[Q] App to change notification sounds? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Is there an app to change notification sounds to apps that only use the default notification sound?

Zedge you can go online and make your own and use the app to get what you made on your phone

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked out both of the apps above, but neither can do what I'm looking for...
For example... Say I'm using hey tell.. It has sound notifications when I get a message. But the notification is the system default and you can't change it in the app. I'm looking for something that will if it even exists? I don't want the same sustem notification for like 20 different apps
Actually in the new update heytell added the ability to change the notification sound. But the same situation applies for many apps...

With Zedge you should get a popup saying Zedge notification or android system I have jarvis from iron man saying you have a message sir for my text and master I have mail for you as my Gmail notification and I have different sounds for all my contacts

add your FB to accounts and sync. You can do this either from Settings>accounts and sync> add account or from the app itself.
Cheers.

Can't get my notification ringtone to change.

Going into my settings, then, sound, then notification, i can't find songs that are on my phone. What am i doing wrong?

settings, -sound,- notification,- then Android system. Ringtones you've made should be located under there. However when making ringtones how you save em is what they can be used for, meaning once you make a tone and if you save it as ringtone it won't show up, has to be saved under notification ringtone.

Try handcent. Worked on my epic 4g. Or try using whatever app u used to dl ringtones and set it via that app.

Try android ringtone picker. It works very well

Android separates out your media and your notifications/alarms/ringtones so that way your notifications aren't cluttered with 1000 songs and your songs aren't cluttered with ringtones. If you want to use a specific song as a notification, go into a file manager and on your internal sd (not external) follow this path:
media>audio>notifications
and put your song in that folder. If it doesn't exist, create it. This way Android will put that song in with your list of notification sounds. Same goes for alarms and ringtones:
media>audio>alarms
media>audio>ringtones

Using your stock music player, find the song, select menu>set as .... and make your choice ....
Also .... there's an app that is as old as Android on the market that you can use to trim and set ringtones .... ringdroid ..... get it!
When I set my default notification for some reason when I turn off my phone or restart it the notification sound changes to what I changed it from. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8

Can we make a list of apps that support Jellybean notifications

Can we make a list of apps that support Jellybean notifications, would be nice to be using apps that support it.
so far itll be all the core google apps, tunein radio, and pulse i think.
Pulse doesn't, so far all I've seen are the core apps, Tunein, and Notification Toggles. Anyone see any other apps with it?
Can you post screen shots of notifications?
I do not get gmail, extended notification nor call back/SMS for missed calls
Twoons supports Jelly Bean notifications. It's a twitter client
Imgur For Android supports it too.

Multiple gestures work. Two finger pull down, two finger rotate, and two fingers pulling apart vertically all work.

How does it work on yours? It doesn't work on mine.
I think the stock SMS and Gmail apps could be doing a much better job of utilizing the new notification style. All they do is show expanded views of messages. I'd like the SMS app to give me quick access to calling the sender or deleting the message right from the notification, and Gmail should let me delete or archive messages without going into the app. The missed call notifications (where you can choose to call the person or send a message right from the notification) are how it should be done for all apps where it makes sense, and I don't know why they didn't do the same for SMS and Gmail. Maybe they will eventually.

I thought there were? Will have to double check when pulse shows up on my notification bar and report back here
Foursquare has Comment and Like actions on checkins.
Pulse definitely doesn't do it. Unless this is something in settings?

Unable to change notification sound in handcent

As the title says, when I select a new notification sound within handcent it still is the same default notification sound as selected in Android settings. Is this pretty typical? I haven't had this issue with my old x10.
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
This may be a dumb question, is it possible that although you selected a notification to use the radio selection is still set to use the default? Also which version of handcent are you using?
Hmm I donno exactly what u mean, but no settings are set to default.
I'm using the latest version of handcent.
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
I've had the notification setting from within handcent revert to the defualt ringtone in the past, even after i had specified a different one. I don't know what else to suggest other than uninstall and re-install handcent and see if that helps. Other than that maybe contact the developer from the market page, as this is likely an app specific problem.

Ok I'm running 4.4.2 Sickness Version 2 on a fully rooted S4, is there any way to use different sounds for sms, and email?

.... you can change your SMS sounds in the Sounds menu in Settings... As for the e-mail notification sound, that should be somewhere in your e-mail app's settings.
Thanks, I'll look in there while I have this post pulled up
Ok it works if I use the email app to set up Gmail, but can I change the sound in Gmail on the phone? I'm looking right now
Never mind I found that in the gmail app. if you want to reach through the computer screen and Gibbs smack me for asking before looking feel free to do so

I'll put a shout out for Light Flow. It lets you customize notifications in a very detailed way. It started as an LED flash customizer, and built up from there. I've got three Gmail accounts on my phone... each has a unique sound, LED color, and vibration assigned. So, I can hear, feel, and see the different notifiers. Works great if I'm in a meeting with sound and vibrate off for discretion. a quick glance at the phone shows me if I've got an email in to my "important" GMAIL account, and a different color/flash rate if there was a text waiting.
Check it out. There's a "lite" version of the app but I'm a paid user... it's worth every penny.

I'm not one to gush over an app, but damn Light Flow rocks. It has changed my relationship with my phone, making it so much easier to understand what's going on. And a lot less annoying!
