Getting my bro's DINC2 all setup for him; I have a LG Revolution so I'm a little overwhelmed by everything I have to do to get this thing working - so many options.
I successfully downgraded to 2.3.3 and ran Revolutionary to obtain S-OFF and flash CWM (data was wiped in the process). I downloaded and flashed Condemned's CM7.2 V1.4 ROM. I wiped cache and dalvik, then rebooted. The device has now been in the CM7 boot animation for about 15 minutes now. I know it is supposed to take awhile, especially after wiping dalvik cache, but I have never had flashing take this long. Did I do something wrong?

You did wipe data/factory reset before flashing right?

Data had already been wiped when I rooted, so I didn't think it was necessary to repeat it. So, no.
Yeah, follow my guide to flashing ROMs in the directory in my sig.

Ok heres the deal.. Im a noob and have only flashed one rom since root so im real fresh to this.
My set up is as follows: rooted with unrevoked running cyanogen 6.1.2 i flashed amen ra 2.3. I dowloaded the Rom and Radio/Wimax updates and flashed according to the instructions on Myn's OP.
It boots fine but after about 60 seconds of being booted i get roughly 4-6 force close notifications. One for the market, messages, media, android process and the others i cant remember. Any ideas of what went wrong?
I really like the look and feel of this rom so I REALLY REALLY need all the help i can get on this.
Please help..

You did a full wipe prior to flashing right? Maybe try re-wiping everything, then flashing the rom again.
Do you mean a all user data/factory reset? If so then no. I wiped data, cache & dalvik tho. I also tried three different sources for the rom download and flashed all three and got the same results each time.
When you flash a new rom, you should always wipe EVERYTHING: cache, data, factory reset, and dalvik. Try doing it again with wiping all of this first.

Your EVO needs a WIPE!! I prefer to use C's Format All Zip TWICE as well as separately wipe Cache and Dalvik TWICE. After first boot, I like to reboot to recovery and wipe the Dalvik two more times. Reboot, fix permissions, reboot and you should be good to go.
Thanks guys.. I will try that right now and let you know how it turns out..
Can any one tell me where to find the cs format?
And do I need to format my sd card?

Hey man. Attatched is a copy of Calkulin's Format all. You flash it in recovery, and it wipes everything. It ensures a solid wipe. Use your recovery to wipe data/factory reset, cache, and davlik cache two times each. Then flash this zip in recovery. Then reflash the ROM. That should do the trick for you, Myn's runs good and clean!
Edit: And no, you do not need to format your SD card.
I wanna say thanks to all you guys for your help. I have it installed and running great.
If any of you have any recommendations for mods I'm open to suggestions..
Hello, first i would like to say i have spent over 10 hours trying to flash a custom ROM on my incredible all of which include searching through endless forums for people with similar issues. current specs are:
hboot: .92
radio: 2.15.00.07.28
clockworkmod: 2.5.1.2
I used unrEVOked 3 to root.
I have tried to flash redemption 2.3, cyanogenmod 6, skyraider 3.5, and the stock incredible 2.2 image which i saw in another thread here. What happens is the roms install fine and boot up. At some point, usually within the first couple minutes they are booted up, the phone restarts and will not boot back into rom. Any help would be appreciated.
Are you doing a complete wipe before installing the rom?
If so try installing the rom from recovery (don't install from Rom Manager), and flash a different kernel. Then reboot and see if the problem still persists.
Are you restoring apps and data? Restoring system data is always a quick way to get weird issues...also, as mentioned above, wipe cache, dalvik, and do factory wipe. As a practice, I've done all three 3 times each, and never run into any such issues. Think of the bathroom...wiping too much might take longer, but not wiping enough will definitely cause issues later

Not sure that 3 times is necessary, but I like the analogy.

LOL love that last bit.
Sent from my Droid Incredible running Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5.3.
Thanks guys, i already did wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache, and do a factory wipe each time before installing the various ROMS. none of this fixed the issue. i found a back to stock image, and i took it into verizon and they are sending me a refurb. than its back to root again!
I was flashing radio, wimax, NV, PRI. I was trying to fix android os from showing up on the battery. I downloaded from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485 put to root of sd. Flashed one by one, each one cleared my cache upon returning to recovery. I did not reboot phone completely after each flash, I flashed the next one, all in a row. Can I be saved?
Please help
Is your phone not turning on...or what's 'not' happening?
I reboot and it stuck at splash for 15 minutes. I pull battery, I reboot to bootloader then recovery. I wipe and flashing cyanogen again. I hope it works.
Boot into the bootloader, and verify that the correct radio you flashed is displayed there; if so, go into recovery from the bootloader, do a full wipe [factory/data, cache, dalvik cache], then flash your version of CM7, wipe cache and dalvik again, flash the latest gapps, then reboot.
Its fixed! Thank you for taking the time to help. I been flashing for a while and forgot my user/pass, dont have the same email either, lol. Thanks again
Lawlz, it happens, and you're welcome.
I'm asking if I bricked my EVO as well...I'm new to the whole rooting, ROM, Kernel thing, so I was very nervous to jump into the deep end.
I rooted successfully, took a nandroid backup, then flashed Deck's new ROM, and a kernel. When I selected "reboot" it wouldn't boot.
Can you guys think of anything I did wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated.

False alarm! I rebooted the phone into recovery and restored the backup that I just took. I flashed the ROMS and Kernel, then rebooted and now all seems to be working.
Man, that almost gave me a heart attack!

Glad its working; just make sure to backup, then do a full wipe before flashing a new rom. If flashing multiple things, wipe the cache and dalvik between flashes.

Thanks for the tip!
This is really bothering me. I've attempted to flash into MIUI but I am stuck on the boot screen and it's just staying there. I tried two different sources of MIUI, the latest being from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915527 - the thread for MIUI Evo 4G.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I don't know how to make this work. This has been my first try at installing a custom ROM. I already have a backup readily available.
I have tried removing my battery and restarting the phone. How do I fix my problem?
Edit: I have tried clearing dalvik cache and data cache. No go.
Gad the same prob... but didnt bother to ask... i just loaded cm7.. but i would like to try miui lol

That isn't helpful and doesn't contribute to the thread in any way.

I'll first ask the usual question: did you wipe everything (factory reset/wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, system, boot, and sd android secure) before flashing the new ROM?
And have you tried to download from this site?
http://miui.us/
Use amon RA recovery, flash a format all zip (you can find it with a quick search) and then flash miui
Deck's + SZ + SuperCharger script + ViperMod script.
Incredible 2 won't go past the htc boot screen that is all white. Does it take a while to install or is there a problem. I cleared cache and dalvik cache. then a second time i even factory reset it. I don't know what to do. Please help.

May need a little more info. I'm assuming you have cwm since you cleared caches. If so, just clear caches ad data again, and flash your custom rom of choice from sd card. Yes, it takes a little while.
Try to pull the battery.
If not just flash a new stock ROM.
Just go into recovery and flash a custom rom it will be rooted for you. The rmk patch did the same to me so i loaded a rom om the sd booted into recovery from hboot and flashed a rom

The problem was that i used rmk40 zip file and it had the froyo firmware instead of the gingerbread firmware. I flashed the gingerbread firmware and it fixed it. Thanks though guys.
