I have two Major problem using after market ROM's
First -
My keyboard and haptic buttons do not work a lot of the time. Often they will work for the first boot only after a clean install.
Does anyone have a quick fix for this? One that is not a fresh wipe (I have done this a lot)
Second -
My contacts are weirded up. It seems I've super synced with my GMail and I am getting loads of random number (A lot of them from abroad). Also the number I did have (Friends, Family etc) have now disappeared.
I cannot call my girlfriend but I can call a Kebab House in New Zeland!
Weird stuff going on. Is this ROM specific? I'm using Andromadus but this has been happening since A13 and now Beta1
More then likley rom specific, or a bad flash

Looks like specific ROM issue. I never experienced this.

Really strange.
I would say ROM Specific but i've tried several Andromadus versions and never had that kind of issue.
What surprises me most is your google sync problem. I've installed many different ROMs many times and never had a single problem with numbers disapearring or unknown numbers appearing.
I think that you won't have any other choice than installing an other ROM and see what happens.
Solved the Contact Issue
Thanks for the advice. It turns out I sold a spare handset and stupidly left my GMail logged in. He then overwrote his contacts from his SIM to my GMail. At least I think this is what happened.
I just went to Gmail and reset my contacts by Two Weeks and it worked a treat,
Still having the Keyboard Issues with Andromadus but I just bought a Touchpad so that is keeping me busy now...

I love the Dial by name aka Smart Dialing feature in the hacked Dialer used in AOKP and CM9 roms (all custom roms?)... but the damn thing locks up so many times it's annoying.
I have my Gmail contacts and I also have corporate exchange contacts. A few times a day I start to dial a number and it'll freeze after 1 or 2 numbers. I have to force close the dialer (press and hold back) or wait until it eventually force closes and allows me to close it.
Pretty annoying.
At first I figured it was just beta and would eventually get ironed out... but it's been a few months now and it seems the dialer is the same old dialer. It's acted out on just about every rom I've tried. I suspect it could be my exchange contacts and perhaps a poor data signal (maybe?). The contacts get synced and should be physically on my phone, but my new BlueAnt Q2 won't speak the names of my corporate contacts, but has no problem with my personal Gmail contacts.
So I'm wondering how it actually works and perhaps put a nail in this dialer lockup (and fixing maybe fixing corporate name announce would be awesomesauce). At this point I'm about to just manually import my corporate contacts into my personal gmail, and not sync contacts through my exchange... but I'm now sure how this would effect the Email app autofill in.
I have the same issue at times, I have 4 google accounts synced to my phone and thus a lot of contacts sorted (two business two personal). It doesn't happen every time, but when making lots of calls, it does happen with regularity. I would love to help figure out what the fault is.
-D
T9 has always worked fine for me in CM9; I do hear quite a few reports of issues with other ROMs when they port the CM9 dialer however. Not sure what the specific issue is, but logcats would likely help the ROM developer(s).
Well I suspect it is the syncing of multiple accounts. If you just have one, its fine, or make a lots of quick calls in a short amount of time like trying to get a hold of anyone of a group, like work.
What happens is that you'll be making several calls and out of the blue, you start to dial another name and it falls on its face. It doesn't FC but eventually says it stopped responding.

Fwiw I have both exchange and Gmail phone contacts. I don't make a huge volume of out going calls however so that may factor in.

I used to experience exactly the same thing. I have 1 Gmail and 1 Exchange account.
However since flashing the latest Gummy and the latest Nitroz theme I haven't had to force close it. (2 weeks and counting roughly).
I can't be sure if it's the ROM or the theme but it has been great. I make alot of phone calls as I only have one phone for both work and personal use, I must make a minimum of 40 calls per day...

To be honest, I haven't experienced it in a while either. I'm running the latest Axi0m AOKP 4.0.4 Hybrid.
Maybe its been updated or patched.

Desire HD with Lord C's 5.5 ICS Rom.
I've had a few problems with the rom so am doing a full wipe and upgrading to 6.1, with as few titanium backup restores as possible this time.
I've had a few texts not appear on my phone? They show up as sent on other people's phones but I don't get them? Happened twice in two days, with two different people (one from an iphone 3gs and another from an android, not sure what phone). I have hundreds of texts with these people and didn't ever experience this on gingerbread roms (I used ARHD and CM7 for about 6 months each).
Any idea what might cause it? I'm using stock sms app, and I'm about to do a full wipe and upgrade from 5.5 to 6.1.
I opened go SMS and didn't see them; they aren't on my phone and I don't receive notifications of them.
Thanks
I see you're on Orange. I would say that is your problem.
Nowadays it only happens every now and again. You should get the messages in a few days.
Sent from The App that Time Forgot.
I'm not convinced; there was one that was sent on the 9th march that I haven't ever received, and I've only had the issues since ICS.

dropped texts are a very common problem across any network and phone. Lord knows how many fights ive had because of a text that said "do you miss me?" that i never got lmao. Anyways, what specific data are you restoring from backup with tibu? I'm sure the answer is no, but were these texts sent to you during your upgrade process of flashing the phone?
In the UK texts are actually really reliable; obviously you don't always know when they haven't delivered (orange charge like 3p per delivery report, no thank you to an extra £30.00 a month!) but I've never had anyone mention "oh, didn't you get my text" or feel that someone had ignored me pre-ics upgrade. I assumed that their phone was the problem, but after it happened several times I've decided it was me
No they weren't send/received during flash; I tend to flash a rom and then (as long as it's stable) stick with it. The last time I flashed a rom was a couple of weeks ago, and only as an upgrade.
TiBu is just restoring small things like wifi netwrosk and fruit ninja scores haha
Having full-wiped and restored SMS, call-log, re-setup accounts and got the majority of my apps all sorted, the phone seems quite stable. Had 2 reboots during the first hour or so but I think that's probably down to everything running for the first time, it seems rather stable now.
I've got alogcat running & saving logs to sd card so we can see what's causing any reboots if they occur too!
I switched to CM11 M6 several weeks ago and for the most part, it's head and shoulders above any CM10.2 build I ever ran - CM10 was crashing left and right, CM11 has been rock solid - HOWEVER - one thing (well, two things) have been driving me nuts. The smaller one is the mail app - I HATE the GMail-ish 'thread' layout and 'colorfication' (There are no words to adequately describe how much GMail SUCKS - to have it seep into my Exchange mail is infuriating). Is there any way to can the 'new' format and get the old one back? But the thing that's REALLY driving me bananas is the contacts.
I only sync contacts from one of my three Exchange accounts. I also don't sync with GMail, Skype or any of the other accounts I use. JUST the one Exchange account. The other accounts don't have contacts selected for sync. On my S3, I've got a ridiculous number of random duplication of contacts and random contacts that I have NO idea where they came from (They APPEAR to be e-mail addresses that I have received messages from in the past).
For example, for one contact, there are three copies: one that is just his work address, and two that are exact duplicates of each other, right down to the picture I made part of his entry. Another contact I have three identical copies of. Another I have four different copies of. It's got some contacts that are more or less duplicates of others, but they're displayed as 'Lastname Firstname' in addition to the proper contact that is displayed as 'Firstname Lastname'. Another contact I have 8 (yes eight) copies of - Two duplicates and six with random other contact info.
The Contacts app claims I have 600 contacts - I don't have anywhere NEAR that - the vast majority seem to be e-mail addresses that I've sent and/or received messaged to/from.
Does anyone know WHERE THE HECK it's getting all this garbage from? I NEVER had any issues of this sort before with any other ROM or build...
I'm not too sure about the Email/Gmail layout you'll have to look through themes/apps for that one,
The only temp fix for your contacts issue I can think of is removing your account with the contacts and re-sync after doing a cache and dalvik cache wipe.
If that doesn't fix it then it's just the ROM itself as the M6 is one of the buggiest of all milestone releases, whether or not if it was dirty/clean flashed.
Applications FC and sync errors occur often and depending on certain device revisions for the d2spr ART would sometimes
work and not work. ( With me, Apps that are ART compatible would even FC )
Try using the CM11 M7 release for d2lte as this ones a bit more stable then the M6 release, or simply wait for the M8 in July
as that one will have the 4.4.3 coding in it.
Hope your issue is resolved and GL =x
Well, unfortunately, no dice. After upgrading to M7, I removed the account, rebooted to recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache 5x each, booted back up and re set the account up - same deal. It's so random and stupid it's crazy.
It's funny you say that M6 was the buggiest of snapshots - This is really the only issue I've encountered. It's been absolutely rock solid for me otherwise. OTOH, CM10.2.x, which was supposed to have been polished, was total junk. Constant random freezes, reboots, FCs no matter what build or how I installed it.
Have you tried doing s clean flash ( make sure to titaniumbackup ) to make sure it isn't buggy or unstable?
Hey guys,
A few weeks ago my Verizon Samsung Note 4 received an OTA update - nothing major, I believe it just added some security patches and removed some bloatware. But since then, my gmail app has not been syncing properly.
The sync is definitely still ON, because it does sync sometimes but it's very sporadic. But it's not syncing as soon as emails come in, and often it will take a couple hours for new emails to show up (which I can see if I'm home near my computer). Some mornings I'll wake up and my emails from overnight will be there, and some mornings, nothing will have synced from overnight.
And as far as I can tell, there's nothing specific that finally prompts it to sync (in other words, turning my phone on, or simply opening gmail doesn't make it sync. It just seems to be totally random).
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!!
Dude I though it was me.. I been having the same problem. Anyone else having this problem and figured it out?
Same
I got the 5.1.1 update 8 days ago and exact same issue. I've been through 3 factory resets both using previous backups and starting fresh. Also used troubleshooting fixes from other posts... clearing data, clearing cache, turn sync off/on, removed/added Google account, etc. Nothing so far
Same issue here...
Strange. I've also taken the update (actually, if memory serves, there were 2 updates within a couple of weeks) and aren't experiencing the problems you all are seeing. I know, that doesn't help you any.
Hmm, well it does help to hear from others that are having the same problem, so at least I'm not driving myself crazy trying things that won't fix it! Thanks for the replies.
And of course, if anyone has any solutions, I'd still love to hear from you too . . .
I know this also is not much help, but I've sent an email to the Dev but no reply yet...
Same here in note 3 and since updating gmail app my gear 2 no longer gets notications from gmail even when gmail DOES show up on phone notifications.
Leave it to Verizon to screw everything up after finally making some big progress with the first 5.1 update. That update fixed SO MANY issues I was having with the phone. I was ready to switch to a new one, but the update made me want to keep it. Then I wake up to see this latest 2nd update was installed without it asking me, and now I am having major issues with things like Gmail not syncing, but also answering a phone call is horrendously bugged. I will have to swipe the green answer button like 8 times before it actually picks up the freaking call. My wifi will randomly stop sending and receiving any packets and my signal will just drop out completely, airplane mode doesn't fix it and it requires a hard reset. Like holy hell Verizon, what the actual freak do you guys do to your phones...
For months I have hardly problems with this android.process.acore has ended message in my cm11 rooted fire phone installed nano GAPPS (but even with other versions of GAPPS the Problem stayed the same). I have no idea what to do any more, flashed and backuped everything again and again, deleted and restored the contact-datas the way it is discussed in many forums. The problem disappears while disabeling the contact-storage, but this way I cannot use my Fire Phone for phoning from the contacs anymore much less using contacts in Whatsapp . The problem seems to come along with WhatsApp and Facebook and its Messenger, but once installed the problem android.process.acore does not disappear when uninstalling these programs. Anyone got an idea? Thanks a lot for your help!
That's strange, has there been any recent updates to your phone?, i don't know how long you've been on cm11 but amazon recently stopped supporting Facebook who also owns whatsapp. I know someone on stock whose messenger and whatsapp stopped working and the tech on mayday had to relay that to them. Idk if they stopped support through an update or some other means since I haven't been on stock for a very long time. My advice would be to take a logcat and post the issue in the cm11 thread if you can
<romario3600> Thanks for yor advice. I've been with CM 11 from the very beginning and I don't really remember when the problem started, might be like half a year before.. That's weird, for any reasons that android. access. accore disappeared now after uninstalling both facebook and its messenger. Didn't know that the support stopped and this might have caused it. I got a solution now with a third party facebook version by apache. It's working well until I found a solution for my problem.
I have still no idea...
Now the android.process.acore is happening again. I uninstalled all the apps (facevook and it's messenger) that caused the malfunction. Now I got another app called Immonet that claimed the same rights with synchronisation owitg contact data. I uninstalled this app with all data and even wiped the old folders. But the error promt does not disappear anymore I did not find anything all over the net anyone having the same problems that I do.. Anyone got an idea how to solve this one out? I'm so much disappointed, hardly thinking of buying another phone but I like this fire phone with CM11 a lot.

As a last resort if you have the time and effort to put in, id say revert to stock and do a factory reset the normal way using the fire phone's recovery. That should at least ensure that everything is wiped and back to default. After that try downloading and installing CM11 again, don't cut any corners where you might have to wonder if something went wrong. Once the systems boots properly try installing the play store as well as messenger and whatsapp and see how things go from there. avoid rooting the device until you are sure things work
I got another completely new fire phone, rooten CM11 now from the latest FireOS 4.6.1..1. and at the beginning everything worked fine up to now. Now I got the same android.process.accore message again on this completely different device. As this problems is not very common I got now the idea that it might have anything to do with the synchronisation of google contact and it's permission management with these programs that have the rights to read sync the contact storage. But no idea ehat it might be exactly. A while ago I deleted all my contacts on the Google server. Is it possible that the synchronisation got a problem now with my different devices that were once registered on the server with not always having the very same telephone directories? How to solve it if my venture is right?
I just solved this (I hope, so far so good) on my Sony Xperia Z2 tablet. I cleared data on any and every app that had anything to do with Contacts. I went right down the list in All Apps. If it used contacts, I cleared it. That meant Gmail and Hangouts, Messenger, etc.
Before I did this, I tried to write an email and litterally had the error with every single letter. Since I did this, I haven't seen it once. I wrote out an email address on a draft email and posted 2 posts (this will be the third) here. No error yet!
Not an expert. Just a user and fellow acore victim, sharing what worked for me. Though I have been in tech support for 17 years (just more of a Windows PC tech really).
Gabrielle
I will check this out on the weekend when there's some time for me doing so. Will tell you if it worked.
