I have no idea how one would edit the APK to work, but I'm wondering if someone could patch this to work on the Galaxy S2, I fell in love with it on my Note

I've tried decompiling the APK to see what I can gather from it. At least based on what I'm understanding, I don't think the "primary" software is the photowall.apk itself at all. It appears to just be the setting screen, and configuration related things.
Perhaps someone with more knowledge could help? It might be embedded within Touchwiz itself though, which would suck, but ah well.
Oddly enough, I was going to close the thread, it wouldn't load in Gingerbread, or LPQ, However, on the new build of LP2 ICS, it loads without a hitch, so I don't need anyone to fiddle with it Thanks for your effort!
Don't mind me, just informing you that Photo Wall.apk from the SGS3 works just fine by installing it.
I must say that it is quite laggy, but I'm pretty sure it's the phone itself not having enough memory.
EDIT: You can't choose your own gallery, just tried it. It switches back to the default screens you get with the app itself.

I've asked a few times in the general forum unsuccesfully to see if anyone knew how to fix this, and just bumped my last unsucessful attempt, but I thought maybe this would get me a little farther. Can someone maybe try to get the original nexus s launcher to work right for eg22. I was using ai3 for a while and I knew that ef02 was having the same issue but marcusant was able to get the nexus s launcher working. Basically when you try to install it/including the versions from the market , they will display strangely and fuzzy like they are in the wrong resolution or something. If anyone would take a crack at it though, that'd be awesome.
Last minute notes too, I've tried pulling the launcher2.apk from marcusants rom and put it in bonzai/stock eg22 and that didn't seem to do the trick either.

There is a 7 homescreen gingerbread launcher in this section somewhere. If I can find I'll link you to it.
There you go:

Thanks, it does the same thing though unfortunately.

Marcussants is themed though correct? Perhaps replacing the images within the launcher with high quality images is what should be attempted.

Hi All, I originally had a SGSII and then sold it and changed to the Galaxy Nexus just before Christmas. Now the one thing I absolutely miss is the brilliant Stock Alarm clock, which had the options to do pre-alarms and other stuff and basically just worked and even managed to wake me up which most dont seem to do that well.
Does anyone have the apk that they could point me to as would love to see if it works in my new phone.
Thanks in advance,
GD
Just wondering if there is a way I can extract it if I download a copy of the stock ROM? I'll pop it up somewhere for others once I get it out since I've spotted a number of posts asking for the same apk.
Its good to share
GD
Hello
I was searching for the exact same thing, cause i have the exact same problem! Did you find a way to do it?
I download one other alarm app but i dont like that solution, id rather have a native alarm clock with that integration, pehaps can't we notify android team to put it as a upgrade? Also, the app ive downloaded doesnt bring me the same experience i had with gs2's alarm... I have trouble trying to waking up but that alarm clock seems to resolve it..
Please keep us informed!

Hi vpena, glad its not just me
I've not had the chance yet to work out if there is a way to pull it from a stock rom, but will have time probably Friday to do the leg work. If I get anywhere I'll be sure to post it here for others to benefit from.

Here it is, ripped from the ICS leak. I bet it won't work on a GNexus, since it probably relies on the TW-Framework.
Don't install through ClockWorkMod or open the apk on your phone, the zip file contains an apk which you should push to the system/app folder. You should probably know that already though.

Thank you! Using it on Spike's awesome ICS ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1451346.
Thanks xethor, I'll give it a shot anyway as there is no harm in trying.... I looked at Gentle Alarm but it was just too much of a faff and over complicated for what I want....
Cheers, GD
Unsurprisingly it didn't work, but do appreciate people getting involved and hopefully someone will benefit from having the apk.
Cheers, GD
Hi guys
I originally asked this in the Q&A section a week ago, but I wasn't sure if it belong here in the apps section instead. Since I didn't get any replies, I'm thinking maybe I should have posted it here to begin with. I hope someone in this section might be able to help.
If I'm not supposed to put this in two areas, I apologize. I'm not too forum saavy; just looking for help for my issue.
Thanks a lot guys
--- Original post ---
Hi everyone! This is my first post here so I hope I'm doing this right. I'm not sure if this should be here in Q&A or in the App section but here goes.
I really love my Epic 4G. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was still running Dk28 with midNIGHT rom 3.1. Then I finally switched over to the wonderful CM9 Beta1. I am loving it so far, but there's one thing that bothers me. The camera.
One of the things I used to use on the camera very frequently was the panorama/wide shot function. I really hate the sweep panorama of the ICS camera because with the crafts I make, it's just horrible and it's always distorted because sweeping and me don't get along. The camera that was on my leaked Froyo had the feature where I would click the first picture, and while moving to the side a green box would guide me and then automatically take the next shot when it lined up, then I'd move again and it would take the next shot. It would then put the images together for me.
I really need that feature back. Is there a way that I can install that camera app back onto my phone in addition to the updated ICS camera? I really like the smoothness and speed of the ICS camera for normal picture taking.
I can pull the camera.apk from my original install, but as I said, I don't want to overwrite the ICS one, which I fear because they have the same name and I don't know if renaming it will make the difference. I want both. If someone could guide me in getting both on my phone, that would be great. I'm sure there must be a way, but I don't know how to do it. I've read a lot on these boards so I figure if anyone knows how to help, the great minds here do!
I hope I've explained this ok. If I'm not clear, please let me know. Thanks much!
p.s. I've tried a number of camera apps from Play. I don't like the wide shot ones where it has a ghost image for you to line it up manually either, so please don't suggest that.
I'd love to see the old TW camera on CM9. The ported TW apps thread a couple posts down mentions this, but i haven't seen anyone post a successfully working version yet.
Hopefully someone who knows what they're doing can figure it out for us. *crosses fingers*
Wishlist? Anyone?
Lol....I was running the peoples rom last week and was wondering the opposite. If there was a way to put the ics camera on that tw rom. That's an awesome rom and has the tw camera (obviously), but maybe just flash that and try it for a while?
On a side note.....Not sure if its just me, or does does the ics camera take much better (normal) pictures, even when zooming in quite a bit? I've been wondering if something was done in ics to better utilize the camera hardware.

I find the ICS camera to be really nice for just normal pics. Definitely faster and does seem to be on the clearer side. But I'm really needing that old auto panorama/wide shot feature. (non sweeping motion or ghost line up).
Hi guys, I was looking for a camera that has the features of the Nexus, I mean the live effects; like big eyes, big mouth, however the funny stuff and I couldn't find any so I installed the stock ICS one to see if it works and every time I choose the live effects option, it force closes. I was wondering does anyone here know how to get this to work.

there may be some libs you need to make it work so , but you would need to see what libs that the apk is relying on ...... if any ...
It appears Samsung has removed the ability to adjust the text size in the stock email app. This was available in the Note email app. I know I can change the system font size but everything else is good. Anyone have a suggestion other than going to a 3rd party app.
TIA.
Why not try replacing the email app with the one from the Note and see what happens?

I did this, but unfortunately our screen resolution is too high - maybe I mean pixels per inch (ppi)...
the note and the SII were 160ppi, and I think this one is much higher. The Note and SII (ICS) email apps are too small for the SIII.
If someone can find a way to fix that it will be perfect!

Most likely going to end up the same way as other GS2s. I don't think any of the older email apps from Sammy will work because of the ppi. We will most likely have to wait till a dev is able to fix (if it is even possible), or Sammy keeps reading how much people hate this email app and they fix it.
Let me know if it works though!

I surrender SR apps didn't help. I guess I am reloading Enhanced Email.
I like to use K9. Started using it with my Captivate when I first got it, and have stuck with it since. Handles everything I've thrown at it
