Calling All Devs and Themers - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Foxstar wants you.
In order to bring the latest and greatest I need two or three people with a decent knowledge of debugging, development and java/xml to help me with foxstar.
PM me for more details. No testers needed atm.
Themers i need you. Foxstar gets no love in the theme section, so I need some help pushing out quality, non bugged themes.
Love,
StarskyROB

We need themers, devs, and testers. Thank you in advanced. Either leave your Google+ name here or add me on Google plus. Rabbit Garcia.

Hey there. Just added you on google+ I'm not a developer, but I'm definitely working towards that goal currently. Not too sure where I'd fit into this team, but I already have experience in theming and am (literally right now) working on ROM development, lol. Lemme know if I can help
Glad you guys are happy to join. I know this forum is aa little disjointed.

Awesome, glad to help with what ever I can
If you guys are still looking for help, I would be interested. Taking a break from school and would like to learn Android and how to dev. Not sure how much help I would be right of the bat. I currently work in software verification for embedded systems on turbines. Most of my coding experience is scripting in LABView, so I don't think that is you helpful here, but as I said, I understand the basics and would love to learn. I will be looking to learn on my own, but I think a team environment would be good as those more experienced could help guide me.
Hey im M&S a Developer/Themer and the face of ADT for the GSII.
Although im not looking to join, me and my team could do a little joint work in the future with you and yours.
You can check out my work in my profile, all my threads are locked but whatever lol
If you need anything let me or my theming partner Evi1Art know...

Becoming a ROM Developer?

I've wanted to create my own ROMs for a while since I had my old Evo but didn't get around to it. I know that the easiest and most common way for newbies is through the Android Kitchen but I've read that the kitchen is meant mostly for HTC phones and the initial list that I saw here on XDA (updated in Summer 2012) does not include our Galaxy SIII. It does include almost all of the other Galaxy models. I also read something about YAFFS having something to do with the kitchen too, that most high-end devices don't include this which is a reason why the program doesn't support our devices.
Anyway, I have read that there is a possibility that it was supported or there was a file that I could use for it. So I was wondering if this was a method through Android Kitchen or another way of creating a custom ROM.
Do some research on "Aroma Installer". Also, pm a developer of a rom that you find stable. Ask them if you can use their rom as a base. That is a great place to start. Even before you ask, just download a rom. You can load it on your device, modify it on your phone, and zip it up. Just do not post it for anyone else's use without asking the developer. If you don't want to use another developers work, start with stock as your base. I strongly recommend that you start there, gain some knowledge, do a ton of reading, and report back after. For the most part, developers are very friendly and willing to help. However, they don't want to teach you the basics or the lingo. I build my own roms, just for me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you very much for the helpful post! I kind of figured it was just modifying existing ROMs. But I'll check out that Aroma Installer and see what I come up with.

Well alot of the times people join a team and get taught the ways of making a rom!!!!!! Im going to be doing a team memeber Search soon. alot of Team rejectz memebers are still in SGS2 section and we need some over in this thread
That's something I thought about doing lately. I've been flashing roms for years but never attempted to build a rom. Maybe time to do some research!

I actually have an idea for you guys. If you want my help, I'm willing. Create an amazing stable rom, and create themes for the most popular NFL teams. Then, package it as the NFL lovers rom and include nfl apps and game watching tools. That's a big market.

I've seen these teams across various communities and scenes but I'm curious in what sorts of ways do each member in team contribute to the overall project? Is it like a construction site where you have a welder, crane operator, etc. where each person does a different job or is it something different?

well i look at it like this, Im the founder of Team Rejectz but this isn't a pyramid or some type of dictatorship, nor will you be judged for being new. we're more like family and all though some of us have our own projects we still look out for each other and teach each other what ever we learn or know. Its always good to know that if you ever need help with something, there's a teammate a text a way or call, to help you out and make sure your getting the right info and not some imitation developing.

To all the great development teams

Im starting this thread to let people show some love to all the great teams here. So put the developers name tell how they've helped you and give them a thanks. I have to say personally I am very impressed with everyone here the way they help each other out. Im seeing it alot more with these jellybean leaks developers coming together and sharing what works for them and what does not jumping in and out of each others roms to lend a hand. So heres my thanks to you all for the hard work and the countless hours your working on here with all the issues in the world going on your still here helping. Lets not limit this to certain people if someone showed you the way when you thought you were at the end of your rope show some love let them know how they helped and tell them thanks

Sure. Pm ur gtalk.
You could be my prodigy
Closed at OP's request

Attention any new potential Devs

As most of you guys and gals know I have the S4 now. But I still have my E4GT as a WiFi only device.
So the reason for the new thread:
If there are any inspiring Devs or Themer out there. I can help by flashing/test your themes and builds. Now I can't troubleshoot phone or txt message issues but I can help with the overall build and theme.
I can also give pointers and help with install scripts. But one clear thing: I will not build you a ROM or a theme....only help or give a hand
I will do the best I can. As we know the Epic community is getting kind of thin. I know there are ppl out there might be the next greatest Dev for this community. And this community has give me so many things/mods/themes/knowledge.
I just want to help and give back to this amazing community.
If any other dev/themer/experienced user would like to join in as well, it makes it that much better.
If anyone is interested, can read up on what they want to do and is motivated. Please post here.
