Guys,
I just unlocked my Samsung galaxy s2 phone officially from ATT. If your purchased phone has surpassed 90 days, then you can call up ATT and ask for the unlock code. I just did mine last night and tried a tmobile sim and it works fine.
Just provide your IMEI number to ATT representative and you can get it unlocked officially and it will maintain your warranty period.
Thanks,
Hey, yeah most people know about this as it pertains to pretty much any AT&T phone...plus there is a free app in order to do this.

As stated, this is known.
Did you get the Verizon model from Samsung? can you use it on other networks? is it unlocked?
I am buying the note 8 and Samsung is saying it will be locked to Verizon. I called Verizon to find out how to unlock the phone and they said they dont lock any phones.
So did you get a Verizon phone from Samsung and was it locked, if so were you able to unlock it?
I ordered my phone from Samsung. Powered it on, activated it, then popped an active T-Mobile SIM into it and it worked. Therefore, you should be getting an unlocked Note 8 from Samsung if you order the Verizon model.
Edit: I have the S8+

I bought a Verizon Galaxy S8 + from Samsung and it is unlocked. I am using it on AT&T at this time with no problems. The good thing is that I can still get Verizon updates.
you should buy the unlocked version thats not carrier specific and not loaded with bloat and you'll find it discounted more often than not
I want to pre-order samsung galaxy s9 and s9 plus for me and for my son. the both phones will be from t-mobile and I have a question. can I unlock them the same day for at&t ? we have a great at&t plan with cheap family calls so I want to use at&t instead t-mobile. I heard that some newest models are hard locked so want to make sure before ordering. thanks

It depends on the plan you get from T-Mobile. There is are two things you need to do before trying to unlock it. Once you get your phone check the following:
1. Check your T-Mobile folders if there is the Device Unlock App installed (by default it should be installed on your phone).
2. Check your phone's IMEI in the T-Mobile database by using their service here: https://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx
If your phones have the app and are not blocked it means that they are eligible, so you should be able to unlock them and even use a service like here: https://www.unlockunit.com/unlock-samsung-galaxy-s9-062472

As a policy, the device can be unlocked with the T-Mobile Device Unlock app 40 days after you activate the device for the first time and if the device is paid in full. To activate the device, the SIM card must be inserted into the phone and be active in the device for 72 hours for it to register in T-Mobile's system.
If the device is not paid in full or if you do not want to wait the full 40 days, you can pay for the device to be unlocked remotely through Android SIM Unlock or similar websites. http://www.androidsimunlock.com/phone-unlocking-service/tmobile-device-unlock-app-official-unlock/
Just make sure you're choosing the Device Unlock service since a standard SIM unlock service will not work since you are not able to insert a SIM unlock code into the phone.

Same.
What is the proper procedure to unlock an att s9 to use with another carrier?
The process is basically the same as any other smartphone. Buy an unlock code (this should work for you http://www.androidsimunlock.com/unlock-phone/samsung/galaxy-s9/), insert a SIM card from another service provider, this will prompt the SIM unlock screen, enter the code your purchased and the phone will be unlocked.
wait for few days. some developer will develop customer rome for samsung galaxy s9 then root your mobile and flash it and you mobile will be unlocked. s8 custom rom are available.
SamKey.Info supported directly unlock via usb cable !

T-Mobile S9+
So I purchased this phone from T-Mobile, and tried to switch to sprint. I had it unlocked but they still couldn't pry the phone. It seemed to have only unlocked it to AT&T. Has anyone else home through this or know how to fix this issue?
You can get any S9 or S9+ variant unlocked through Ebay including Sprint:
https://m.ebay.com/itm/SPRINT-SAMSU...?_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649&_mwBanner=1&_rdt=1
Also can do Bad IMEI devices also. Look through items for other carriers. 100%guarantee.

Be very careful that it has a clean IMEI. If it's a stolen phone then you have a nice expensive paperweight.
You really want someone to do a search for you?

If your buy your Samsung galaxy S9 or S9 plus from t-mobile and want to use at&t after unlocking, then you have to use the t-mobile device unlock app to unlock your phone. This is the only option to unlock your t-mobile Samsung S9 or S9+. Only phones purchased from other than t-mobile or metropcs usa can be unlocked using unlock code.
You need open the t-mobile device unlock app and select the permanent unlock option to proceed. you will get unlock successful message and it is unlocked. if you are getting the message "Unlock Failed: This mobile wireless device is not eligible for unlock. For Device Unlock eligibility details, please go online or contact Customer Care." then you have to submit your request for unlocking to any third party unlocking service.
You can can use the below links to submit your request to unlock your Samsung galaxy S9 or S9+ through t-mobile device unlock app
unlock samsung galaxy s9
unlock samsung galaxu s9+
https://www.samsungsimunlock.com/sam...y-s9.htm#model service didn't work for t-mobile.. got the successful unlock message but didn't work with at&t sim.. waste of $13

Doubt that you will get very far with a Blacklisted IMEI...
Do you know why it's Blacklisted?

Apologize ahead of time but been out of the Android/rooting game for a while now. Just want to know if root is still a thing and if the T-Mobile s9 can be rooted?
As far as what I know, which isnt much, there is no root for tmobiles snapdragon galaxy s9 or s9+ due to locked bootloader (no OEM unlock option in developer settings) There are only certain varients of the device that are able to achieve root. Exynos CPU based and international variants from what I understand. I too have the same tmobile galaxy s9 and have been checking every now and then just hoping. Sry to be the one to bring u bad news.
