead of worrying about it
Cheers

Of course, when QC is limited or uneffective, Chinese quality is definitely no comparison to GERMAN quality

That's what i'm saying, not, but that's what I meant lol
Flash a ROM and there's no difference as long as you don't experience any problem.
Samsung also did good jobs because they now include more supported language (both menu and input method) at least in their European ROM
When i first got my Note 2 i wasn't impressed much because i didn't like the look more than Note1, also because dpi (or ppi) can't be changed w/o many issues on this phone. I liked 240ppi on my Note 1 VERY VERY MUCH. However, after fiddling around with for less than an hour, boom, my Note 1 is forgotten. It's got so many features out of box that I really didn't come up with many things to mod and improve, so I am now SEARCHING for anything that I can do to improve the device, hah.
Either way, enjoy the phone!

None of the offers for Lumia 950/XL are available in my country but I used an old Swedish SIM card I used last year and I got codes for both the Display Dock and Office 365 for my Lumia 950XL purchased in Romania. Sweet, thanks for the SIM card tip.
Now I wonder if they'd ship the display dock from the swedish MS store to my country or should I use an address from Sweden to have it shipped.

As object says, i don't know exactly which country will arrive but i'm interested in SamsungPay that in some countries hasn't been released

What is your idea ? IMHO whichever country code you flash if SamsungPay is not present in your country - it will not work

This is interesting question. When phone comes from official distribution in Italy it should work that way.
In general: Samsung pay or Google pay have no bank systems. The work with cooperation with some local (i.e. : Italian, Polish ) bank. Surely different bank in every country. So it is rather not a technical problem to have Samsung pay in any country but administrative.
Hi there,
As a Samsung China fan, I know a lot about chinese version Samsung phones ; however I live in France so I also know a lot about the most common version of Samsung phones which are the international variants.
So, let's talk about chinese version Note10+ which has some pretty cool features that we can find nowhere else (btw I will get one in december when I go back to China so this thread is only about specs)
In China, Samsung only provides Note10+ 5G version, the model number is SM-N9760 which is a snapdragon variant. You may think that it is just the same as US version Note10+ 5G with a different software, but it is not exactly the case :
First thing is 9760 is the only Note10+ 5G in the world with dual sim card support. Second is that since Galaxy S10 series, Samsung flagships sold in China are the only in the world that support L1+L5 dualband GPS and 9760 is no exception.
In the box, Samsung provides a transparent case and a 6-month screen replacement reduction (only usable in china)
On software side, 9760 is also different from international version as the CSC it runs (CHC) has many features you may want to use even elsewhere than in China ; let me talk about the new additionnal features on 9760 (I will make another post about the CHC software improvements later) :
Bixby gets a new function exclusive to China that is Bixby Touch (but I have to test it to know if it only works in Chinese or if it is available in other languages) : you just have to long press on any screen to get shortcuts to related apps or services : for example, if someone send you a message with an address, a long press will let you open the maps app directly from there without having to copy/paste or doing any other action.
Samsung Pay gets a new smart door card function, which can let user access their building with just their smartphone.
Of course, it has all the other features from CHC rom that I'll detail on a later post.
And for those who want to know about the occidental services that are also supported, I also have the answer :
Google Play services are preinstalled ; by default, they're not activated but to get Google apps, you just need to download a play store apk and it will work just fine.
Instagram mode works : I tried it on a smaller version Note 10 in China, you just have to install Instagram and clear camera data and it will work just as on international version.
You get your local Galaxy Store because the phone region is defined by your sim card.
However, some features won't work or not completely : for example, Samsung Health will only sync if you have a chinese samsung account and you won't be able to compete with people using non-chinese Samsung Health app
I do NOT know if Samsung Pay works with non chinese cards but I will try it when I get 9760.
You cannot get the "Secure Wifi" feature as well as international version of smart call.
Finally there is no ROM you can flash because 9760 is actually a Chinese-exclusive variant (but that may change if Taiwan gets 5G model)
Personnally I think Chinese Note10+ 5G is the best variant you can find ;
Snapdragon 855, L1+L5 dual-band GPS, Dual-SIM, some cool exclusive features and the ability to use all the features we already use and love... for a cheaper price tag as it is sold in China cheaper than 4G variants in Europe...
Hello, also from France and currently in China I have bought the sm-n9760 in a Samsung shop in Shanghai. So I'm able to answer/confirm some infos there.
First, yes it comes with Google services pre installed, under a VPN I transfered through smart switch my data's and so on (containing my needed VPN apk) on this phone and then added through settings Samsung and Google accounts (while connected to my VPN). Google chrome and calendar couldn't be transfered by smart switch and play store wasn't installed. Downloaded play store apk with Firefox. All worked fine and then I used the play store to install chrome and agenda, all syncing and working without flaw.
Yes it is 5g dual SIM and less expensive than other variants at least the the European ones (paid 7999 RMB = 1040 euros and got a free jbl Bluetooth speaker sold normally at 800 RMB = 104 €)
It has bixby touch as said and it works in your language set in your settings. French for me then.
It does come with a well made silicone case and a factory applied plastic screen protector.
I can also confirm for the 6 month screen replacement and the whole warranty is valid in mainland China only. So if you have any problem not concerning the screen make it repaired in your country and for the screen ship to China. (Advice from the Samsung employee in the shop).
There is a setting about the smart building function but haven't tried it out. Also the Samsung employee told me that Samsung pay will only work with Chinese card. Considering that they use a different card system (not Visa or MasterCard but union pay which exists only in China) I assume it is true.
I don't use Instagram so no info on that.
I have been able to uninstall every Chinese pre installed apps just like I uninstall any app without problem.
No info on Samsung health for now. I'm still in China and don't compete with others. Back in France in a week so more infos later.
I'll give a look for the GPS on the spec sheet on Samsung website for this maybe.
Their 5g version support band that is intended for the French market (3500 MHz). But well no real deployed 5g in France before 2022. For now 350 antennas deployed in France by all operators (including 300 by one only) whereas in China, China mobile alone have deployed 200 000 and is just starting it's network. Also China mobile offered me 100 GB on 5g just to try. Thanks to them as I just paid a 100 RMB (13 €) prepaid sim card for 2 months.
I also have an "hongbao accelerator" as setting option but haven't gave a look yet.

My Chinese friend told me that Galaxy store was previously banned and that she had to download apk straight from various sites and therefore got quite a lot of viruses and ****. After that she bought Apple for long and now she hesitate to buy Huawei to support the national brand. However now the Galaxy store 8s no longer banned but it seems way more empty than appgallery of Huawei (had a Chinese honor phone before).
It may not be the only reason but it is the one I've been given.

So Samsung is basically killed by China government. China only allow local developers' apps available in phone. If no China developers create apps for galaxy store, no one will buy Samsung phone.
Exactly same thing happened to Huawei now when US banned Huawei from using Google play.

Hey, thanks for the answer
Just wondering, does it have the native radio app ?
Too bad Samsung Pay doesn't work (but I will still get a try ), fortunately Google Pay is still available
The dual band GPS is not mentioned in the spec sheet but if I remember it was mentioned in S10 Chinese unpacked
Apart from the Hongbao accelerator you also have many features such as fingerprint lock and some exclusive apps like the Samsung assistant that basically replace every app you use in your daily life
I hope the 5G deployment won't be too slow in France but even if not I will be happy with chinese version as even without 5G, it brings a lot more for cheaper price.

I don't think so, Galaxy Store was already available when Samsung had a quite respectable market share in China. The store has every popular app Chinese users usually install ; the main problems for Samsung in China is Note 7, Huawei and aggressive competition from Chinese companies...

There are three main reasons for Samsung poor market share in China :
First is Note 7, even today, when people talk about Samsung, people instantly think about explosion
Second is an agressive competition from Chinese brands : they deliver lots of innovative products for a very low price... It's almost always the same, Snapdragon 855, triple camera setup with IMX586 and Samsung Amoled display packed into a metal frame and glass back with gradient color, at the lowest price possible and with the fastest charge possible.
The thing is Samsung never plays with specs sheets, but Chinese customers care most about high numbers ; when they see Note10+ has "only" a 12MP camera, they will think it's worse than a budget phone having a 32MP camera...
And remember foreign compagnies have to pay more taxes for their products so Samsung phones are a lot more expensive than chinese phones, even though they are cheaper than the rest of the world
The last thing is Samsung has a bad image because of Note7 and because of Huawei... Huawei has very good public relations with Chinese government, so when they have a bad buzz it is almost always eliminated from weibo in the shortest time, whereas when Samsung has a bad buzz such as Galaxy Fold issues or fingerprint scanner issues, it will immediatly become #1 in trends, and it is almost sure that's because of Huawei.
So those are the reasons why Samsung has only 1% market share in China, hope that this will change in the coming years but I doubt this will happen

Hey, sorry for late answer, with plane and all I've been quite busy lately.
I attach the photo of the embedded radio app (name in Chinese), hope it'll answer your question.
For Samsung pay I can't try it out anyway because my (French) bank isn't compatible yet.
I didn't find out what is hongbao accelerator used to.
China mobile gave me free 5g to try it out, I had it sometimes but the throughputs weren't as expected (see below).View attachment 4859993

Easier way, go to China and buy it there.
You can also buy it from various websites I suppose like eBay or whatever (based in what I read) but I don't know if sim lock is still existing and in this case be sure that it is sim unlocked.

What app are you using there ?
Anyway, from what I know RCS is mobile operator dependant so it may be linked to them. (It's a supposition). I haven't tried out because I don't think signal support RCS.

Hi is this model CSC working globally...? means you bought this phone from china and is VOLTE and WIFI calling working with your french network...?
french network...? Yes. Check yourself:
"Support 5G/4G/3G/GPS/Bluetooth/OTG/Type-C/Screen fingerprint ID/NFC
Networking:
2G GSM B2/B3/B5/B8,
3G WCDMA B1/B2/B4/B5/B8, TD-SCDMA B34/B39
4G FDD-LTE B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B12/B13/B18/B19/B20/B25/B26/B28, TDD-LTE B34/B38/B39/B40/B41
5G TDD Sub6: N41/N78/N79"
France is likely to delay its 5G spectrum auction until at least March 2020!

Hi there,
As a Samsung China fan, I know a lot about chinese version Samsung phones ; however I live in France so I also know a lot about the most common version of Samsung phones which are the international variants.
Personnally I think Chinese Note10+ 5G is the best variant you can find ;
Snapdragon 855, L1+L5 dual-band GPS, Dual-SIM, some cool exclusive features and the ability to use all the features we already use and love... for a cheaper price tag as it is sold in China cheaper than 4G variants in Europe...

Hi I have one more clarification, i am planing to buy this phone..Is this SM-N9760 version working dual sim with SD card at a same time via SIM adapter.
Recently Samsung block this feature on all international version, if phone detect dual sim plus SD card then you cannot enter to phone..Screen will be locked...So i am wonder in Chinese version its working or not.
Also please clarify VOLTE and Wifi calling outside china..? or it restrict only only to China...
Thanks in advance.
