I don't get why the desk dock is taking so long to become available for the galaxy nexus. Everywhere I look it's still on pre-order. Here are the sites i'm looking at:
https://www.expansys-usa.com/samsung-google-galaxy-nexus-multimedia-dock-225460/
https://www.mobilecityonline.com/wi...c&utm_term=EDDH1F8BEGSTA&utm_campaign=froogle

Does anyone know a place selling this?
no place is selling it, thats why your only finding it for preorder.
latest release date from negri has it at sometime in either the end of this month or february
Well, I ordered both docks (desk and car) from Bell last Friday and they're supposed to be in the store by tomorrow. They seemed to think that it was no problem ordering them for me because according to the system, some of the stores already got the desk dock.
Anyway, I'll check back tomorrow although I'm not very optimistic.
My theory is that they did not think very hard about the power button being inaccessible when the phone is in the dock, and they are redesigning it.
I know, it launches a dock app when in the dock, but having owned several phones with docks I can tell you that being able to press the power button is darned useful:
- The screen might keep me awake at night.
- I might be concerned about OLED burn in.
- The battery might charge quicker with the screen off.
The desk dock may not have a problem with the power button down. They COULD have a bump in the base and just pressing ANYWHERE on the top edge of the phone could depress the power button.
At least that is how I plan to build my desk dock!

Well there's not much they can do now, because it's almost like the issue goes back to the design of the phone itself, having the power and the 3pins on the same side.
Anyone tried this?

This is most likely the case. If so it was a GENIUS design decision.
Perhaps google is still working on updated desk and car dock applications and Samsung is waiting until those are finished to release them.
Also, the nexus one the car dock was released 3 months after the N1 launched. (April 6th)

No....there's no 3-pin connector. It's just a generic dock, nothing like what is being discussed here.
I want this dock like yesterday. Desk and car dock.

Let us know if you get them today. I'm surprised that some stores have them in stock already. I just called the Bell flagship store in Montreal, and they don't have any, and they have no idea when they are going to get any...

Just got off the phone with a lady at the Bell store in Oakville where I placed my order. She said they didn't arrive today, but was able to find out they would arrive on Wednesday. Now, I'm not sure if thats 100% fact or what she was told but I said I would call back Wednesday. She also said it was both docks (car/desk) that would arrive.
I'll post here then.

I personally won't order it on line (as I do NOT believe that they have it in stock -- they have been known to give wrong information in the past), but as soon as it is in the stores, I'd be happy to pick one up for you and ship it, assuming it is available here before the U.S.
P.S.: I just called a few stores, and no one has it yet.
Just because it's not in stores doesn't mean the online orders won't ship out. Maybe they have more inventory. Someone order this and find out! haha
Is there anything available yet? Ideally i'd like the horizontal multimedia dock for home and my car, but they keep delaying the release (4/5/12) now.
Seriously, how hard is it to shop online?

Nope nothing out yet. There was that $90 Samsung dock for pre order but it's off their website.
If someone were to come up with a pogo dock they would make a killing.
Just going to give you a warning. Samsung and others have claimed that the pogo docks won't be released until the Android 4.0.5 update comes out OTA. Supposedly, there is an issue that is caused when the phone goes into Dock mode.
Please use the search function on the top right of the website, there was a thread about this just a couple pages back.
There are SEVERAL threads on this some of which are 20 pages long. I guess OP can't be bothered to search.

I need an MHL adapter ASAP. Does anyone have any experience with this MHL adapter?
Thanks!
EDIT:
What about this one! http://www.amazon.com/Skiva-Adapter...F8&qid=1341247731&sr=8-5&keywords=mhl+adapter
I have that one. It's worked with both a LG G2X and a Samsung Galaxy Note. I think most devices need to be hooked up in sequence for it to work properly (charger first then HDMI, or vice versa).
Edit: Oops, I meant Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket, not LG G2X (that one had its own HDMI out). Too many devices last year...
The reviews from people owning the Galaxy Nexus state that it has awful performance.

I just noticed the extra reviews. I need one for vacation, and this was one of the top ones on Amazon. If this doesn't work, I can always return it. That's not a problem. I just really need one.
Do you have any recommendations for MHL adapters on Amazon?
What about the other one in my OP?
I have the Skiva one. Works well. I PM'd you about it.
If you need one "ASAP" why not just run down to the TMobile store and pick one up.
I just bought one off of monoprice, 9 dollars. I'm sure by reviews it will work fine and monoprice has never failed me.

I don't have a TMobile store near me at all, and plus, I'd like to not pay out me butt cheeks. I need one by tomorrow and I figured I could use Amazon and get it for cheap with one day shipping with my Prime account.

That's too expensive when I toss in shipping. I would definitely have checked them out if I would have thought about this sooner. Sadly, I just thought about it last night, but I was busy with work.
Could I get this adapter and us it with the custom JellyBean ROMs? (specifically Viscious Liquid 4.1.1-V1).
http://www.amazon.com/Micro-USB-HDMI-MHL-Adapter/dp/B005NG71K8
It looks like that one goes to a regular HDMI (instead of micro HDMI) which is nice, and also has the USB port extended for charging as well.
Thanks!
I can't say if it's the exact same or not, but mine looks identical to that one, right down to the writing on it. I got it from monoprice (actually cablesonsale.ca, which sells monoprice stuff in Canada). It works great.
The micro USB port isn't just for charging though... you have to plug it in for the adapter to work. At least with mine, anyway.

Not sure if you were laughing 'at' or 'with' me, but whatever - I 'll still update this post when I get it.
I just realized one thing I'll miss about my Transformer is having a physically connected keyboard that I can use while travelling by plane. From what I've read Bluetooth keyboards are a no-no for in flight usage. Has anyone used a USB connected mini-keyboard using the Samsung USB adapter? I also know Samsung will be coming out (from what I've read here) with a keyboard dock but it's not available yet. I thought I also read somewhere that the Tab 10.1 dock will work with the Note 10.1.
Has anyone had any luck or a good setup for using an in-flight keyboard setup for the Note 10.1?
Hello.
I use this one http://www.logitech.com/fr-fr/mice-pointers/mice-keyboard-combos/6229
Works perfectly, both mice and keyboard .

Exactly. Might not be BT but anything wireless shouldn't be used in flight.

Ok, I know everyone will probably gag on this but...
As I was reading this thread, I went upstairs and obsconded (kids dont use it, WTH) the WII Usb KB and connected it. Works fantastic!
If you have one laying around... it may solve your want.
I picked up the official Samsung keyboard dock last week, it works nicely for that purpose!
http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/...es/EKD-K14AWEGSTD?subsubtype=other-multimedia
Unfortunately, it's expensive and not available in most stores yet. Picked it up from the Samsung store in Sydney CBD.
Just so you know, Australia and USA both use the US keyboard layout (as opposed to the UK, which uses the UK layout), so maybe that could help you guys in the states source one of these? You won't have a messed up layout like you would ordering from the UK. Then again, I don't know any Australian place offering these for shipping internationally so that could be moot.

Very frustrating to not have these available for purchase in the US.
Is it possible to close it? Like the transformer or a regular laptop? Dont feel like not being able to close it..
An extra battery would be nice though incase of very long flights or train/car rides..
It doesn't hinge so you can't "fold" it closed like a regular laptop. Instead you just pull it out of the dock.
I know it has been discussed but I wanted to share my work. Not beautiful but it works. This is the dock for the Tab 10.1 modified for use with my Note 10.1
