[MOD] Change default orientation for Virtuous G-Lite rom - G2 and Desire Z Android Development

Hi guys,
This is my first time posting a mod so please be kind if i made any mistake.
I have made this mod which sets the default orientation to landscape instead of portrait, those of you who have used a Dell Streak 5 before would know what i mean.
To elaborate a bit more, whenever you disable auto rotate, your screen would default to portrait, but after applying this mod, your screen would be in landscape mode after disabling auto rotate. This mod is great for those, like myself, who prefer using their phone in landscape mode and wanna avoid the lags between changing orientations.
I have only tested this mod with the g lite rom but it should work with all other asop based roms. IT DOES NOT WORK WITH SENSE BASED ROMS!!!
MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!!!
how to use: download the attached zip and replace 'android.policy.jar' in system/framework/ with the one in the zip. I suggest you wipe your dalvik cache after applying the mod.
It took me ages to figure this out by comparing the framework to those of a dell streak. I appreciate your feedback and i hope you would respect my work.

2.- Select any Animation with any Wallpaper
3.- Day of the week as in "Mon, Tue, etc.."on Calendar Icon
4.- Red color Sundays, Blue color Saturdays on Calendar

What theme are u using? everything looks great!
Hi.
When I install the CAB, the first favorite contact image disappears and can not be added again. Someone has the same problem?
Thanks.
Ok, so noticed a minor bug (took t2 days to notice), but once installed, the bottom tab bar where the icons are located stops being semi-transparent. I checked by uninstalling to verify it was the case and then did some searching and came upon this post by cookiemonster http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4181177&postcount=47. Verified the post by going to actual reg key he references and it was blank (meaning of course that the tab bar will be solid), as mentioned. Is there a way you can fix the bg4all to bypass or set the value? As well, I end up with a small thin black bar between the tab bar and bottom taskbar. Thanks in advance.
please make for manila 2.5.1921..tnkss

[THEME][JVB] Yet another AOSP stock-like theme

I've built this theme from pieces found in other mods. I'm not a designer nor a developer but I like to personalise what I'm using.
Also, I truly like the stock gingerbread look so, I've tried over the last few weeks various combinations of colours and images in the framework and applications. Because I really like how everything came out and maybe I'm not the only one liking stock stuff, I thought to share it.
The main credits are going to Ock and Darkyy because I've used mainly elements from their work.
This theme will NOT be maintained over time and I welcome anyone who think that certain things can be improved, to modify it accordingly. Of course, the obvious bugs will be corrected as it will be found or indicated.
The theme is tested on a deodexed JVB rom so I wouldn't recommend trying it on any other rom.
This theme has:
- AOSP lock screen only
- CRT screen off animation
- Green glowing overscroll
- lockscreen, phone and clock are sharing the same style for the interactive buttons (for unlocking, answering phone and turning off alarms)
- clean battery stats (no percentage)
- gingerbread launcher included
The theme is CWM3 flashable .. but please mount in advance the /system partition (from the mounts and storage cwm menu).
I personally use ADW launcher with gingerbread look and I've used the icons from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870691
Enjoy (or not ) ...
http://www.multiupload.com/S0F8AY5VKJ
If someone wants I can provide the framework with the percentage over the battery (but will no longer look stock-like).
Nice theme, I love it!
Hi ro_explorer,
can you tell me where can I find (and how to install) only the AOSP lock screen...
I kinda like the stock TouchWiz (or I just got used to it) but the clock at the bottom of the locked screen is driving me nutz
thanks in advance!

Want stock but don't want to ditch certain CM/PA features? Read here

I've wanted to change my phone back to touchwiz for a while now but could never do it because I really liked the QuickReply feature of CM10, the per app DPI settings of PA, and being able to natively tether in CM based roms. I've finally found some solutions that will let me keep these features even in a stock JB touchwiz rom. Note that I did not develop any of these -- all I'm doing is compiling these useful features into one place.
SMS with QuickReply: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2103108
Per App DPI Settings: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106060
Native Tethering / Remove data throttle cap: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2057344
For the DPI Settings, the app does not contain something for default DPI, so I just changed that in the build.prop for that. You can do that by navigating to /system/ in a root explorer and opening up build.prop and changing the line "ro.sf.lcd_density=320" to your desired default DPI. You might have to change permissions to edit it, but be sure to change the permissions back to what they were before after you're done.
If you change your default DPI to something other than 320, you should change the per app DPI for Contacts and Clock (and some other apps) back to 320 so that you don't need to look for a modded version that doesn't look weird. I've tried searching for one before, but none of them really worked for me so I decided to leave them at 320 DPI.
I'm using Wicked v6 JB rom as a base which already has the tethering stuff applied, so that simplified things a lot for me. Thanks to all the great devs who have made all this possible!
The only thing I'm really missing now is having phablet style System.UI (I prefer that dropdown bar style better) so if anyone has any idea how to change this, please share!
I hope that this helps some of you who want to make the switch go through with it.
This is exactly whats on my mind at this moment! Thank you for this write up

[Q] Remove Dark Lock Screen Appearance?

So, I love the custom roms which allow me set to set my lock screen wallpaper to a custom image. Only problem I have is I don't care for the darkened appearance of the wallpaper. I wish I could turn this off. My research has found using gravitybox xposed module. But, as I read that thread it isn't recommended for changing one small feature on already heavily customizable roms. So I would rather not go that route. Is there another way, like maybe a flashable zip, which can turn off that darkening? I am currently using Dirty Unicorns 4.4.4.

[TW] S5 Launcher for N2, Fixing/Adding Code + Mods and DPI w/ Auto Rotation

I have used several from which all have the same issue, the "Edit Page" in landscape mode is off as well the folder preview in Landscape mode in the App Drawer is off as well.
These may be easy fixes for some but for others it may not. I was offered help in fixing these issues and hopefully many, as I, will learn off of it. Hoping in providing the fixes and code modifications here as well as added mods done to the Stock Launcher.
I have looked and the closest I have seen to a S5 Launcher coming close with everything is the launcher posted by member xxxcachepxxx here which is at 240 DPI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714071
If there is a complete launcher please let me know, I have not found one as of yet.
@tx_dbs_tx
Thanks for the background info. Sounds like some xml edits are needed. So basically you are trying to achieve a fully functioning landscape enabled S5 Launcher? From my past experiences with landscape launchers, some apps and widgets also need to be modified. I remember doing this on HTC EVO with tommytomatoe a few years ago. Ofcourse HTC Sense is completely different but the fundamentals are the same. I have seen another landscape S5 launcher project somewhere here on XDA. I'll post link when I find it.
Here's the one I found that looks like a lot of work has been done thus far... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708234
Find me on Google Hangouts so we can compare notes and I can get caught up with your progress and current area your working on. [email protected].
