[Q] AT&T

I was wondering for all you who use the Touch HD with at&t if you have had any problems. In the settings for the network everything looks to be set properley (cingular.wap...etc.). It says I have service to but will not let me make or receive calls. When I go to a different part of town it sometimes lets me make calls and sometimes lets me text, even though t says I have service.
Does anyone know if at&t is putting restrictions on the phone or has a solution to the problem which I don't even know what the problem is.

I haven't run into this yet. I have only had the phone now for 2.5 days and love it, been playing with it alot. Testing my old software and stuff and it always works, gets text messages, emails, and calls.
Did you play with the Phone/Band settings? If so put them back on auto or force them to use ones that work.

I've been using the HD on att for months now without any problems...I didn't have to set anything up to get it to work...just chose ATT when it asked which carrier to use when I turned the phone on for the first time.

Link in my sig if you want to input them manually to be sure they are correct.

T-Mobile USA, Cannot send MMS - Help??

Okay here is my problem. At first I couldn't receive MMS at all but with the help of supertrooper I was able to fix that problem. Now I can't send MMS at all. I have tested this using 2 ROMs, my own and EnergyROM. Neither worked to send MMS. The shipped ROM is no different.
Someone with T-Mobile USA using a Touch HD T8282 and FULL working MMS(Can send pictures and receive images in resolution sent to you), please dump the following key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arcsoft]
And ALL sub-keys.
If I can get this key dumped and also the exact version of Arcsoft MMS you are using, I should be able to fix my problem and I would be incredibly grateful.

dude i feel ur pain i had the same problem but i fixed it as well i am using energy 6.5 goto settings-connections-advanced tab-select networks-mms-edit- make new connection set a name modem is cell gps-access point is wap.voicestream.com the rest leave blank.. do note also go into the mms options and set it to wat ever name u chose wen u made a new connection... save and reboot

Thanks but my ROM is WM6.1 build 21052. I don't have those same options in my settings tab. I really need a dump of the Arcsoft Key from the registry. That would be the most helpful because I could determine what is wrong with my registry preventing me from sending MMS.

yes u still hav the same but u hav to find them u hav a service issuse on ur end tmobile can walk u threw the steps.. tell them u need to set ur access point for the pic to goto

It's not a service problem. I also have an AT&T Fuze that my wife uses. I switched the SIM cards and was able to successfully send a MMS from her phone using my SIM card and phone number so it isn't on T-Mobile's end, it's my ROM
Also, I went to connection settings/ Advanced network and there is no MMS Edit options in there. I can get to the MMS options menu through messaging but nothing I've tried in there has made any difference.

because att auto sends that info threw there sims but tombile sims dont so u hav to manully set the access point on the device had problems for a min there solved now the access points hav to match the mms option settings ... i can walk u threw them but u would hav to hit me up on messenger threw live voice, i can help u and send u the info but tmobile reps sum are slow others think they aready know but remember u must set ur access points to go out to tmobiles server

Well I can tell you that I do have the "T-Mobile MMS" in my server settings and they do match everything I've seen on every board across the web that I've found. Other than that I do have a custom WSP header cooked in that allows me to receive full size MMS but even without that I cannot send MMS at all.
If you were to walk me through setting up whatever else I might be missing it would have to be tomorrow. It's about 10:10pm here where I live and I need to be up at 5am ...

I think I'm going to give the T-Mobile Rhodium Arcsoft MMS and OperatorPKG another try. Now that the T-Mobile Rhodium has been officially released maybe it will work now..

[Q] a little help if you'd be so kind !!

hello .. be nice this is my first post !!
i recently came into the possesion of one of these little phones .. however i had no intentions of using this on t-mobile and wished to unlock the phone to be able to use on o2 .. however .. after following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853674 which seems to have done the trick as the t-mobile gumpf has disappeared when turning the phone on but now i have a screen that asks for sim network unlock pin to which i dont have one and dont know where to obtain one .. i dismiss it and it takes me to the home page .. wifi works perfectly but i cant send or receive both text messages and calls apart from emergency ones !! .. i have since purchased another tmobile chip and the sim network unlock pin screen is no longer there and would appear to have a signal and two arrows pointing up and down and the g changes back and forth with an h .. but still no calls or texts .. can someone please tell me that i havent killed the phone and there is a fix !! .. i will admit i am a complete newbie to all this so go gentley !!
if the phone was blocked by the network what would my symptoms be .. only asking as im paranoid that i may have been sold a dud phone !!

Hi and welcome to the forums
Unfortunately, I don't think the thread you linked has anything to do with being able to use a SIM card from another network on your phone. If I'm not mistaken it's more for removing the splash screen (eg. the T-Mobile one when you start up the phone) and also to get rid of the custom apps that networks like putting on their phones.
What you want is an "UNLOCK" code that you can either get online or obtain from T-Mob themselves - I've not done it personally before but you may have to shell out some cash for the code.
Have you tried using the original SIM card that the phone came with?
P.S. The changing G and H with the two arrows are related to the Mobile Data Connection being used by your phone. The arrow pointing up being upload, and down being download.

ah ok .. hense my newbie ness !! .. oh ok .. i thought that meant it would unblock the phone to be able to use on any network !!
i dont have the original sim .. but when putting the o2 sim in i dont get the g & h or the arrows .. and the little graph that shows the reception !! .. however when i put the "new" t-mobile chip in .. it all appears but still unable to make calls etc !! .. just a bit confused as to why the phone doesnt work on t-mobile !!

Extremely unclear what you are trying to do. "Blacklisted"? By whom and how? I don't even know what that means.
If you want to unlock your phone to use on any GSM network, as LetoKynes said above, you need an unlock code. Buy one online and when your phone asks for the code, enter it.

i was trying to unlock it to use on any network .. but then found out u the unlock code .. so as i was eager to crack on and use the phone i bought a sim to match the network it was on .. it was working fine but then suddenly stopped working .. i rang the network and the phone has since been reported lost so its been blacklisted !! .. and as i purchased the phone recently i guess ive been had over .. as i am unable to give the original owners details !! .. pretty gutted !! .. still the wifi still works ok !!!

[Q] Mobile data problem

So i bought a galaxy nexus GSM white version from Bulgarian carrier VIVACOM. I turned it on then updated to android 4.1.1
I tried to activate the mobile data with a SMS that i recieve from the carrier but it didn't work. Yesterday i called them and we installed the settings. Nothing happened. After that we deleta wap.carrier.bg. Again no effect. After long converse we didn't manage to trun the 3g and they told me that with them everything is ok. My status bar is gray and i hardly saw the "H" appearing, but still no data. I read here and in other forums, but didn't find the solution. I read here solution with changing the Radial, but I don't want to mess with this and also it is now my job. My current Radial Module is I9250XXLF1.
I want to aks you if this issue can be solved. If not i will try to change the phone with different one. I like JB, but i need a working phone.

Have you looked into your APN settings? That's often where issues occur for GSM phones.

The I roblem is fixed. I went to store to explain the problem and maybe return the phone. It,let is from the settings, those from call service don't know a lot. He put the settings into mms.thecarrier.bg and deleted the new APN I created. In the end everything is just fine. So I hope I will help others.

From call service of the carrier told me to create new APN. That was wrong, because nothing happened. The next day I went to one of the carrier store and explain this problem to the servant. He said it should be from the settings there is no way not to work. So he deleted the new APN that I created and put the settings into mms.thecarrier.bg. When I ask the call service what should I do with mms.thecarriername.bg should I deleted it like I deleted wap.thecarriername.bg and they said "you can leave it like this"

[Q] Internet / Carrier Calls

Hey guys, I'm looking for a solution for couple of weeks now, and actually feel stupid.. I remember finding this option on my old S4 mini but cannot find it on th G3
So, the problem is, whenever I call somebody, a popup comes up and asks whether I want to make an Internet call or cell phone call. I want this removed, change to cell phone by default but cannot find the option anywhere..
I've tried uploading a picture but it prevented me as I'm a new user on the forum
Please help.
