I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and I'm trying to use one of their sim cards. Verizon gave me the unlock code and when I put the new sim card in I entered the unlock code and it said it was successful. But then when I try to register on the network it will not connect. It also asks for the unlock code every time I reboot. I am currently using the latest CM7 Nightly. Normally I would take the time and search around and figure out how to fix it myself but I am on limited time with the internet. Any advice or links to get me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
You can close this thread. After clearing the cache and dalvik cache everything had loaded fine.

This is probably a stupid question, but I can't find the answer. I did the following to get CM 7.1 FXP028a running on my R800i GSM:
Flashed official 4.0.A.2.0.368 ROM with flashtool (wiped all data)
Renamed update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-XperiaPlay-R800i-KANG-signed.zip to update.zip and copied to SD card
Flashed new kernel: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Entered recovery and applied update.zip from SD card
Wiped data and cache
Reboot device
Everything seems to be working fine except that it keeps asking for a network unlock pin. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm back at the official 4.0.A.2.0.368, because it would be handy to be able to use it as a phone (as much as I like SNESoid combined with the gamepad).
I've actually encountered the same thing before.
Have you flashed googleapps after booting the first time?
(when it asks for a service pin or similar, just cancel that one)
Click on "Discard" and ignore it.
Haven't installed googleapps, will try. Simply ignoring means I can't call.

I have CM7 28a in R800i just like you. The prompt appears in my phone too, and I bought it Sim unlocked. And of course, I can call, receive calls and use 3g
I've got a similar error. my SIM card when I insert, I will always ask for the code that is supposedly wrong. disable a cell phone I need the other pin. until I get to my menu r800i GSM. then sometimes when I'm in, I get no data connection (it saves automatically or manually my network operator.
Finally had time to test again and since FXP041 is available I tried that one. Works like a charm! No issues with network pins and feels very snappy.
FYI.
I'm newbie,
But i've unlocked bootloader using this method ' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12873655&postcount=1 '
Rooted using this method ' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312859&highlight=root '
And INSTALLING CYANOGEN MOD using this method ' http://www.xperiagamer.com/Beginners-Guides/loading-custom-roms.html '
after all i've done , nothing odd happen,
then i realise when my phone reboot it show (No Servis) i did insert my SIM CARD.
means no network isn't??
anyone can help me?
EDIT *
Because no one's concern about this.
I just figure it out.
Hello, I'm having a very serious problem with my Galaxy Nexus, I was running Foxhound 1.2 perfectly, but wanted to try the new 4.0.4 Foxhound 0.2, so I wiped and did everything as normal, and installed the ROM, the phone then asked me for my network unlock code, which I used the sim unlock .bat file against, I've used that file for every ROM and it has worked perfectly... Okay so I used the .bat file, however it didn't seem to work, as my phone still asked me about the network unlock code, so I didn't bother, and flashed back my backup of my Foxhound 1.2 ROM. When it had booted, it asked for my SIM PIN, as normal and I entered it, it then said that it was incorrect, and I'm 100% sure that I write the right PIN, so I thought that I could only be the SIM card which was at fault, so I tested it in my dad's HTC Desire, and it worked perfectly... I then decided to wipe the phone completely, /system, /data, /cache, everything! And I then restored the phone back to stock 4.0.2 from Google, however it still won't accept the pin code, and when I try to change it, is says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code" I then decided to change the SIM PIN with the Desire, and it worked, I then popped the SIM card back into my Nexus, and it still says incorrect pin! This is where I stand, I don't have a clue what to do anymore, if this is truly a hardware fault, how could it just appear when flashing a new ROM? You might ask why I don't send it in for repair, well the thing is, my brother bought two, one for him and one for me, when he was in Great Britain, and I live in Denmark, so shipping would be quite a hassle
I really hope anyone knows what to do!
Regards
Jacob
Sorry, can't help you with a solution, but I don't think it's broken. It sounds more like there is still some data left on your device which interferes with the normal function of network/SIM card access.
Where does the unlock.bat write to? ...
Use your other phone to remove the SIM PIN and try again.
Disable the SIM Pin and try again.
Hope it works.
Huh, well I somehow solved the problem, I took the simcard out, and put it in again, and it somehow worked... However I don't know if this is a temporarily solution, as I haven't tried to take the simcard out again... Also if I format /system, /data and /cache in CWM, shouldn't the phone be completely formatted?
I flashed in JB AOKP was working fine all of last night. I also entered my SIM Pin or unlock code. The first time I put in an 8 digit unlock code I have. Second time it prompted me I skipped it. I'm pretty sure it was the security pin and not the network unlock. I don't have any other phone's micro SIM I can insert into my phone and a local phone store's T Mobile SIM produced no different of a result except for replacing AT&T with T-Mobile (I have not however put my microSIM into another phone...because I don't have another micro sim phone). Reboot phone this morning and it's no longer working. Tried to enable 2g. Nothing. Tried a battery pull with the phone on, pulling the SIM (same message with SIM pulled out),
Wifi works
This sucks big time ;(
Note: I am pretty sure I did not network lock the phone or anything because the SIM prompt that came up when I flashed JB did not ask me for my unlock or network code (I would have known). The first time I entered that code was 'just in case it's asking me to unlock" but why would it ask me a second time then? So I doubt it was prompting me for a network unlock code. The prompt from youtube videos was different too.
Also APN is empty, but I think that's becasue I'm not connected to any network
Pressing Available networks brings up AT&T AT&T AT&T T-Mobile T-Mobile "311660" pressing any of them you get a quick window connect "too fast" goes back to/stays in available networks screen and says "Can't connect to this network right now. Try again later."
So I added the AOKP and Corresponding kernel yesterday and I mean it was working fine with 4g... apparently this thread says that you need to flash a new radio in some cases when you change kernels?

...what are you talking about. My IMEI isn't mentioned once in that post. In fact now that you mention it, since people's IMEI changed...nothing like that my phone still has its IMEI
I also did not get a "phone frozen" from entering the wrong code too many times...so I doubt its locked like that. There was a random reboot that I WOKE UP to, but nothing weird...it rebooted randomly but worked finely after that

I was proposing the theory that you may have lost your IMEI, since the symptoms you report were very similar to what I was experiencing when I lost mine, however since you still have yours, must be something else, eh?

Well, mine was definitely due to a lost imei that happened sometime when flashing.
I did get the network unlock warning thingy twice, and then had no cellular connectivity, which is why I mentioned the lost imei. I restored my nandroid back to stock, then used the method here with a little driver tapdancing to reinject my imei, and that solved my issues, but sounds like you have something else going on.

If I flash back to stock and no longer have the stock kernel, what is the steps for flashing back then?
1. flash stock kernel
2 fix partitions
3. factory rest/cache/davlik
reboot into oden and flash new image?
Long story short, Don't cut your own microsd..the sim pins on this phone are VERY sensitive and hard to fix/see. Don't bend em.
I am having the same problems right now, I keep on getting " NO SERVICE" - SELECTED NETWORK UNAVAILABLE" Error.
Rebooting doesnt help, flashing modem through CWM doesnt help. I know for a fact that the simcard it good because other apps that I install can read the sim with no problem, and my WIFI is working like a charm.
Someone got a solution for this? This is already like 4 days ongoing, please any help will be appreciated !!
Im having the same no service selected network issue. I can search and find att and the mobile but when I try to have it connect to att that's the error I get. I have an att SIM card in the phone. Sph l720 SIM unlocked, it didn't ask me for an unlock code or anything like that but I also don't get the invalid SIM card error. I've added the main apn from the att website but that doesn't help and the phone is current set to gsm/umts. If anyone has a fix please let me know, thank you.
I need help knowing how to proceed with my daughter's tablet. I got her a used Note 8 from e-bay. The seller said they could not keep the sim card in. That was not a problem because we don't plan on using it with AT&T, and the price was right.
So the tablet comes and my daughter uses it for the afternoon with no problems. When I got home I was playing with it and put in an inactive sim card to see if it would stay in. It did, so I took it out and gave it back to my daughter. Now evey couple hours it gives me a message saying sim card added, restart your device to access the mobile network. If I pull down the settings menu it says no sim card. I cannot do anything though, so I am forced to restart. I cannot figure out what to do.
First I am not sure if I caused the problem by putting in the sim card for a minute or it was already there.
So I have tried a few things. The last thing I did was a data wipe, followed by clear cache, then I did a force stop on any at&t app. We still get the message.
I tried to update android as it is running 4.1.2 But is says it is up to date.
While trying to figure out what to do I discovered it is apparently rooted. I noticed it had SuperSU v1.80 installed. To check root I installed root checker from google play store. It says root access is verified. So I assume that is why I cannot update android.
Anyone else have this problem? I searched and couldn't find any solutions.
Any ideas on solving it?
Currently I am debating undoing root and seeing if I can update over the air. And hopefully fix the problem. Or updating with a custom rom to try to fix it. But I am not sure how to do that. It has been a really long time since I rooted anything.
I appreciate any help. Thank you, Sherry
When the message comes up I cannot do anything but access the settings drag down menu. It still says no sim card, but the message on the home page says there is and to restart. Must restart device. So after I restarted it I clicked on the notification that says no sim card for app info. It says it is system UI. At first I was hesitant to disable it, but finally gave it a try. It worked. No more sim card messages forcing me to restart. And so far everything works properly except for the background image. It is just a black screen. Everything else seems to function properly. Good enough for now I guess.
Good morning, everyone,
Since I switched to version 15.1, each time I reboot, the phone (OnePlus 2) takes a long time to ask me the pin code of the SIM card. Meanwhile it does not detect it.
Once asked and unlocked, it takes time to find the network and sometimes it asks me again the code for the SIM.
Sometimes mobile data doesn't work
I did a clean install with gapps and magisk root.
I have no application modifying the system.
I only have one SIM card (Belgian)
If anyone can help me, that would be cool.
Well .......

I have to admit that the first thing I would do is get rid of the SIM lock. In my opinion there are better ways to protect info on the phone and if someone gets hold of your device, all that needs to be done it to remove the SIM and most of that security protection goes right out the window. I am quite certain lots of folks reading this will disagree with me but, you asked.
