Hello everyone.
I recently flashed CM 7.1 on my HTC Wildfire and my GPS isn't working any longer. Some people on the CyanogenMod 7 for the HTC Wildfire thread advised to flash a new Radio.
So I have some question:
Which Radio do I chose? How?
Where can I fin these Radio?
How do I backup/restore my actual radio if the flash fails or the new radio make my phone unusable on my provider's network?
Thank you.
OK 1. The cyanogenmod wiki for the buzz is where you will find the radios.
2. Choose the one higher than your hboot says yours is.
3. You don't. If it fails it fails, no backups.

Thank you for your answers.
I'm a little bit scared about flashing my radio. Also, multiuploads links doesn't work, but I'll find other mirrors.
Edit: found an other mirror, but I don't know how to check if it works in my country (I live in France)
Sorry again for my newbieness =)

Find your radio online and have a copy of it just in case. Then, get the new radio. Flash it. If it doesn't work, flash the old one.

if you took a back up of your stock rom:
take a back up of CM7, reflash stock backup, turn GPS on, leave GPS on, reflash CM7 backup.
You may not need to flash a radio

How to extract stock Rom? The case is that I haven't done backup of my stock Rom branded by era provider.
Now some guy told me that he just bought desire z from era and his Rom is identical to RUU_Vision_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.2_R_Radio_12.28e.60.14 0f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF_release (available on this forum)
except radio code which is ending with fU instead f.
So if I would like to get Rom which is flashed on his device, to have exactly what was on mine on the beginning what and how it should be done?

Ok, if I understand you right, you currently have a phone with stock ROM, and you want to take a backup of that phone, correct?
If that's the case, I think you'll still need to root the phone in order to install Clockwork recovery. Once you have Clockwork, then you can take a nandroid backup of your phone. So I don't think you can grab a backup of stock ROM before it was rooted.

Yeah so this a problem. During rooting it is necessary to downgrade your soft to 1.34 what automatically force you to loose your stock Rom. :/

No no I wanted only to have a possibility to back to the stock Rom if my phone will have to be sent to service on warranty.
I know one guy from Poland who also bought a phone from the same telcom operator - era.
He gave me info that the stock Rom on his phone is:
12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
While on the forum can be find the same but with one difference in radio code - only f instead fU
12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2 and can be found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879384
But what does it mean this difference mentioned above and if it is negligible or not?

Well, unless you've flashed a custom radio, another option could be to extract everything from that RUU you found in the forum and flashing everything except the radio.
Although if you want to send your phone for warranty you'll probably have to do a bit more work to get s-on again...

I'm quite sure that flashing those ROMs do not change your radio. So if you need to send for warranty, I think you'll just need to flash the ROM part of the RUU (should be able to find a post somewhere which tells you how to extract just certain parts of the RUU) and then reflash partition 7 to get S-OFF. If you used gfree, it would have made a backup of that partition before it gave you S-OFF. Hopefully you still have it.
Actually, have you taken a look at this?

if you have the zip image flashable with clockwork mod u can... browse in the Desire hd radio thread...
but i do not recommend to you flash any radio from recovery... its not A safety mode....
use fastboot commander tool or flash it via adb of the sdk
take the radio thread link... and read the 2# post

I'd recommend the method from this thread instead as it's for the DHD and not Inspire: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054304 You don't have to use command prompt (adb push blablabla...) to get it on your sdcard, just copy it to your sdcard anyway you like (or download it to your phone and move it to the root of your sdcard) but remember to check md5sum!
I think its not blablabla,

You must have misundestood me, the OP was asking for a method to flash radio without a computer and the thread marsdta suggested is from the Inspire 4G forum. I atleast want to be 100% sure that the method used to flash the radio works on the DHD, as flashing the radio is one of the few ways to brick your phone if it goes wrong.
The thread that I suggested uses adb to move the zip-file from the computer to the phone, which isn't necessary. You can just download it straight to your phone or drag and drop it from your computer and move it to the root of your sdcard. I wrote the "adb push blablabla" just to show what I'm talking about and because I thought it was unnecessary to copy the entire command lines, no depreciation was meant.
Maybe we are talking of different things... Sorry if i offensed you... when i arrive to my house I'm going to edit the post for not create confussion...

I posted the link for the inspire thread because I was in it prior to posting here. In the thread the links were to the dhd radios. I found it easier for a quick response to post it. So apologies if I added to the confusion. But flashing for the dhd and inspire are the same as they basically the same phone.

Yes I know some people have thought of the possibility, but I haven't seen anyone confirm it? Except the story where leith flashed the wrong radio, but if he had let it boot normally how knows what would've happened. You still can brick your device by flashing a corrupted radio or by pulling the usb-cable/battery out during the process or are you willing to try it and prove me wrong?

Okay I've been getting reports of roms not flashing right for the marvelc. So I set out for a solution and found one I believe. One issues with some roms, is that people have been doing it wrong since they got the phone. From Gsm recovery to even gsm roms. They used cmtd a very bad idea ect ect. So now, id like to present my method for fixing all of this. First, soff your hboot, then upgrade and unlock. install custom recovery and wipe all of the partitions. Then reboot to fastboot and flash the recovery posted bellow. Report back with any findings
http://goo.im/devs/simonsimons34/marvelc/cm9/tests/recovery.img
I was just wondering if you could give step by step instructions to flashing the recovery.img. File.
Download it. Rename to recovery.img. Place in the same directory as fastboot and adb.
Put your phone into fastboot (adb reboot bootloader).
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Simonsimons34 I have tried many things but this CWM actually let me flash a rom your great!! thanks so much and this worked for me
Glad to hear it this recovery has all the bugs with flashing and backups fixed so you should be good for the life of the phone

Yes but when you flash ROM's they do not come with radio's, those are always flashed separate. The only time you will get a radio is if you use a RUU or perform a OTA which includes a radio in the update.
