I have a Galaxy Nexus that's paired/connected to the Parrot CK3000(?) bluetooth kit in my car. I can hit the green or red buttons to speak. However, it won't allow me to voice dial. (i.e. say "call grandma" and have it automatically dial grandma's number)
This has never been a problem with my previous smarphones, including Samsung Droid Charge, Samsung Galaxy S, and even Motorola RAZR Maxx(32GB non-Maxx version). On those phones, I just press the green button on the Parrot kit and say the number I want it to cal.
I suspect that something is missing in the Galaxy Nexus for this to work.
Any help appreciated!
You need voice dialer for this to work. Make sure it is installed and see if it works. If you already have it listed maybe try unpairing through blutooth and pairing up again.

Thanks!
So there is no pre-installed voice dialer in the Galaxy Nexus from Verizon, right?
edit: I just noticed that my Galaxy Nexus has the same "Voice Dailer" app installed as my other older Samsung phones.... so there must be some other reason why the Parrot bluetooth kit can't do voice dial with the Galaxy Nexus. I just reset the bluetooth kit and deleted all previously paired phone... then paired/connected the old Samsung Galaxy S. Voice dialer works fine. I then removed/reset the kit again, then paired/connected the Galaxy Nexus... no go... no voice dialing.... ugh..... apparently I'm not the only one having this problem... a quick search on Google showed many people with the same problem on their Galaxy Nexus... but none has a solution yet.
Strange. It could be a compatibility issues with ics and blutooth devices. Voice dialing works fine through my stereo in my car, so probably just certain devices including yours. Sorry I can't be any more help.

finally got a response from Parrot tech support... apparently I need to have the bluetooth kit removed from the car had flashed with the latest update. they will only charge me $109 for this service. I might as well buy another bluetooth kit that will work with my Galaxy Nexus.

hello guys...
just wondering if anyone of you tried google voice app on our tablet? i installed it but no luck on how to run it. i signed in my google account. but theres no way to find the dialer.
need some help thanks
Add GrooVe IP and you can have it dial with Google Voice.
Phone calls sometimes have an echo on the A100 unless you use a headset. But you still have to speak into the tablet's microphone as the headset input is "out" only.
I tested it out and it works, but it's pretty inconvenient to use a 7" tablet as a phone. (Unless you're using video Skype.)
thanks. ill try it out.
sorry but... what Google Voice does exactly? Is like another VoipCalls program?
What about bluetooth, is it audio playback only? I haven't tried yet as i don't have a need for it.

bluetooth is audio only. headset worth built in mic should work. Google voice is for texting and voicemail. I have sprint so I can port my number to google voice for free which allows me to recieve all voicemail and texts on tablet. in combination with grooveip I can recieve and place calls. so an incoming cal rings on tab and phone.

Hey all,
I tried to do a decent search before asking, so I apologize if this has been asked and my search skills aren't all that I though they were...
I have the T-Mobile Galaxy S III and I am loving it (came from a Verizon Galaxy Nexus). One of the reasons for my upgrade is the Bluetooth 4.0 support. To go with this, I recently purchased a Polar H7 Bluetooth heart rate monitor (Bluetooth 4.0 LE).
After failing an attempt to pair (phone will see the hardware address, but trying to pair returns an 'invalid pin or code'. A similar attempt on my Nexus 7 met with the same results.
A search of the internet (and the Amazon forums) returned information that there is not a Bluetooth 4.0 API for Android 4.0 (or 4.1);
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10041378/bluetooth-smart-4-0-gatt-support-in-android-4-0
Apparently the Galaxy S III (and the Nexus 7) has a Bluetooth 4.0 capable radio, but Google has not provided access to this as of yet. It also appear that Motorola had written custom drivers for the RAZR and the Droid 4 to enable their devices Bluetooth 4.0 support.
It was my misunderstanding that the Galaxy S III has Bluetooth support; I read the Engadget review and assumed that it was already there with ICS. (I tried the latest JB leak and still no luck on 4.0)
Does anyone have any insight as to when Google may release Bluetooth 4.0 drivers? Or is it possible for someone to extract the Motorola drivers and re-work them for other devices?

I understand your frustration and it sucks, try to contact Samsung I guess, and btw engadget says that's just because of specifications not bacuse they actually tested, if you read the review it didn't say it was tested at all so yeah, some reason why I never believe reviews lol

Hi, I hope you guys can help.
I'm looking at buying a Galaxy Note II in the next few days however I've just noticed that, according to Parrot's compatibility list, it doesn't work (or hasn't been tested) with their MKi range of bluetooth hands-free car kits. Now, every other Android phone I've tried has worked fine with it, but I'm a bit worried that it's not listed.
Do any of you guys have this working with either a Parrot MKi 9000, 9100 or 9200? If so, are there any limitations I should know about? This is mainly for bluetooth audio and making calls.
Kind Regards,
Kona.
Yes it works flawlessly.. no issues.....

My wife's minivan has a Parrot MKi9000 and the Note2 pairs and performs call operations perfectly with it. Cant confirm music streaming as she doesn't let me do that....
(but it works great in my Kia Ceed!)

I just bought the same RZ100 from woot I think and it won't function on my Nexus 4. The phone only sees the HID part but not the headset portion but even then the HID part doesn't work. I'm guessing it's some kind of driver issue. I happen to have a Motorola android phone at work and it connects to that phone perfectly. Is there any way of getting the drivers for it from an Motorola phones ROM? I
RZ100 works straight away on samsung s5 but doesnt work at all on Asus zenpad 7... bad luck I bought it for the zenpad bad luck
Has someone experienced this? How to solve..need help. thanks :crying:
Is the Bluetooth device compatible? S4's are Bluetooth 4.0 and I don't think they are backwards compatible.

Incorrect. Bluetooth is backwards compatible.
Wunderle, you'll need to post a lot more info than that if you want help troubleshooting. E.g., what kind device(s) are you trying to connect, do they connect to other Bluetooth devices, what steps have you tried, what errors are you getting...

I have simalar problem I have tmobile s4 stock rooted 4.2.2 bluetooth connects to some devices like aluratek istream, 2007 toyota handfree,
will not connect to 2013-2014 acura handfree systems will not connect to magellan roadmate 9250t-lmb which is a 2013 product. s4 can see item for pairing but when access code pops up to connect it immediately fails and reprompts to try again meaning when code entered on s4 it resets back to bluetooth pair list. is there a way to patch other bluetooth files or change. tested with s2 and it connects to everything.
