Hi,my wildfire s was updated from 1.66.401.1 directly to 2.13.401.3 and is now stuck in the white screen (without logo) and continues in a bootloop. Bootloader menu didn`t work. Computer, of course, doesnt see the phone I know it's because I don`t update hboot. But there is any opportunity to fix the phone?
What do you mean by 'bootloader menu didn't work'? Did you try to remove the battery and then use vol down + power ?

You don't normally get bricked when you update your firmware especially if you are s-on and with b/l locked
You should go to the htc shop and show them your phone. They should replace it or atleast repair it.

They should still honour the warranty if your not unlocked and an official update caused the problem.
I think he means the time period of the warranty is over.
Silly question but does the orange/green led come on when you connect it to the charger or computer?

Red led lights up for 10 seconds, after that phone tries to turn on, and starts blinking again.
Is HTC sync installed on your computer? If not, then install it. Because without the drivers, your computer won't recognise the phone.
Do you know how to use adb?

can you boot into fastboot??
(remove the batery re insert it again after 5 sec and then hold the volume down key and power button for mostly 5 sec)
if you can do so then download ny rom extract it and then use the adb commands..
for that you will need adb files
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?b6mk4b8p1xm5nok
download this zip .. unzip on desktop/there are three files in it if the three files are in the folder named android then remove the three files from the folder and paste the three files on dektop..
the rom you downloaded .. extract it..
and copy boot.img and system.img to desktop
when in boot loader.. the fastboot option will be highlighted select it
to select press power button..
when done connect the phone to pc. (dont forget to install htc sync, cuz you wud need drivers for the pc so that it can detect your phone..)
and then go to start menu on task bar..
select Run option..
in run option write cmd and click on ok
from now press enter after every command
Code:
cd desktop
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
now remove the cable from phone..
remove the battery and try rebooting the phone..

i dont get you
If its a softwer problem i dont see why would they demand such "high prices"(you never said how much exactly) if they have the right eqipment compleatly reviving a dead phone will cost you around 20-30 euro. If thats high for you i guess you are right. But if its a hardware problem i dont see how a dev forum would help you. I'm a noob so i wouldnt know ...
Service Center wanted to change all motherboard, and demanded $195(!!)
I found information about the device, called RiffBox($100-$150),I will use it. And in the future I will never go to such foolish service centers

I had MIUI on this Desire (it's my dads) but it have some bugs so I wanted to return it to defaults. I downloaded the RUU_Brav2_UK_1.20.207.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06 .00.02_2_release_124865.exe file from this thread. During the install on my pc, an error occurred. Something like certain files couldn't be written. Now when I power on the phone I get a HTC logo with 4 hazard signs <!> on each corner. Even trying to get into recovery holding power and volume down does nothing.

What does ALL the information on your HBOOT say?
The error message mentioned about unable to copy files. But the dialogue closed and I didnt have the information. Only thing I got as I said is the HTC logo with the 4 exclamation points around each corner of the screen.
My phone or computer isnt giving me anymore information, at least, I don't know how to access anymore. Only thing I know is power+vol down but that no longer works.
Edit: Here is the error message in fact:

OK well, assuming you are on o2 UK, the one you want is this one:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe
Now what you need to do is pull, the battery out. Reinsert the battery. Hold Back and press power to turn on. This will put you into fastboot mode. This would normally be a white screen that says fastboot, but now it will be the screen with the 4 /!\'s on it.
Now connect the USB cable, wait at least 5 seconds and then run the new RUU.
Let me know.
Edit, You definitely didn't s-off or change the hboot or anything did you?
I did exactly as you advised. Still getting the exact same error as the image above.
In regards to S-off. I'm worried by your words. The phone did originally have S-off with the MIUI. So now I'm worried I owe my dad a new phone..
Did it have the cm 7 hboot?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
I dont know..but I will go with no since I don't know what that truly is. All I ever did was root it using the instructions on this forum, then install MIUI. Then I went to this.
If you were willing to start a new thread you should also be willing to read an existing one. Read my troubleshooting guide.
hmm well. Your tutorial talks about:
S-OFF
[STEP1]- download "Bravo Stock" from Alpharev
[STEP2]- download Android Flasher
[STEP3]- use android flasher to flash "Bravo Stock"
[STEP4]- run the RUU again and wait for it to finish

How do I flash this bravo stock? It's an iso and the programme doesnt like it. Does it go in bootloader? I dunno.
And the gold card method requires me to enable debugging in the menu which I can't do since I'm stuck in RUU mode.

Were you even S-OFF? if you weren't then there's no need/ possibility of playing about with the hboot.
Trust me, everything is there. You just need to read it, problem with goldcard? look in the goldcard section.
Or if you're lazy you could risk using the 2.3 RUU.
The phone was S-OFF before this DUU. The flasher programme in the tutorial doesn't like the iso file to flash it to either.
What iso file? There should be no ISO. fIle
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
Sorry, forget ISO, I was looking at something else.
Here are the stages I've done thus far.
Downloaded bravo_alphaspl.img
Ran AndroidFlasher, put bravo_alphaspl.img into the bootloader area.
Ticked box saying I'm already in fastboot.
click flash.
Then I get this:
writing 'hboot'...

Here is all the information I have, in case someone has a fix.
My desire was on MIUI. I then tried another rom, which I didn't like too much either. I foolishly decided to use a wrong stock file and ended up locking my phone into RUU. My phone is now S-ON. I've tried all suggestions in this thread and I went over the troubleshooting thread.
The goldcard tutorial blew my mind, but I tried anyway and fell on the first hurdle when the ReadCID programme doesn't work (Win 7 x64). And I have the right framework installed.
At the moment the phone is a paperweight and I will have to find him an another phone on ebay, since it was my stupidity which bricked this.
If anyone knows a simple way of fixing this, please let me know. Yeah I said simple, because although I have messed with roms, I still know NOTHING. Look at my previous posts in this thread, I clearly don't know what I'm doing which is no wonder I bricked it.
In case this is bricked for life I'm off now to find a phone on ebay. Not an android phone as I'm sure you will agree, for a 65 year old man, who knows NOTHING about android phones, he will never use it to a fraction of its potential.
I hope someone will find a solution, then I can at least sell this on ebay to recoup my losses. But until then, its time to spend money I don't have.
Thanks in advance.
Can you boot into hboot / fastboot?
Im not sure how to find out. All that happens is when I power on the phone I'm stuck in RUU mode. Androidflasher does interact with it, but throws up errors. Complaining that my phone is S-ON so cannot continue.
Your question does not help me at all. So turn off your phone. Now press and hold first volume down (alternative: back) button and then power button. Do you get a white screen with three androids at the bottom after a few seconds?
All I get is the HTC logo on a black background with 4 /!\ around each corner.
If I plug in a usb cable and remove it, the screen turns white with the following information:
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANE-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.09.05.30_2

Is there a link to this 2.33 one? Ones ive tried so far were wrongly RUU_Brav2_UK_1.20.207.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_124865 and then RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed. Neither which works.
I have searched high and low for an answer to my problem for the past 5 hours. Haven't found a solution or guide on XDA or anywhere else that can help, so I am making this post as my last effort.
I bought an unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus off of ebay knowing that it was stuck in a boot loop. I figured it could be fixed. I may be wrong.
I AM ON A MAC The pictures have Windows but I am running Parallels and it sucks.

I get this for a few seconds, then it goes away, vibrates, and comes back ..... over and over.
I can get to both Odin mode and Fastboot:
This is no problem.
I even managed to get CWM on the phone and to come up:
My issue now is that I can't get ADB to work .. Wugs ToolKit won't work ... Galaxy Nexus ToolKit wont work ... nothing.
I can't be 100% sure that USB Debugging is enabled as I can't get past the Google Logo.
Is there anything that can be done to save this phone ... or is it a fancy paperweight?
I have an N4, I just bought this because the seller had no clue how to fix it, and it was a good deal. (not to mention I was planning to use it as a dev device for apps and such)
Thanks everyone!!!

Unfortunately so ---- Windows XP and Windows 7 both ... I may try again tomorrow : /
Ok, so here is my status now ---
Flashed stock image using Odin. Said it was completed and successful. Gave a big "PASS" message.
Rebooted phone, and watched the Google logo bootloop for 30mins.
On the plus side, my phone is now getting recognized as an ADB Interface --- but only in Fastboot. When I enter Stock Recovery or CWM Recovery, I can no longer use adb.
1 step closer, or totally effed?

Yes it does, but only in fast boot.
Other things I found:
-My battery is full. When I plug it in it shows it's charging then shows me battery life, shows full.
-When I turn it on, it gets stuck at Google screen
-When I go into fastboot my computer recognizes it, but after flashing anything to it, it just continues to be stuck on the Google start-up screen
Update since I've written this post... when I plug it in, it wont go past the 'showing that it's charging screen" I have to wait till it shows battery status before I can go into fast boot, and now it wont even do that... neat. Headed home, then i'll swap batteries and try it all again.

My device always get warm when the battery is low.
You can't switch your device after charging it for about one hour ??
I'm trying to "Factory reset" in HBoot mode.
But it 's fail, HOX was turned off itself.
Trying to charge on recovery mode.
but nothing change. (stock rom)

That 's only way to solved this problem?

The reason of my replies is that I'm sure that 90% of people won't create a new thread and wait for this reply (Send your device to HTC service). In addition, the thread written by mike1986 >> http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/2013/03/unlocking-bootloader-or-flashing-custom.html .
Anyway, thanks.
Om not talking about making new threads. When somebody comes in with a full locked bootloader never tell them to unlock it. They will deny warranty when it appears to be a software problem. That article is nice.....but certainly does not count for everybody. 100% warranty with a locked bootloader no discussion there. Why take the risk ?
Unlocking is a absolute last resort !

I just wait official stock rom 4.2.2.

It was die when screen is showing "phone reset" image.
So I have tried to unlock bootloader.
Try to charge it for boot to Fastboot mode.
First time, Hox was switched off itself after I get code.
I have tried again (flash unlock bin), it was showed message successful.
But "Accept unlock permission" screen never show, then it was turned off itself again.
At this time, this is strange, HOX is charging!!!
Now, I have factory reset and lunch it on stock rom which HBoot is "Locked"
Thank you again.:victory:

Will this restore an IMEI number after a botched unlocking?
(The IMEI is good, legit, and mine--I messed up a step in FreeGee and now it reports as 0.)

I have never seen that error unless they had server maintenance. You might want to reinstall and try again mate

This is the one I have used the last 5 times under a variety of messed up situations and it always works. READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND TAKE YOUR TIME. It seems like a lot to do but it is not that bad after the first time you have all the files. Make a "Phone" folder on your computer and put all the files in there and keep everything nice and tidy. Follow the instructions and it will fix just about everything.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660
P.S. When you get everything downloaded and unzipped..and you start flash tools with a # you found on the internet..maybe something like 39B0-IH19-4UAO-G6T8. you have checked manual mode on flash tools and put in the file locations in the top two slots, and you finally hit the yellow arrow at the top left....it will say "waiting" for about a minute. THIS IS NOT waiting on you to plug phone in!! You plug phone in when it says ready and that window with "waiting" goes away. Do not unplug the phone either just because it reboots. You need to wait until the bar turns blue and it says complete. This happens around 522 seconds or after.
this just saved my phone from being stuck on recovery! thanks!
I wonder if anyone has solved the battery issue with this method ????
Many users report that while using this method all goes well till around 45% complete and they get a message "Can not continue due to low battery level, please charge phone fully and try again".
This despite the phone being fully charged.
A very common problem it seems.

wanted warranty back!! plz help
Is this method resets the binary counter on my device?? And do i get my warranty back! plz help.
the reason behind doing so is...
1. When i was on stock unrooted new phone all seemed good.. but after 3 months when i open gallery app half of the imaged is gone. i have to again tap on screen to get back the full image. half upper screen gets randomly colored including the status bar. i thought it was an rom issue. so i rooted and put the custom (g2 apps added) rom. but the problem still continues. so i decided to follow these instructions. but can i get my warranty back? please help!
I am doing this right now and it says it is downloading but I don't see the progress bar

I got an error at the begining of the flash, something like "too many files opened" and stop flashing. I aborted the process and now my f3 is dead, black screen, not recovery or fastboot. Windows desn't detects anything. Some help would be appreciated.
I am afraid you must put your F3 in EDL mode(Google it) basically it involves shorting of two pins in the phone to activate the EDL mode, you need to remove the back panel for that. After you put your phone in edl mode it will be recognised by your pc and you can restore it from there

What have you tried to flash? Using what?
Once you put the device in EDL mode you can use a fastboot rom to reflash the device, I have done this to Mi A1 which was in similar situation as described above.

Thx a lot, I've been reading about edl connection but didn't find this info. My doubt now is to do this and lost my waranty or send it to SAT and asume the risk to be charged.

If it's under warranty give to the store they may repair it for free(possibly change the whole motherboard), if it's not under warranty or if they charge you with some insane amount try to go to a third party repair shop ask them to open the back panel and ask them to put it in edl mode and reflash it(if they don't know how to do it, just get the phone opened and do the other steps yourself). I am asking you to visit a third party store to open up the phone because the back panel is glass (glass is glass and glass breaks if not removed properly)

In future don't flash xiaomi.eu with fastboot...
I remember reading that it overwrites critical partitions during flashing , there's a high likelihood to fk stuff up with that , use twrp instead
No twrp for android 12 yet, so...
Same thing happened to me last month. But i ended up fixing it. Its a pretty tricky process

Did you jumper the EDL test points? Did you need special tools to remove the back cover?

Well...I flashed xiaomi.eu on this phone a cuple of times by fastboot before twrp was ready and everything went ok. The difference this time is my PC was overloaded with other tasks and the error "many files opened" I got, make me think this could be de cause.

Finally I will send it to Xiaomi service. It looks easy the EDL method but as you say I would probably break the back cover. I'm crossing fingers to not be charged.
Hello I think I can help them I had the same problem
I had the Android 12 DP 5 Flashed by Munchy's Youtube channel
I had them running well until the day before yesterday but when I got up in the morning it told me that update is installed I should reboot
wtf what for update it sucked the update for the Pixel 5 and installed it I thought
ok reboot via ADB in fastboot boot ......and EDL Mode ....
then I researched and found this nice gentleman ..... I got in touch via whatsapp and the next day he did it.... it cost me 35 Euros but I think it's better than buying a new one

@ABHIROOP90
Download telegram and message this guy .
He does it for maybe 7-10$ ...
That's what he told me at least , some users say he's legit but you'll have to pay and see for yourself.
Don't know if you can't do edl by yourself as some say you need edl authorised account
That's if you want edl... But if you open the device you'll have troubles getting warranty 100% if the edl fails for whatever reason.
I'd go and give it to warranty myself...

I didn't have to open my Poco If you hang in EDL mode then you can also press 20 sec power then the Edl mode restarts and then you can flash
