I know this has been brought up several times and I still can find a resolution, but does anyone know how to turn off vibration on the lockscreen when unlocking? I've gone through all the settings on my phone and couldn't figure it out. I'm on AOKP r28 and I don't even see the option on Rom Control.
There is another thread going on right now. I was wondering the same thing and I think the general synopsis is no you cant.
I'm surprized custom roms don't include an option for this. I'm not a developer but it seems like something easy a developer can create to enable/disable.
[MOD][SOURCE] Disable lockscreen vibration on any ROM
Solution, sorry, maybe not for noobs:

Errr, what am I doing wrong? Apparently my phone doesn't have any custom lock screen settings. I don't know if I'm just this dumb or blind but I can't for the life of me get/find the lock screen settings
I flashed Starburst rom about a month ago and it had the lockscreen settings but I haven't seen the menu since. I have flashed multiple Calkulin versions, Blazer and UnNamed roms. Right now I'm on modem EL29 and Calkulin v2.8 with Team Venum ICS theme V2.0, if it makes a difference.
Please, please help me through this. I feel like a noob for asking this but a custom lockscreen is the final step to make my phone 10x better than any body's else lol
If you want truly custom, get Widget Locker or GO Locker.
Otherwise... I just looked through my phone and I can't find the settings, either. >.>

Lol so the screenshots in threads from the devs are lies???
*sigh* yea I have been using Go Locker whenever I want the true custom look. Guess that's my only option then lol
Figure I'll bump this one more time. I got some time to fix this today, so hoping for something from the smart people here.

I went and looked at Calkulins v2.8 and I didn't see a lockscreen mod listed. You need the lockscreen mod to have the lockscreen settings. Not all ROM's are created with the same features, so when you change a ROM from Blazer to Unnamed to Calkulin you may gain/lose some features depending on what the ROM includes.
You might want to look for the "13 lockscreen mod", but double check compatibility because I believe Calkulin's ROM is odexed and you need to make sure you have a version of the lockscreen mod compatible with an odexed ROM.

Click the BLEND in my sig and flash 2.6.0 and you will have one HELLA Fast rom WITH the lockscreen settings baked in. Here is the thread for the rom HERE
Try settings> location and security> set up screen lock
also settings> display> screen display> Lock screen
hope that's what you're looking for

GoLocker is one alternative, but there's a security vulnerability if you plan on using a pattern/pin lock. See my post on same in General section.
Recently I've been playing around with MagicLocker (free in marketplace).; not as many themes as GoLocker but more secure.
This is a must feature that I NEED.
Does anyone know how I can make it easy to toggle it???
If that option is not available, is there a way I make it go away??? There are a few Roms I wanna try that doesn't support this feature.

That's not exactly what I'm asking. I know it does do that though. I have tried CM9, APEX, AOKP(current), Paranoid Android, Codename Android, and JellyBean.
I just want to know how I can do this(like remove the Softkeys entirely or create a toggle) when I find a Rom that looks interesting that doesn't support the feature.
I dont own the Nexus but on my Galaxy Tab I have Galaxy Task 14 rom and it comes with an called "Hide Bar". It hides the Honeycomb soft keys. You should give this app a try and I think you have to be rooted.

you named more or less all custom ROMs you will need to ask the dev to implement it, i think. don't that there is an app solution or sth like that.
Am I mistaken, or is this a feature that is readily available in certain ROMs? You're talking about getting rid of the Back/Home/Recents, allowing full 720p glory, right? I'm trying to remember.. I want to say it would definitely be a feature on Paranoid Android, where you can hold the power button to enable/disable the soft keys (it was one of the icons at the top). Hopefully this helps.. Paranoid Android is the way to go if you absolutely need some certain kind of crazy/abnormal setup. (I really want to use it more than I do.. until this phone no longer is my primary contact number.)

There are many ICS Roms that I wanna try(not switching to JB yet. tried it and I'll let devs toy with it more) that doesn't support it to "maintain" the experience of stock.
And I have seen that honeycomb app. It only works for Honeycomb.
On the LMT thread there is a full screen toggle app that let's you hide the soft keys with one cluck. Its called fullscreen. apk.

OK I found it but it doesn't seem to work for AOKP(I Know, it already has a toggle, just testing before I switch over).
Does it only work when there is no toggle built in???
EDIT1: NVM I figured out that u must reboot for the toggle to have any effect.
It works though.

Yeah it needs a reboot to work. But its the only option that works on jelly bean for now. If you are still on aokp then why don't you like the built in feature?

I'm getting irritated of all features in AOKP.
I don't know why but the features are really irritating me.
I've decided to go stock and move with the fastest and most battery efficient Rom.
The Redemption Rom.
And lemme tell u it's fast.
And actually I do use the built in softkey mod feature. Just fed up with the lags and many features(dunno why, I was getting mad though every time I used my phone).

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
I would like to have a T9 Dialer, customizable Quick Settings toggles, battery percentage icon, and a kill all button in the Recent Apps menu.
I'm basically wanting a stock-ish ROM with a few tweaks from custom ROMs. I know that at this point maybe I should make a custom ROM for myself, but from what I understand you need to know how to code, and I don't know.
I just want something simple without confusing menus that some custom ROMs have with too many options (with all due respect to every dev out there).

before doing anything i would advise you to read the stickies by efrant on general.
browse the rom threads on the dev section for your variant, and see what you like. there's some pretty minimalistic roms, very close to stock. try them out and choose for yourself.
or you could just have browsed the "Themes and Apps" section...it has all the mods.. it's actually kinda surprising you didn't find it..oh wait, right.

I checked the stickies just now, but didn't find anything relevant to my case... Or maybe I just missed it.
And yes I know, I tried a few ROMs already that are stock like, but they seems to always have something I don't want or missing something I want. And I found a few of the mods I mentioned already I think, like the Quick Settings toggles, but I couldn't find the rest, so no need to be arrogant.
"Customizable Quick Settings toggles" and "kill button to recent app menu" are features which are actually pretty IMPOSSIBLE to add into Stock Google's Android ROM.
Customize-able quick settings porting from e.g. SlimROMs to CM is pretty hard.
It would take over 2 years to get half of customize-able quick settings into Stock ROM by editing .smali files.
If you want those 2 features then you don't have any other choice than to use AOSP ROM, I didn't like Custom ROMs but when I made my ROM from CyanogenMod sources I just loved to CM and now I really like CM even when I miss stock Android.
arrogant? who knows?
on the other hand, if you already tried it ALL, and don't like any, i advise you to start building from source. it's what i and a few others do. smalli editing...why, when we can build from source?

It wouldn't take 2 years to modify .smali files. All you need is the same apk/jar(s) with and without the mod. Then you can decompile to get the .smali and see all of the differences with a program like beyond compare. Then you just make the changes into the stock apk/jar. The hard part is getting the same exact apk/jar with and without the mod (you could build from source, add the mods, and build again...but at that point, you may as well use your AOSP rom you learned to build). I do not think anything is impossible by smali edits, just harder to find the exact changes in 'smali' format (no github for those ).
I actually wouldn't mind building from source. That would get me a ROM that would be exactly what I need, which is pretty awesome.
But the question is, do I need to know how to code? Unless it's very basic stuff, I don't know how to code. How would I proceed with all this? Can someone get me a reliable source of information?

I did... Just that at the time, I wasn't searching for things related to building ROMs. If you directed me there because of that, sorry, I misunderstood then.
Anyway, those links only talk about building from source... So how would I add the stuff I mentioned like T9 Dialer and Kill All button and such? And where can I find those?
Dig in that thread!!!! Damn it, if you don't even know how to build from source or haven't even made an effort to, why do you want to know how to cherry pick and Kang the work of others? Read that thread, there's a lot of info in there.

Hello,
First off, awesome work on PA, and it's a really awesome and stable ROM.
I only have one problem with it right now: I can't seem to make the navigation bar appear
I've searched through all of the settings for anything that would enable it but I couldn't find it.
I've tried both Immersive and Non-Immersive Modes, as well as Using Immersive Mode with all three settings (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48801767&postcount=10) and it never "shows up".
I understand that there's a setting to use the PIE controls, but even when I reset the preferences for that, and selected the "No" option to using it, I still can't make it appear.
I've used PA with the navigation bar before, so I'm not sure why this would occur only now.
Really hoping you could help me, so that I can stop using the physical buttons if possible
Thank you in advance!
Enzo

Ohhh, did not know that one, thank you very much for the quick response!
Just add the title says I've been having this issue ever since i started flashing custom ROMs. This only happens in custom ROMs with either custom kernel (flash) or built in kernel. At the most random times when i go to wake my device the screen will stay black but the phone is still responsive. Led light still flashing from notifications I'm trying to check i can still toggle flashlight but holding the power button and etc. It's just the dam screen refuses to wake until around 20/30 seconds!! No one else is having this problem in the rom threads which would be DU help thread, NOS, and AquariOS THREADS. I've tried everything to remedy the problem including clean flashes whipping caches no modifications. Nothing has worked. Just wondering if anyone experienced the same thing and how to solve the problem. Thanks in advance.

I've seen the issue of which you speak several times in the threads. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a good solution to the problem. If it were me, I'd RMA that thing. Are you having the issue as well just running stock+root? ?

That's why i posted here because i don't wanna keep spamming the threads. I would've thought to RMA but this never ever happens on stock+root+flash kernel. It's so frustrating because it's so hard to pin point what's going on so I'll try a clean flash tonight after work and then i will only install Flash kernel and magisk (those can't be the culprits and i would refuse to believe if anyone said otherwise) I'm also only gonna install my basic most needed apps it has to be one of my user apps not playing nice with custom ROMs but every single app i have running right now on AquariOS is the same exact apps and setup i have on my twrp backup of stock. This just don't make sense. Stock is really really nice on this phone but i still prefer custom ROMs for certain much needed features that i either can't get from stock or have to install some mod or something. Thanks for keeping tabs in me tho Badger!!?? Your a good man really appreciate your help bro

I also saw it might be to do with smart lock, have you got any of them set? It is being looked into so dont worry you are not alone. Last time it happened to me I just added another fingerprint and then it was fine.
Just a thought, but this is known to be an issue with various immersive modes. Are using immersive modes on these custom roms, or is it already built in?

The Custom Navigation Bar app dev has said that they identified and fixed that issue in their app. That would explain why you don't experience the issue while on stock using that app, but do have it on custom ROMs using some other immersive mode method.
