How dude the normal setting for the video is bigger than that hell, if your on AOKP or CM9 the HD Recording is there for a reason lol. I believe my front facing camera takes a bigger resolution than that even haha.
If you change your video recording settings I'm sure you can upload a video bigger than that. I have uploaded videos to youtube that are bigger than 100 Mb.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Youtube uploads can vary based on a # of factors, including data strength; for example, this past weekend I uploaded a 2 min video (close to 200mb) shot on the og Epic4G at 720p, HD, running AOKP build37 stock........it took about 30 minutes to upload to my youtube channel direct from the device using 4G.
*try sending a small clip (15 sec test) direct from your epic if only to establish your account --you can always delete it later.

I've been playing with the Evo 4G that Google handed out today at I/O, but I just can't seem to figure this out. In the Apps drawer, I see a Gallery app, but it is not the 3D Gallery in stock 2.1, nor does it have any of my Picasaweb albums.
Is it just me or did they just forget to put that in when customizing Sense UI?
So if no 3D gallery, is it back to the old none 3D gallery?

It is 2D, and integrates into Flickr and Facebook. Surprisingly, not Picasaweb. I much prefer the 3D Gallery on the Droid. Tried to copy over the Gallery3D.apk from the Droid's /system/app, but it would not install on the Evo 4G.
that's really weird i would expect it to be ready now, since it has been avilable on every other 2.1 phone. Maybe it was too buggy by the time they needed it for the conference. How is it so far any other complaints?

Complaints..
The volume rocker on the side is too stiff and hard to press. The Home and Back "buttons" are switched from the Droid. Makes less sense how they're located on the Evo. I'm still frustrated sometimes after playing with it nonstop for the whole day.
Can't change the number of home screens from 7.
Comes with ALOT of Sprint crApps.
The homescreen of my Droid with LauncherPro is much smoother than the Evo with or without LauncherPro instead of HTC Sense.
The vibrator is much weaker than the Droid's.
The large screen size makes holding the Evo for an extended period of time hurt. Right handed thumbs don't quite reach the left side of the screen comfortably. If you lie down and hold the Evo over your face, you have to grip it more tightly and uncomfortable than the narrower Droid.
Droid looks more "hi-def" because it has higher pixel density.
Good things...
Camera takes pictures so much faster.
Evo's Sprint 3G tests faster than Droid's Verizon 3G. Though it seems to have higher latency.
SO MUCH MORE MEMORY (ram?) than the Droid. The Droid sometimes struggles to keep more than 50mb available at any time, while the Evo sometimes has over 200mb free.
The large screen size is just beautiful. Much brighter than Droid at max brightness. Much much darker than Droid at min brightness.
Love the HTC keyboard. I've been using and loving Swype on the Droid for almost a month, but now I may have to switch to the HTC keyboard for it's accuracy, prediction, and ease of use.
I have big hands so i think my thumbs will be able to handle the screen size. how usefull is the front facing camera, as i plan on using that video chat feature the most.

As you'll see in the video, I also have very large hands.. Just took a quick video going through the Evo and posting it on Youtube.
Edit: The forum won't let me post outside links... oh well
Edit2: Wow, but it lets you put a URL in the Title... That's a pretty big hole.
Edit3: Am I cool enough to link to youtube now? Lets see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pslg402CHss
Yeah its still weird not to have the 3D gallery, i definitely will be missing that feature. Have you tried watchn any downloaded movies on it yet, i am wondering how is the video playback

Alright so one mp4 file from my Pentax k-x (720p) played with audio but no video. I suspect that's just because Pentax formats their files weird..
Ok maybe I'm doing something wrong on the Droid. Another mp4 anime file also played audio but no video.
Hmmmm.. no AVI, no MKV, MP4 half works. I must be doing something wrong
I've had MP4 play on my G1 i would think that to be the correct format, but this could be a problem if i can't watch my movies.

wasn't poking fun at him, more the droid(not a fan of motorola), and was simply agreeing with his comment in the youtube desc.
I used Handbrake to convert one of the MP4s that didn't show video earlier. I used the Apple->iPhone&iPod Touch preset, and it generated a file that had extension m4v, and reduced the 720p source to 480p.
I tried unsuccessfully to play the m4v file, but when I renamed it to mp4, it played perfectly. Then I tried to encode the original again, but this time keeping it as 720p. But my Handbrake must have some kind of memory leak, cause it keeps on blowing up as the RAM usage creeps higher and higher. So I couldn't test it with HD 720p video.
But at least we know how to get your movies encoded to play on the Evo.
Found this on another thread. installed it and it works perfect.

Think of it this way.
You send an HD capture of a movie and it's say 20MB (short capture) you now have to upload that at wifi or 3g speeds. that takes a little bit to the MMS server, which then has to process it and then send it off to whoever is recieving, who then has to download the 20MB. the whole process could in ideal conditions take about 3 minutes.
in bad conditions 30+ mins NOW consider 100,000 people doing this, and you'll understand why mailservers usully have a 5MB cap on attachments and emails.
it's just not from a tech point feasible to do on mass scale.
if you wanna share video use qik or post it online somewhere so that they can view it and NOT store it on the cell's internal networking where space is not a concern they built it for.

Ah yes, the clip I have was from somewhere else on xda and must have been converted first. I noticed that everything from that site seems to be in m2ts format, which needs converting first. But if you've got the right program to do it, then it seems to be the best collection of clips.

Just use a TV HD MKV download. I used Battlestar Galacticas final episode and a Stargate Universe to show off the SGS2. It certainly impressed.

MKV files are shells which might contain codecs that the E4GT might support. If it doesn't then you will have to convert it. So far everything I've loaded has worked, including subtitles.
I tried all the media players and the best one is MX Video Player. MX has swipe controls, ability to switch from H/W to S/W decoding on the fly, and uses FFMPEG to play unsupported codecs. Dice is also good, but it's not free. QQPlayer is also nice and uses FFMPEG like MX and Dice. BSPlayer is great for the PC, but right now has bugs on Android. Still waiting for VLC to come out for Android.

Follow-up Question: Download Resolution
As a follow-up question on Tubemate:
I've been using Tubemate for about 5 months now and absolutely love it. One thing I've noticed, though, is that sometimes when I download a video at full resolution, it doesn't play very well in any video player I have tried (stock TW Video Player, MXPlayer, VLC). The video will play for a certain length (sometimes 1/2 the video, sometimes 3/4 of it) and the video will freeze (sound continues) and then the video will restart from the beginning. If I skip ahead of the "freeze point" the video continues fine.
I know that Tubemate downloads the files in sections and stitches it together (think of old-school r.00 and r.01 files), so it sounds like the problem is that the particular section the "freeze point" is in was corrupt. If I download the video in a different format (or redownload it at the original resolution) it sometimes works better.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Tubemate downloads.

I've had this issue before.. It happens. Sometimes I go to the download folder and make sure its really at a 100%. But I figure its the video codecs on the phone.. sometimes they just hitch a part and its all downhill from there. But tubemate is by far the best. not only do you not have to deal with ads, it gives you options to select which video size you want which is always a plus
