Ok guys I have learned how to root a phone, many thanks go out to all on here who helped me especially Big Goron, who rooted my first phone for me using team view.
Now I have a serious question.
Today at work I looked at my phone because it buzzed as if I was getting a phone call, what I found next disturbed me a lot, somebody had entered my phone and was looking at everything on it, now I'm not the best at phones yet, but I am pretty handy behind this computer, so I get home plug the phone in a start hunting, what I found is a trace log from a govt computer that as far as I am concerned illegally entered my phone, and being that I am neither democrat or republican I do NOT want the govt in my personal phone, will droid firewall from the market work? Or do I need more security than that?
Apparently....yes they CAN get into a phone.
Since I'm the first to respond to this thread, guess I'll be the generic asshole to ask: What nonsense are you prattling on about?
All I read was a theory with no evidence to confirm such allegations.

To help ya out, please post the following... for starters...
What ROM/Kernel combo you on?
How did you tell someone was scanning your phone?
What app did you think you needed to block via droid wall?
You found a trace log, you say?
Post it.

Anyone with the Evo can verify if it has a lanyard loop? Thanks in advance!
Reason I'm asking they have wii lanyards for cheap on ebay. That added protection of sliding it tight on my wrist is good!
hmmmmmmm........ really? No response yet? I'm suprised
I read in another forum that the Evo does NOT have a lanyard loop. I do not have an Evo yet so I can't confirm.
Just checked mine and it doesn't have one.

That just speaks FAIL!
Checked mine. No lanyard loop. Maybe there will be hope in a future custom case.

yeah wouldn't trust that at all. they don''t seem to want to make htc phones with lanyard loops no more. windows did, but most androids no. there's nothing like having my phone safely around my wrist. The wii lanyards now have a nice lock like mechanism on it, and that would be perfect to keep phone secure why none?
I guess it's just not a feature that's in high demand. Oh well, some things, like infrared, just aren't a part of the modern smartphone anymore.

Hello xda community,
I just rooted my phone not long ago, I've learned a lot on xda about rooting and flashing roms so far, however, i'd still consider myself a noob..
I just flashed the mexdroidMod Ghost chili rom to my phone (thank you to the mexdroid team), and I was wondering if you guys could help me with two issues I've been trying to figure out...
1). On my notification bar theres a red icon and I'm not sure what that icon is (and how to remove it) I will provide a screenshot below
2). this is going to sound ridiculous but everytime i either make or receive a call... the picture is a spam logo... like the canned spam hahaha
heres the link for the screenshot

1) looks like a bluetooth icon of some sort
2) looks stupid. Some kind of calling feature tagging a number as spam? but not sure why that would happen on an outgoing call.
Never used this ROM. I think my 1st answer is solid, 2nd answer is completely expected.
Also, did you search the ROM thread or post in there first? Its a bit more of a targeted audience...
You were correct, the red icon is for the bluetooth indeed, I should've checked that. As for the odd spam picture, I will def try to look deeper into the rom thread, thanks for your help!
edit* yeahhh... so the spam guy is intentionally part of the rom... the rom is awesome, it was kind of funny for like.. the first 10 mins maybe, oh well
Not long after buying my S8 Plus almost three weeks ago I remembered this interesting-looking stylus I saw on a review on this phone from Pocketnow. Juan Carlos did the review and he was using this stylus:

}
I thought about this stylus because coming from the Note 5 I was feeling a little S-Pen withdraw and thought this stylus he was using might be a good way to interact with my S8 Plus similar to my S-Pen because of its fine point. They're pretty similar in appearance and from what I can see in the video the responsiveness was fairly quick.
Awesome. So I scan the entire comment section of the video and notice about 20 people asking Juan Carlos what stylus he was using and all but one actually got a reply from him and it wasn't even the answer it was just him making a silly joke about using Bixby Vision.
Dude's being super coy about giving us the answer for some strange reason. I tried to send him a tweet but I got nothing. What's up with folks who do this kind of thing? Why? Why not just share a link to where we can buy it or just tell us the name so we can go look? So strange.
If anyone here can identify what the exact stylus he was using in the video I would really appreciate the help. Minute mark 4:19. Thanks!

Thank you!!! My notifications were off for some reason and I just saw this. Thanks!
Hey there everyone,
I have snooping wife issues.
I need to know if there is anyway I can see if my wife has opened my phone. It's Samsung A70 running Android 10.
Are there any logs that show what time my phone was opened.
She probably knows my password.
Just wanted to know.
Thanks.
Help and cool comments are highly appreciated please.

Lol. Root cause analysis provided to prevent future failures...
This is what I did.
I found out my "sleep timings" from Samsung Health located in setup and noted my sleep time from there.
Then I collated it with "Samsung Digital Well-being" to see if any of the messaging app was operated while I was sleeping.
It was not.
So I'm going to change the login pin and password.
Let the kids grow.
I'll be living alone when they move out.
Maybe try using the goodlock module "nice catch" by samsung, it stores data about notifications by apps and sudden wakeup of phone.
If goodlock is not available in your country try other alternatives like nicelock from playstore or any other app that provides same functionality.
I'm just asking, is the a kid or children forum? From the second I registered, when I get a notification I just hurry up to see if someone replied to me, then it's just "you have reached to a new level"!!
I had just 44 posts (which seems noob compared to many others) and I had 20 levelsAnd 23 achievements. They're just too much, and confusing. I hope if you made it way slower than this rate. Or maybe even remove it completely. Sorry if it's in the wrong section, I tried to be in the right section.

Thank you for the help. I know I can find them in settings. But I meant as a general thing for the forum to be changed. You may consider it as a suggestion. For me I don't want to miss a thing, so I wont turn them off.
