No it doesn't damage your battery. The precaution is there so your phone doesn't run out of power while you're changing system files

Hello all, I'm new around here, and new to all this concept of rooting and stuff and I've read around and found whats rooting and stuff and I find that I need to root my phone to get the most out of it.
So what I really want to know is whats the best ROM for making my device fast and have a good performance.
And
Whats a good kernel to use?
Thanks for everything

Cyanogenmod 7.2 by Phiexz .. Great Rom!!!! just search in here in XDA ... And if you want ICS or Jellybean google search "Maclaw Gio ICS" and go to the first link and check it out ! these are all really stable, fast roms with good performance and great battery life:
A good sense rom with a better battery backup ....
all i need is good battery backup
am happy with cyanogenmod7.2 one day batterybackup am happy with it but i want something new and better
I've tried many rom but didnt like any of them yet soo stick back to cyanogen ..
but if you using or know any better sense rom give me the link to download directly
basically battery depend on background running apps ? and kernel ?

ROM comparison threads are against forum rules. Best thing to do is to try different Roms for yourself.

I really like what i read on this amazing device , i would like to buy it in the next couple of days ,but i really need your recommendation on couple of things :
1- Battery life :
most of the review i read , tested the I9090 , it did ok in my opinion , but someone pointed out to me that the i9092 my drain battery due to the dual sim and it has double antenna ,
2- Battery life/ custom roms :
i took a quick look over the original android development sub-forum , and i'm not sure if there's a bug free rom , what i mean dual sim is the essential reason for, i'm buying this device
so if by flashing custom roms to have better battery life (Win), and a buggy second sim (lose) , what your thoughts on that ? is there any stable roms ?
3- Original roms :
can you provide some insight on 4.2.2/4.4.2 , battery performance
4.4.2 isn't released to my country yet , just a couple of patches for 4.2.2
i wouldn't mind flashing another 4.4.2 rom
Here is the catch , i do a 24 hours shifts , sometime up to 30 Hours , i must have the phone by me at all the time ,i take many calls ,i move a lot ,and i can't just put it to charge .
i will outlast the phone , or it will outlast me
best of regards
I really appreciate your help on this
Any help , guys

first the i9192 variant behaves in battery life same as i9190 !! the only thing in the kernel battery drain issue and its fixed by flashing silviu's kernel for i9192
-for custom roms we have until now a s5-styled rom by ploiki \ adityapal \ shawn killer KITKAT... also we have no-knox full stock rom JELLY BEAN \ KITKAT by silviu and also thanks to k2wl and f4k we have stable cm11 carbon rom for i9192 with dual sim ... lollipop is WIP
- battery life is very good

Hi guys, it's my first post here, so sorry if I will wrong the section.
So, I have a lot of problems with my Note II: slowdowns, "the process has been stopped", etc.. :crying:
I would like a rom stable!! The most important thing is stability, fewer bugs possible, and with the Note features...
Who help me?
Eclipse Rom is what i recommend

Do you wish a stock rom , A custom rom ?? .
If you took the first option then i'd recommend KitKat with Nadia custom kernel , i've used it , it's good .
If the second choice is your preference then first i'd suggest you read about how these things work and how they are installed , the custom recovery . etcetera ,before taking any step through the process
Then and this is an important approach : Focus on the model of your phone and be careful , flashing the wrong ROM might mess with the soft of your device , and you won't like it trust me .
and good luck
Any cyanogenmod ROM should be fine.

...he wants the Note features, including spen! No way to have this features in an acceptable way on any kind of rom except those one TW based. So he can decide to stay on pure stock, maybe rooted, debloated and xposed or on some Note 3, 4 etc port - or simple reinstall his updated stock rom if he doesn't want to mess around.
If you bought a Note I suppose it is for the S Pen (on my N3 I coutend 3000 charging and 2600 spen in/out), otherwise any S series would be fine, and speed and rock solid CM would be a good choice - obviously if you don't use the pen a Note is a S...
