Nothing....?

That looks pretty sick tho. But I doubt it tho. I haven't seen heard of any but i could b wrong. That would look good on the EVO tho. Maybe someone will make a ROM based on that but i doubt that too LOL who knows right

DAMn.. Hopefully something similar comes later on

Not yet, technology doesn't appear ready for primetime. There is a browser app using it called OverSkeen that works well but is better suited for tablets due to space requirements

overskreen. I'll take a look into that

Thanks that brwser is kinda what I needed, plus the aokp home button webos style thing makes it even better,
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk

I would love to see the devs of this make a mini version for phones. C'mon, I don't need all of these 4.3 inches for one app!!
Sent from the original Swagged Out EVO via Tapatalk 2

Well this works great cus now i can finally use youtube in the background.. Wish there swas something similar to Webos style option for cm7.
I like how on aokp u hold the home button and ur recent apps come up, not the boring cm7 where the icons of the recent apps come up

Very very stock android on HTC evo

So I'm kinda new to posting on these forums I usually download roms flash and kernels and all that good stuff. Anyway is there some way one of these great devs on this site make a Rom that's just ASOP just regular like the nexus one. I know there is cm6 and frost Rom (which I love both of those). I just really like the basic android, I've been told "o just get a different phone or bla bla" but I love the evo and would wonderfully appreciate that Rom. I figure there is no harm in asking so I did I'm sure there are others out there that want the same thing or close to it. The idea I have in my head is pull everything from a nexus one and throw it on the evo but Idk if that'll work.

Am I missing what the OP is asking..how much closer to AOSP can you get than CM6 ??
Cm6 isn't all the way stick being as tho it uses adw and has extra options I really need to make my own aosp Rom with 4g. I just want the very basic things

I don't think you will be able to include 4G in your AOSP rom unfortunately.
Is that just because the wimax signal isn't supported?

I haven't researched this at all, but because CM6 doesn't support 4G, I would assume that the HTC drivers are not open source.
Meh o well I live in a 4g city but its no deal breaker. I just want a rom with great battery life and good - excellent performance idc if the rom is sense or not I just like the notification bar and froyo launcher

Noob-ish ques. Honeycomb on Epic

Is there a way to port honeycomb to the epic then turn down the resolution to where it looks like gingerbread.... I saw this done on some other phones.... if it could be done would it be worth it..... would there be any performance gain...
Sent from my Evo Killer using XDA Premium App
It wouldn't be worth it. Honeycomb was made for tablets, not phones. Beside, we don't even have the SDK, so there's not much to work with, so you wouldn't get any "performance gain". Just use the honeycomb theme if you want the look.
Nah I dont want the look I just wanted to know "if" all the above in the op..... I saw when you install honeycomb on a low res device the ui becomes gingerbread like and figured that might be good for having honeycomb on a phone... Honeycomb also has some APIs for game controllers and hdmi so idk I thought it might be cool to see what some of our devs might think about it....
Sent from my Evo Killer using XDA Premium App
Honeycomb has under 2000 apps and no support for anything but the Tegra 2 chipset. Not worth it , but it couldn't be done anyway since there isn't any source code for it.
How did the hd2 get it
Sent from my Evo Killer using XDA Premium App
An SDK port that runs extremely poorly and isn't worth the effort when we don't even have an AOSP rom yet.

So why hasn't google relased the source? Isn't it against the law not to release linux source?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Not at all. They are obligated to release Kernel Source under GPL but nothing forces them to release the OS's source code. Google has publicly stated many times that they are withholding Honeycomb source (for now) to avoid dozens of cheap android tablets (and I mean 600mhz processors and 800x480 10 inch resistive touch screens) from cheapening the "New" Android by running poorly.

Likely no ril at all til 2014.
Edit: the evo, desires and nexus r rockin it now. But again, no ril til 2014. Or sd/wifi/etc/etc/etc... lol

When you drop the resoluton on HoneyComb, it just gives you GB UI anyways . My Xoom does it when you change the screen density.

cynagemod 9

It looks like cynagenmod 9 ics coming to our device too.
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/blog/cm9-progress-update
The first devices (besides the Nexus S, which you can already get from Koush’s section on ROM Manager) that we’ll have ready will mostly likely be devices based on OMAP4, MSM8660/7X30, and Exynos
Also, if you scroll down and look at the comments:

God, I hope we get CM7 during the 7.2 update, I need to be rid of touchwiz already.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
I have to agree. I am new to the E4GT but not to modding. I came from the USCC Mesmerize and it had CM7 and a pretty much fully functional ICS ROM. I was so used to AOSP that the thought of Touchwiz made me shiver. I do have to say that the Dev's for this phone have done some amazing things with Touchwiz though. Running Calkulins ROM and am truly amazed at how smooth it is. I would love to see an AOSP selection for this phone. If its anything like the Mesmerize then CM7 would be the logical choice to get working as it would provide the Dev's and solid MTD base to do ICS or CM9 off of. any way just my thoughts on the subject. I am very pleased with the Modding community for this phone. Looks like you all have some extremely talented Dev's. I look forward to what they release in the future.

agreed. sometimes i feel like using my evo again just so i can have cm7
Touchwiz is a launcher...it can be deleted, easily. I don't get the hate on touchwiz. I don't like it, so, I delete it and use another launcher. Its not like Sense.
I love cyanogen too, but, touchwiz has nothing to do with why.

+1........ TW4 is been pretty good in my opinion
Tw 4 has been fairly decent but can't wait for cm 7 and 9 to truly show what this phone is capable of.... it runs pretty fast with Tw when we get hardware acceleration in cm 9 ... wow

I personay feel that Touchwiz is OK. I just prefer a more pure Google experience. Now Touchwiz on the Galaxy S was horrible but this new Touchwiz seems pretty decent. But I welcome the chance to get an AOSP ROM on this thing and see what its truely capable of.

I don't understand the hate on TW either, it's just a launcher and I deleted it, I use ADW Ex so it never bothers me.

Twiz is more than just a launcher it is a complete is overlay. It changes some of the options in settings and among other things... I prefer also because I love how simple but intricate it is.

Sounds like the CM9 team will get ICS on our E4T sooner than later

I'm looking forward to CM9. My last 3 phones had CM7 on them. Getting a little stale. At least running the nightly roms kept me interested. I got rid of my EVO at nightly 260ish. Damn that's a lot builds! I just flashed the ones people gave rave reviews of.

I'm not convinced that it's anything more than a launcher. Different things in the settings screens are a reflection of the rom so far as I understand it.
However I am open to being wrong if you have information to the contrary.

I hate it, it just sucks badly I mean its good if your trying to get to the end of a long list but is bad when you just want to get to the middle. as much as I tried to let it grow on me I couldn't, it was just to fast and it would lag most times. if this is like a new feature instead of a bug for me its truly a step backwards plus I never had an issue trying to get to the bottom of a list like xda on GB.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
It personally does not bother me at all. If you don't like the scrolling but want to stay on ics then try a aosp based rom instead. There are several options.
The older builds of AOKP either fixed or just didn't have that massive scroll acceleration that touchwiz based roms did.
