it seems that my texts are not getting delivered, they show that they went through on my side but nothing on the other side??

I'm not sure what rom you are on. Do you use Google voice? I had issues with google voice doing weird crap to my text messages. Yesterday I was texting all day long, but none of the the replies back came through. Went online from a pc and disabled my number. After that, I started getting my texts again.

There is a simple explanation to this. Currently, Sprint is switching their towers from WiMax to LTE. You would think this would only cause data issues but they are literally changing and moving towers in weird directions. So this is hugely effecting us. So texts may be kind of wacky for now. Sorry =/
My texts have always been wacky. I learned a while back rebooting or calling (any phone number) will "refresh" and "sync" your device with the towers or something. Whenever I stop getting texts (>20 minutes) I call my google voice number, and usually a couple of texts will come through in a few seconds.
Wimax has nothing to do with texts.. And I'm pretty sure they're not even touch Wimax towers. I've been experiencing this lately with at&T customers. Only on android phones though not iphones.

make sure your prl's are update as well as your profile. power phone off for 5mins, then turn back on. if they continue to not go through, call sprint and have them do a profile refresh or reset. data transmitting is a switch problem usually. and these are simple troubleshooting steps to do that may or may not resolve the issue. sprint changing from wimax to lte has absolutely nothing to do with this issue. is that was the case, you would also have voice problems as well.

Anyone else unable to send text messages? I just got this phone and I absolutely love it but I can't send texts. I can receive them though. I have been on the phone with sprint for an hour and they are now telling me to take it back and get a new one.

Try updating your profile? Try handcent?
update profile and prl from menu > settings > about phone > system updates
Did all of this multiple times.
did you port your number to google voice?
Are you using an Airave? I was unable to send any texts out at home but was able to anywhere else. Found out that the Airave was the cause so I shut it off for the time being and everything is working fine.
Call sprint and let them know. They will walk you through a refresh.

I have a bunch of dead spots in my apartment complex. Airave was able to get everything covered nicely.
same thing here. took about 30 minutes before it would start texting properly after activation
Had the same issue, I restarted my airave and it started working fine. Just unplug and plug back in.

I do have an Airave and that is the problem. When I got to work this morning everything is perfect. Stupid Airave!
This unfortunately happened to me. Apparently I had about 50 text messages that never sent (which explains why I didn't get some replies) since getting the phone on Friday. Well, my phone decided to send them all at 2 this morning. I had a few very upset people that I was texting them the most random things at such a terrible hour. I had previously updated my profile and all that good stuff, so hopefully this won't be an ongoing issue moving forward, otherwise I may be forced to reactive my Evo 3D.
I had the exact opposite issue yesterday. Was able to send but not receive any texts. I seemed to fix by itself towards the end of the day. Might be the local towers fixing something.
Airrave ...you mean MiFi right...same effect
Is anyone else having this issue...I send texts, it fails, yet sends it anyway?
I am rooted using midnight rom and lostkernal now, but my g/f has same phone at stock and having same issue...
Yea it happens off and on over the past few months for me. My friends who are on At&t mentioned having this problem too.
i asked about this a while back. happens to me too. and you have to reboot phone

I've had this problem on multiple phones from Sprint.
The phone claims the text wasn't sent, but moments after it tells me it failed, I get a reply from the recipient.
I think often it has to do with Sprint's network, not the phone.
Happened to me twice in a couple thousand texts so far...

lucky!!
Happened to me a lot more than that. I look like an idiot when my friends send me screen shots of 5 texts I've sent when my phone still says it hasn't sent.

Same here, my evo3d, photon and ET4g all did it, it a carrier issue. I use roam control sometimes to lock it into roaming, texts send fine. Reboots don't always work for me.
Thia happens to me I fet bad phone code0

OK, thanks for the responses. It has gotten repeatedly worse past few days and is frustrating to have these issues with such a high-end phone. Rebooting and/or updating prl has not helped much. Was ready to break phone yesterday over it, lol.
Mine send but sometimes I get texts a day later and i have no idea what people are saying.

If you use roam control and force your phone into roam the problems go away. I've never had the issues while on Verizons network.
I have experiences this issue in 2 diff forms.
1. The form the OP mentioned. You send a text, it says "not send due to network error" but the text still gets sent. So when you resent the text (you are resending because it says "not sent", so u dont know it didnt get sent) it goes a total of THREE (not 2) times for some reason.
2. This is the ghost LoS reason. You have full signal and everything SEEMS normal, but when u try to make a phone call, it will seem as though the phone call is abt 2 go thru, but its just stuck on the dialing screen, and even if you press the end call button, it still stuck on that screen. Also during ghost LoS, if you try to send a text message, it will not go thru. AND, if someone calls you, it will go straight to voicemail and you will not receive any texts.
I am always texting my self "test", like every 30 mins, to make sure i dont have LoS. And i hate it, hope this gets fixed soon!!
The only way to get out of ghost LoS is to reboot the phone.

On the stock touch wiz messaging app I get these type of alerts/indicators/notifiers?? but am unaware of what they mean. The messages go through fine, but I get this small "X" right above the date on only some messages.
Does anyone else experience this? Has this already been discussed somewhere else?
I've attached a picture with arrows pointing at what I'm talking about.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
From what I know that means you have messages in those threads that failed to send.
Or rather, your phone THINKS the message did not send. I'm having this issue a lot lately with Sprint and this phone. In my area in fact a lot of people on the sprint network, including those using boost mobile, are having issues. The phone says the messages failed to send, but they actually do.
I have alot of text messages that fail as well. My wife's phone doesn't have this problem.

happens in low coverage areas. happens to me all the time at home. phone will say sending failed, but still sends, and people still reply. i used to keep hitting the exclamation point and it would keep trying to resend, even though it really went thru lol

That's their Google Talk status (you probably have their gmail addy in their contact info). The grey dot with an X means they are offline. If they're online, it would be a green dot; if they were connected and away, it would be a yellow dot with clock hands in it.
Thanks everyone. What's funny is that I dont have gmail addresses assigned to those contacts. Will look into it though, thanks again.
I talked to sprint and they are aware of this issue they are working to find a permanent fix, now this is what I was told. They also say turning the phone off and back on forces update into the phone because it reset with the network when you turn it off.
Just a bug probably.

That might actually be true. The next day after making the original post they were suddenly gone. I have not seen them since. It must be a bug they have to work out.
Thank you.
I had about 6 of those notifiers come up today and I immediately turned off my phone and re-started and they were all magically gone. Been texting since and haven't seen anymore.
Re-starting does indeed work as a temporary fix I suppose. Sprint should hurry up with an update already though.
I got my G3 today and everything seemed to work fine until I realized none of my texts were going through. Whether I use Verizon's junk Messages+, the stock sms app, or hangouts, none of my texts go through. However, phone calls work, and I even received a service text from Verizon. Any ideas? Same deal on both Dalvik and ART.

Double check your APN settings and/or give big red a ring. Possibly more of a network issue than a device issue.

Ended up working just fine about an hour later after activation. So I think you're right... Just had to wait it figure itself out.
Had the Same Problem
After installing my SIM and calling Verizon to initialize the phone number it took a good while for the SMS to start working. I was getting concerned and it eventually started working on its own. So, if you have a new Verizon phone you may need to wait a while after initializing for the SMS to start working. I think it was about half an hour for me, but I was messing with a lot of stuff with the phone so I may have a bad perception of how long it took.
I use the default Samsung text app because I want to use Chat texting (the only other option I know of is Google and it doesn't work with the Chat messages imported from my previous phone, so doesn't show them). I have had a large number of regular SMS/MMS texts to non-Chat people give me an error of not being able to be sent, usually a couple of minutes later with an error notification but occasionally with a pop-up immediately upon sending that says it will be sent when the service is available. I've also noticed lately that people's Chat texting dots turn off very often even if I'm sitting in the same place I saw them on shortly before, and most of the time flipping Airplane Mode on and off again fixes it (and I'll see a Google notification about backing up X number of contacts, with X being the number of dots that turned off [usually two since if the one I tapped on turned off, I'll check another to see if it is me or that person]).
Anyone else have this problem? I also have a problem, as I said in the reception thread, with the cell reception bars going from full to no service in a second, for a second or two, and go back to full bars. This is on T-mobile US. I feel like it worsened after the update a day or two ago, but I might be wrong about that. It is really ridiculous, though!
I'm Tmobile too. Same issues. It's definitely a tmobile issue.
Using Google Messages on T-Mobile and none of these issues.
my wife's zflip3 on at&t using google messages has been doing this the last few days.
when she got home from work this evening I checked and her rcs settings were stuck on 'connecting'. I did the airplane mode, clear carrier services data, messages data, and then turned off airplane mode. then went to messages and verified phone number in chat settings, and its been working since ( a few hours now). I will see how it goes when she goes to work again tomorrow. strange that it just happened out of the blue though. I think there was a carrier services update in the last day or two, so that may have caused it.
I'm in the UK and have been having issues with chat messages getting stuck on sending and not receiving, have also had issues with other notifications being very delayed not sure if Google play services update had caused it. It seems alright again at the moment
Similar issues with AT&T in the the US, they have issues with their RCS Profile. Unfortunately carriers are usually trash.

Nope, unfortunately it is not that. There are common issues with RCS and AT&T
My speculation is that it is related to their 1.0 RCS Profile and their 5G coverage in the area, as it often confuses the antennas if there is 5G or not in the area
Now, I am using Android/Google Messages as it has a much better feature set than Samsung's default

Unfortunately, Google Messages isn't an option for me because I need to be able to refer to old texts imported from my previous phone, and Google Messages isn't able to read (show) old RCS texts from Samsung (my previous phone was the S7 Edge).
I'm guessing the issue might improve if they fix the signal issue, which has also dropped a couple of calls.

That is interesting, for me it was able to port other messages when I switched from previous devices (S21 plus, iPhone 11 Pro Max), it just has them as SMS rather than as chat.

Lucky. At first I thought it had deleted some of my conversations, but then I saw them lower in the list because it thought their last texts were a lot earlier in time since it wasn't showing a lot of the texts. This included some important people to me, so I had to switch back to the Samsung text app, where thankfully they all appeared again.
