Don't know about 4.0.3 but 4.0.4 wasn't stable for me at all on a .3 rom I like stock .2

I honestly don't think it makes a difference.
I have never experienced any pros/cons to any radio ever flashed on any of my devices.

Everyone will give you a different answer, for example I prefer xxkl1. It's personal preference really to which baseband will be the best. Try a few out and see for yourself.

Why no 4.0.2 CDMA kernels?

I can't find any.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I think IMoseyon has a lean kernel. Most likely posted on root, tho I haven't used it.

Hardly any for gsm also. Part of the reason I'm sure is developers have access to 4.0.3 so why waste time on point 2 when the latest is around the corner.

How's 4.0.3 cookin' for LTE gnex?

Does anyone know anything about the official 4.0.3 update for the VZW Gnex?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
There is none.. 4.0.3 official was only for the nexus s and that roll out has been halted.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Oh, okay then. I thought I just didn't know anything about it. Lol. My friend has a nexus s and has 4.0.3 so I figured something weird was going on, so I had to find out for myself.

New baseband 4.2 any difference?

Anyone notice a difference with new baseband? Not sure if I need to flash it or not. I'm running 4.2 just didn't change bb.

I will do so real life testing tomorrow and I will report back.

I've noticed a huge difference in signal strength. With the old baseband I used to get 2 bars around home and the office.
I switched to DVLF1 from the i9250T for 850Mhz networks and got a slight boost.
But with the 4.2 one I've got full reception at home and office. Also noticed an increase in voice quality.

Thanks guys. I haven't changed baseband since I got my nexus. With my g2x there were always problems when changing.

Baseband is only for maguro correct?
I believe so.

With the new baseband I am getting an additional two bars where I never had any. Seems to be a lot more power efficient as well.

My Gnex used to not be able to pick up any signal in the basement, now it at least keeps one bar in the worst scenario.

Great, now you can stay in there for good.

I flashed last night. So far it seems to be doing great. Don't know that my signal is any stronger but it didn't seem to hurt anything.

Best response ever
When a Galaxy Nexus updates OTA from 4.1.2 to 4.2, this baseband update is also included, right?
Nuno
Is the new baseband part of the 4.2 OTA we are starting to receive or is it something that has to be flashed separately ?
If not within OTA, is it not official? How are average users ment to benefit from the improvements ?
thanks
Of course it is part of the OTA. Chill out.
Signal strength on par with all recent basebands.
One huge difference: I keep getting 10 to 13 mbit/s download with XXLH1, whereas I barely got past 5mbit/s on all previous basebands.

Rom for Verizon on a GSM Nexus???

Hey people,
I'd like to put mmuzzy's rom on my gnex as it runs like lightning on my Nexus 7. But it seems to be only available in the Verizon+Sprint sections.
Im from Ireland which is all gsm so i have never ventured into the Verizon or sprint sections on xda.
Im just wondering if it can be done or if ill run into any issues?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
It would have to be ported to a gsm nexus. U can't flash a Verizon or sprint ROM to your phone.

I thought as much but i just couldn't find a straight answer anywhere.
Thanks mate

Best VZW 4.2.2 kernel?

Which is the best in your opinion? I'm still looking for one that is as smooth as 4.1.2-4.2.1
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
There is no best. You need to figure out which one is the best for you, and your particular ROM.
The problem in 4.2.2 is not the kernel and the kernels work on Galaxy Nexus phones. Also best kernel / rom threads are discouraged.

Try them all see which one you like
