Launcher7 and widgets - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hello everybody,
I use Launcher7 on my SGS2. I know about most other launchers, and yes I know they support widgets way better, but I really like Launcher7's style. The only thing I am having a hard time with, is finding widgets that are compatible with this launcher / that fit in the tiles while still being readable.
Does anyone know some widgets that work well with this launcher? For now, I have found that (with a little bit of patience) the following widgets work great (next to the widgets provided within the launcher):
* Animated widget pro
* Advanced clock pro
* Google (play) music
I would love to hear from other Launcher7-users about other widgets that work for you! Please, do not post messages about other launchers, I am fully aware about their existence!

you need to experiment I have not a significant issue w/ widgets on L7.
Click on special tiles, select widget, the you get options menu:
1
2
full screen
Experiment! 1 w/ full screen
2 w/ full scree
2 alone
1 alone etc
this process gives you diff size tiles.
Some large clock widgets may be a little off I agree
good luck

[Q] Looking for an app icon widget

I'm looking for an app icon widget for Sense that has the following properties....I have tried what feels like dozens but there are so many I simply can't try them all.
Ability to hide specific apps that I don't want displayed (so, a blacklist not a whitelist)
No text labels
Ability to be clear or at least mostly clear (see the wallpaper behind it)
Scrollable!
Preferred 5 column grid but not absolutely necessary
The closest I've found is the Folder organizer widget, but it doesn't seem to refresh the apps list ever so anytime I add a new app I have to recreate the widget again. Also, the scrollable function only works in third party launchers (not Sense). I have tried Launcher Pro and ADW but not a huge fan.

You have to remember that sense is closed source, so it can only do so much. Most widgets that I've found have extra functions for 3rd party launchers such as the ones you've listed.
If you want to hid or get rid of apps, the only way to do that is to hack-uninstall the apps (from what I've been reading around here). Not sure about being "clear", could you be more clear with that? I'm guessing you want transparent widgets?
You can use Desktop Visualizer to help you with your hidden text labels. I use that in combination with folder organizer and launcher pro. Launcher Pro is pretty well designed IMO. It does what sense does, plus more and there's a lot of widgets that seem to support it. You should take a look at the Launcher Pro screenshots created here, there's a lot of excellent customization that I believe will meet your demand. It's possible that you haven't found the look you want that will be efficient for you.

Thanks for your thoughts. Does LauncherPro have scrollable email and agenda widgets like Sense? (I know it has messenger although I don't love the implementation...)

[Q] AOSP and sense widgets?

whats up ppl i was just wondering if is it possible to have a AOSP rom wit the sense widgets (flip clock, sync all, settings, etc) cuz lets be real the AOSP widgets are wake and if it is can u tell me how to cuz im a new in this and thnx in adv.
have a wonderful day
Please use the search...
Pay version of launcher pro has widgets similar to sense with the exception of the clock.
For the clock, you need the pay versions of either Beautiful Widgets of Fancy Widgets. I know for sure Fancy Widgets has skins to make the clock look identical to the sense clock. It also has screen on animations and weather animations when you open the weather.
A number of third party messenger and calendar apps also have their own widgets.

yea i was watching a video on youtube of fancy widgets but the animation when u unlock the phone does not work right and a another Q how do u put the signature (like the one u have after the line ) in here cuz i been looking around in my profile and i dont see any part for signature
Screen unlock animation worked fine for me. I think beautiful widgets has one too. Neither are as good as sense though. Worth the sacrifice for me though since I don't really like Sense.
Look under quick links at the top of the screen. One of them is edit sig.

remove the 3 buttons in the home screen

I just installed froyo as per the guy said in this thread, the downgradable method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072094
But i was hoping like this update will remove the 3 home screen buttons at the bottom of the screen. Is there any way to do that?
and what about the folders for different apps? This is also not there for defy? I have sen it on galaxys!
and another thing is the wifi/bluetooth/gps widget. i thought the froyo update will bring it to the notification area. I mean after expanding the notification bar.
One another thing I wanted to ask was, is there any good looking widget for bluetooth/gps/wifi for defy?
for the widgets - try widgetsoid in the market - be sure to get widgetsoid 2.x
it offers a fair amount of customisation (colours, background fade efect, etc)
The 2.2 doesn't bring these widgets to notification bar - it depends on the custom rom
The 3 home buttons - try to change your home screen app - use adw launcher or launcher pro, or any othe type of launcher - search the web to find the best for your taste.

Widgets on lockscreen issue.

I've upgraded to 4.2.2 a week ago and i find the upgrade worth it although there are some bugs and a little lag involved.
Anyway, i get to use the new feature in android ----> lockscreen widgets. But this new feature is very limited and pretty much useless in my case. I already use the camera from the physical button (no need for 'swype to right' widget). On the left side i would like to use a flashlight widget (teslaLED) or the sony notes widget which i use often but none of them are available for use in lockscreen widgets list.
Both apps have widgets but they do not appear in the lockscreen widgets list. Really frustrating issue.
Is there a solution to make these widgets work on lockscreen?
Do you know a flashlight app who's widget will work on lockscreen as well?
I'd use Dashclock + applauncher + dashtorch. Dashclock is a full screen widget that adds alot to the lockscreen. applauncher can be set to allow any program to be launched from the widget. Dashtorch is a flashlight with it's own widget and a plugin for dashclock.

Digital clock question

Is there any way to remove the date from the digital clock? I have the stock weather widget running in the top right corner, which also shows the date, so it's redundant to also have it displayed in the clock, which is right below it.
Barring that, is there a recommended digital clock widget that has the same stock font, can be sized to the 4 x 2 of the stock clock, and had the option to display no date?
There are a ton of available clock and weather apps in the Play Store that have wigets, usually with more customization options than the stock Android versions. If you do a little trial and error testing it shouldn't take you long to find what you are looking for. You can also look for general widget apps like Beautiful Widgets which usually include clock and weather widgets because they tend to be the most popular.

This might get you started but if you don't find something to your liking there are a ton more in the Play Store. It shouldn't be hard at all to find either a digital clock widget or a weather widget that doesn't also display the date. There are also a lot of clock widgets that actually display the weather as well, so if you liked something like that you could use one widget instead of two and save yourself a little battery. I used to use one like that called Fancy Widgets but it didn't have as many customization options as some other widget apps.

Thanks for the advice. I did try several digital clock widgets, but every single one included a non-removable date. The HD Widgets in your link looks like it has what I need in it though, so I'll try that one out.
Thanks again!
