try leaving it on the charger a while... but I'm sorry to say that it sounds like a brick. If it won't take a charge, you won't be able to odin anything. I had a similar issue and the battery would get real hot on the charger but it wouldn't charge so I couldn't flash anything.
good luck my friend

guys help me.
what the hell do you want help with? Find a way to way to charge your battery and Odin something.
Need more details than "my battery died".
Are you rooted, what rom, kernel and recovery? What did you do leading up to this point? What have you done to try to remedy the problem?
Cover the basics and you might get an answer
There could be two possible problem
1.Battery is not charged - maybe usb cable is bad. Try charge with another cable
2.Battery is bad or dead - replace the battery.
To test couple of things, try to use different battery if you can find. If phone boots up, then you don't need to worry about the brick.

Im not sure if our phones are even capable of doing this but take out the battery and plug the charger into the phone without the battery essentially bypassing the battery. Its strange that the phone would just brick, it sounds like something more than that.
I tried that and it didnt work this sucks bro
Take out the SD Card if you have one. And I assume you have tried accessing the recovery menu while plugged in?

That was the first thing I did, I can get into Odin but it says my battery is to low
How long are you leaving it on the charger? I know with some devices like ipod touches and stuff if they are really dead they need to sit on the charger for a while so they can gain enough power to boot up. However I will say my epic has gone dead over night before too and when I plug it in it goes right on. I would definitely take it to a sprint store. Make sure they have a repair center though otherwise they will want to mail it to samsung and then you will be without a phone for at least a week or two.
I have had batteries/phones in the past where they would only accept trickle charge after they were fully drained. My theory is since these batteries take more current as they get more depleted, they are refusing to charge because the current is higher than expected.
I have no idea if that is what is happening here, but you may want to try low current charging sources .5 amp or less.
You can try an external battery charger....if you have one. If not, find an extra charger and strip the end. Take the battery out of the phone and put the bare wire ends on the appropriate terminals on the battery and reinsert it, now you will be directly charging the battery. Its not very safe if you dont know what your doing, but I have done it before....I actually have a charger set up for this. Another option would be to tape the wire ends to the terminals.
Ok so I just tried to boot without battery on my device while plugged into the wall. It doesnt power nor do any lights come on. I think it may be your battery brother. I would suggest order a cheap one off ebay and have it ship as fast as possible just to check it for a solution. Or go to your sprint store with the battery only and tell them that it is not working and that you want to replace it and see what they say.
Sounds like a bad battery to me. I would try what the guy above me suggested. Get a extra battery from Ebay. Or take it to Sprint..

I had flashed Caulkin's_format_all.zip and I managed to accidentally reboot my phone before flashing a rom or anything. The phone will not power on, and if I plug it in, the charge indicator will not turn on. I've already tried pulling the batt for 5 minutes with no luck. any suggestions?
I did this once by being too quick at pushing the power button , I was able to reboot into recovery by pushing volume down and power button and then install a backup or you could flash rom. Hope this helps.
problem is, I can't even get it to boot, be it normal boot or bootloader.
If you hook it up to the computer, is it recognized?
Your going to have to borrow someones battery. I've seen people with this problem and for some reason, your phone won't recognize your battery and since it won't it won't charge it. Trust me, stick in a different battery and you will boot right up.
I've tried using my sprint extended life batt and the stock htc batt. neither worked.
and pc won't even recognize it.

So 100% sure that both batteries you've tried have a charge on them? And still no led when plugged in, to computer or wall? That sucks, because it sounds like it got bricked, somehow. I have also accidentally booted after flashing calk's format all from hitting the power button too quick, and as the other guy said, I was able to get to the bootloader by voldown+power, and restore a nandroid. I don't know what went differently in your case, but if you're positive that the batteries you've tried are good and charged, and you get no power led plugged into the wall, then it does sound like you somehow got a brick? Did you try leaving it plugged in for some time? A couple hours maybe, just to see if the led comes on?
Also make sure you are using a wall charger, I know if my battery charge is too low or dead the usb on my computer won't work, I then have to use the wall charger. The led will flash at first before starting to charge. When led is flashing phone won't turn on.
Edit:I just saw wall charging mentioned in previous post. I guess it shows the importance of it
I haven't tried leaving it plugged in. doing that now.
so I took it into the sprint store today and even the techs couldnt figure it out. I've got a replacement on the way. thanks for your suggestions guys!

Well i guess that may be a way of doing it. Completely break the phone if something goes wrong during root
hmmm.... weird.... your phone decided it had enough flashing apparently
First ive seen of a phone completely bricked that wasn't during a radio update.
Hi
in need of help here....
The phone was happily running CyanogenMod 7.1.0.1 and all was well.
Had the phone plugged into the mains for a recharge and all was as expected.
However the next time that I looked the phone was off without any lights.
I disconnected the charger and tried to reboot the phone, nada
tried rebooting to recovery and again nada.
The phone is completely dead.
tried changing the battery with a known good fully charged battery,
Still cant boot the phone at all and interestingly when connected to PC via USB the PC doesn't see the phone....
Desperately need plenty of help here
TIA
Can you go into HBOOT?

Thanks for getting back to me,

Mmmmm seems like its a gonna mate.
Last attempt I'd try removing battery and leave it out for about 20mins,then replace and without turning it on or pressing any buttons plug charger in and leave for as long as you can. Try at LEAST 10 hours then try turning it on. Sorry can't think of anything else more to try.

yeah try that and ive just remembered something too but not sure if it was wildfire related but i think it might be worth a mention.
sometimes the chargers have faults and need replacing so lets throw that into the pot too. if the over night power down charge doesnt work maybe try a different charger as a final last resort. really hope its as simple as that for you cos to be honest its not a bad little phone to have.
regards slymobi.
Tried as you suggested, same result. Will try and borrow a known working charger but won't be able to organize it until the weekend. Will post back then.
Thanks for now and best regards Arfer
Ah gutted. Lets hope its the charger then mate. Could try a USB charge whilst you wait for mains charger. Just try off power charge from USB this time.

That's a good positive way to look at it ! Shame my wallet is now fully into it's own post Xmas "economic downturn"
I know this sounds like a noobish trick but I was in a similar boat today.
I ran out of juice today during school, so when I got home I plugged my phone in. Nada from it. Cut to the chase, I run CM7.1.0.1_buzz like you with CWM(2.5.0.7 I think).
Took the battery out, and pushed the white button in on it (assuming it's a reset button for the battery controller). Threw the battery back in the phone and plugged it in. I then had a red flashing light, which from what I've seen myself, just means the phone is completely flat (I've seen it twice and my battery still works, no replacement). So I'm leaving it to charge since last time I had it, a full charge got rid of the red flashing light to a solid red light (the normal charging one). I thought I had a brick too since I OC'd it since I rooted a long time ago.
Good luck!
EDIT: Forgot to add, I couldn't get in to HBOOT
Thanks for the battery button tip. Didn't work for me, have also tried putting in my mate's fully charged battery and it won't boot...the phone is no more
So I'm currently using the Suarom ROM, and for the most part it's been working fine. Suddenly I have a problem. Last night I plug my phone in to charge and suddenly it won't charge. I tried with two separate chargers.
It's still a new phone, so I can bring it in for warranty work. I just want to make sure I take all the steps necessary to "un void" the warranty. I'm a Rogers customer. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
Theres a thread in the DEV section that provides instructions of how to completely un-root and restore your device to factory before you turn it in for services.
The only problem is, my battery is at ten percent with no way to charge. The strange thing is that when I plug the phone in, the charging symbol appears. Just doesn't charge. Any idea why that would be ?

Tried different chargers? maybe plug it up to your PC see if you can get some juice that way? i can see the cable/charger going bad before the usb port on the phone ( but **** happens ) 10 percent should be good enough to get your phone back to stock though, i did it at 7 percent not to long ago, you just cant play around you have to click and run and get it done so it does not die. then if it dies after at least you are stock and can just turn it back in. but to be honest for a charger problem i VERY SERIOUSLY doubt they will be looking at Software and roms. thast a defect, and i think they will just do a clean swap----JUST LET IT DIE so they can not turn it back on in the store..lol
Ya could have a derpy battery and the phones fine.

Yeah, I have tried three chargers with no luck. Haven't tried a PC yet but will after work.
So if I'm getting the lightning bolt charging symbol, odds are it'llbe the battery rather than the port?
take it to best buy or an at&t store....and just say, hey i think i may have a bad battery do you have one i can use to see if my phone will power on and recognize the charger after it is plugged in. then you will know, unless you have an extra battery just laying around.
I had a similar problem like this before. Try charging with the phone off.
OR
If you want to troubleshoot and isolate the problem, try getting an external battery charger and a spare battery.
If you charge your stock battery and it charges with the external charger, your phone may be the problem. If not, then it's the stock battery.
And with the spare battery, try charging it via phone charger.
These are the possible ways I can think of at the moment. Hope this helps!
A friend of mine gave me dead Note-2, does not respond to buttons, battery inside was completely discharged.
I tried to hook it up to the charger, no signs of life, put precharged battery in, still nothing (in another words it does not respond to any buttons pushes or plugging into the charger).
Phone is in perfect cosmetical (close to like-new condition), no signs of water damage, so what else to look at or try to bring it back to life? I put the battery into my alive Note-2 it charges fine.
Phone ever dropped? Possible loose connection?
If you are using a Windows computer, does anything appear in device manager when the phone is connected?
Not a single dent on the besel or screen dry inside (I already took the back cover off), no mechanical damage inside, sadly no signs of life when hooked up to computer....
You took off the battery cover or the frame surrounding the motherboard, battery compartment, etc?
Have you tried leaving it on a charger for a few hours?

Yes took it apart all the way to PCB, no fully charged the battery up in another phone.
You did everything I could think of other than swapping out parts, I at a time.
The phone may have to be examined by a repair shop or Samsung.
Ok when the phone is left with the charged battery inside, the whole screen surface and battery gets noticeably warm, not burning, but evenly warm.
Is it possible that the screen is dead? The only way to really tell would be to put the motherboard into another phone. Don't know of any other way to really diagnose the problem as there is nothing on the screen when connected to a charger.

Its hard bricked, probably due to one of a few reasons.
1) it had a locked bootloader and someone flashed TWRP in an attempt to root it, a common cause.
2) someone rooted it, flashed TWRP then somewhere along the line flashed a ROM for a different device, also a common cause.
3) someone tried to update it manually by flashing a stock update in Odin but flashed the wrong firmware, or part of a firmware, again a common cause.
4) it had a locked bootloader and someone improperly tried to unlock it.
There are some more but aren't very common.
Have you tried a USB jig to see if it boots to download mode? If so you can flash the stock firmware and maybe revive it.

Its a device that costs $3-4 USD on eBay, it forces the device into download mode even of it won't with the buttons.
You can also make one with an old USB cord and a 300k resistor or combo of resistors equalling nor more and no less than 300k.

Or, if you have a sdcard to put in it you can convert the sdcard to a bootable drive by using a debrick.img for your device, if you can find one or get someone to pull a copy from their device.
That makes the phone boot from sdcard, then you can restore everything back to the device then return the sdcard to normal use.

USB jig works on all Samsung devices, they are made that way purposely. also, it isn't guaranteed to boot it to download depending how bricked it is, but if its all possible for the device to perform the function, it will do it.
Yes I have SD card and another Note-2, where are the instructions how to make that debrick.img?
No PC does not see it, does not vibrate and I tried every button combination with no luck.
It took a few minutes to make USB jig, tested on another phone, works sadly does not do anything to the patient

Here, this is the method, the thread says its for S3 but the method works on other Samsung devices also, the debrick.IMG has to be from the same exact model, can't use a debrick.IMG from a different model number. Use this method, just find your debrick.IMG and use it, also, make sure you understand the partition structure on your note 2 and you know which partition is which and which mmcblk0 each of your partitions are in, if you get the partitions wrong you will have wasted your time.

This method doesn't work if the device doesn't at least vibrate when holding power.

Try these steps
Hold down power button for 30s at least and try power again
If that doesn't work
Pull battery
If that doesn't work
Pull Battery and clean prongs where battery connects and battery prongs
Try different charger
If that doesn't work
Clean charging port with toothpick GENTLY....again GENTLY and dont jam it inbetween the side it doesn't fit where connector is

Consider another charging block
If not go to local repair shop have them test the charging port for voltage

You would need to send it in

Easy way to check the charging port without going to shop is

We've checking a few, seems like root is needed. Do you know how to root it? it's H818P MM, can't find it so far.
And there's a bit update. The phone was a few months died, now after I charge the battery using external charger and trying to turn on the phone. There's nothing happened, probably because the juice is not strong enough, but now there's a battery animation with a question mark when I connect it to the computer without the battery (still recharging the battery again).
