Jawbone era issues - anyone suggest alternative headset - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi
I have a jawbone era which worked with my old htc desire but totally sucks with the nexus. This is a common issue I have subsequently found out.
Can anyone tell me if the Jawbone Icon HD works with the nexus ?
How about the plantronics headsets ?
Any other recommendations for a good BT headset?
Any feedback or suggestions are most appreciated.
Thanks, Dean

I use a jawbone era with mine and like it. I also use the jawbone app with it.

I'm having terrible trouble with mine - people on the other end can hardly hear me. These 2 links show people having the same issues:
eg http://forums.jawbone.com/t5/ERA/Jawbone-ERA-connection-with-Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus-i9250-Ice-Cream/td-p/28890 and
http://forums.jawbone.com/t5/ERA/new-jawbone-era-muffled-voices-issue/td-p/8202
So you guys using it with the nexus havent experienced any problems ?

The Icon HD works amazing for me. I have it and use it everyday. No problems I've ran into. Had it since Nexus launch.

[Q] Does the Galaxy Nexus have an FM tuner?

Does it? I'd hate to use radio apps for the Play store as it drains a lot of data and I only have a 1GB plan.
Does the Galaxy Nexus have an actual FM tuner?
Nope it doesn't.

How much radio are you looking to listen to? I use TuneIn Radio and it really hardly uses any data.
You could also get a hands free which have built in radio(like Sony's MW600).
Swiftkey'ed on my CM9 Galaxy Nexus
Nexus phones don't ever have fm radios. They are out and it data phones, the camera is never that great either. The only reason the nexus one had it was that it had the same hardware as the HTC desire so someone was able to hack it into miui and then later CM6.

I'm not willing to use a radio-streaming app that uses data. Like I said, I only have a 1GB data plan and most of it is used up by surfing and quite possibly a few downloads. I have no extra space for something that maybe hardly uses data.
I'm all good now, though, as a coworker (in my summer job) lent me his second pair of a noise-blocking radio headset
Then you're screwed. I use TuneIn Radio too and I am like you with a small data plan but being that there is wireless at my destinations, it's never a problem. 8 hours of radio? Just go and buy yourself a radio fella.

I love listening to the radio when I work, and it was super kind of my coworker to borrow me his radio headset.
Do you not work with a PC? I listen to internet radio with headphones on my PC.

I don't work PC's, no, I work for my landlord doing various maintenance tasks.
Ah OK. The a portable radio player is better, I remember using my creative labs Zen when I didn't have this phone. It's got 2 inches of dust on it now.

Apple Earpods

So I just got the Apple Earpods and it seems that the microphone does not work at all. During calls and in apps. It doesn't matter what ROM I am on. However I do know the microphone on the headphones does work on other phones like the Nexus 4. Is there anyway that the microphone support could be implemented into a ROM? Or is it something hardware related that Samsung did with the headphone jack?

Like all Apple products, they decided to make their own version of TRRS jacks, so Apple reversed two of the poles on the jack. You can buy a converter here for 10.00

Thank you! But I am wondering why does it not work on the GS3? It works on the nexus 4 and according to android central when they reviewed the earpods, the microphone does work the android.

I believe in the review AC used a GNex, and if you read through the comments, people say the mic does not work on a SGS3 and even the GNex.
Try downloading Jays headset control from play store and see if it works.

What's the best microphone for the Galaxy S2?

I want to do some public pranks, but I don't know what mic to get. Since my Galaxy S2 is the only audio recorder I have. My limit is about $50.

Hello. Well my friend... I have tried recording with my Jabra headset and it works pretty well. Bought it from amazon about a year ago and it's still holding up just fine.
Link: http://www.amazon.com/Jabra-EASYGO-...23487&sr=8-3&keywords=jabra+bluetooth+headset
If you want to use the headset as a voice recorder you'll need an app called Bluetooth Recorder Lite.

It's not the best app but oh well... There aren't too many free options right now.
If you really are into that I recommend Easy Voice Recorder Pro. It costs around 4 dollars right now and it has bluetooth support.

Hope I helped :good:

HTC BH S600 Bluetooth Headset

Has anyone bought or tested this APT-X headset? I assume the actual headphones are similar to the free ones we get with the HTC One. Any views welcome as I use a Samsung HS3000 at the moment and I am wondering if this HTC APT-X verison is better. Thanks in advance
Bump. Hoping someone can help me

Is Bluetooth fixed in 4.3

I'm understanding no Bluetooth LE for galaxy nexus but can anyone confirm that the broken features in 4.2.2 are fixed in 4.3 like bad in call quality, bad audio streaming and no id tags that worked in 4.1.2. I have awhile to wait since I'm on toro but wondering if I should even be excited as I need these to work.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Tags work but quality still sucks like on 4.2.2. Epic fail if you ask me. And no more audio controls were added.

Guess I can move on with life and not worry about upgrading to 4.3.

Howdy
I just got 4.3 on my Nexus - and the first thing I did was run out to the car and try pair it. Sadly it behaves just like 4.2 did - it pairs - connects for about 2 seconds and then disconnects - and that is the end of that.... I know it might be blasphemous - but I am wondering if an iPhone would at least work with my car .. I really don't want to go all the way back to 4.1 to get Bluetooth working! Sadly in my country you get a huge fine if found talking on your phone in the car - so bluetooth is kinda essential (and one of the reasons I bought the car in the first place)
