Samsung back door? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Anyone ever hear of a Samsungs "default code" to gain access to ones handset?
I was reading this article about the FBI contacting Google and Samsung for a default code to get into a headset that they cant get past the pattern unlock screen.

You need to get the phone in debugging mode somehow first. I replied with a theoretical method for our phones.

Did you actually read the article? They are asking google for his gmail password, not some supermagical backdoor code.

Metalhead, to me sounds like the FBI is asking Google for a default code that Samsung has. Direct quote from article.

The warrant is trying to cover all the bases and just attempt to compel Google to unlock the phone by whatever means.
Apparently too many failed attempts with the pattern lock triggered a lockdown that requires his Google login and password to get in.
I am more disturbed by the fact that a simple ADB command can turn off the screenlock. Makes stealing a phone a whole lot simpler.

No Surprise
This doesn't surpise me that they are trying to do that. Google and Facebook recently updated there privacy settings to where they can monitor what your doing and have authority to report any supicious activity to the government.

It is an "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" situation. The corporations that control the media ignore things like this (focusing on tabloid journalism instead) and the government ignores shady business practices that they are supposed to regulate.

I use Facebook flow to do batch pic uploads. Its in the market. Once you log into the app and you go o to gallery and select multiple pics you then select facebook floe to upload them. As far as the pics rotating on you yeah it is annoying. I just take all my pics In landscape mode so they don't come out sideways.

Thanks for the app. I don't need it for my Evo as it does multiple uploads but my wife's epic can use that. Is it just me, or does this just seem more like a "HTC is better" spammer? Either way, Most major problems are solved by apps, such as the Facebook app mentioned above. Plus, no one seems bothered by the portrait/landscape extra step. So that is why no developer is wasting their time with it. The developers on here work hard to fix the short comings of stock phones (Such as seriously lacking battery life) Which, with my a new ROM and Kernel, I had over 20 hours of battery life today while TRYING to kill my battery. So I would say the developers are doing a splendid job, and you just come off ungrateful.

Ungrateful for wanting a mms issue resolved within the software? Blah, you are officially talking out your ass. HTC spammers? Conspiracy theory's? Lmao. Just be nice to come up with a fix for said problem. Why HTC can and others can't beyond me but spamming as you say a brand like HTC. Well, that's the truth and I am correct in my statement and have verified on other phones. Did you not read my post where I praised xda? Notice my post said devs? I meant that in hopes of not receiving comments as such as I believe this is a feasible question. You sir discredit the notion that people might attain information via other forums.
Question still stands? Thanks in advance!
Simple answer: HTC added a feature. There's no bug in the others. HTC is tagging the photos to mark which ones are portrait, then displaying them rotated. The pictures, though, are actually still in landscape, just turned to the side as your phone is.

Why not try some other mms apps in the market? While the devs here often help when they can, it its usually because many people want something changed, you are the only one who seems to need this purely cosmetic feature. On top of that, this site is for learning and developing. If no one wants to use their time to make you an app, their are plenty of resources for you to do it yourself. Or show a high need for the feature to entice the developers. At the moment you are the only one who cares.

Google----part of the new world order. Everything they come up with that has to do with privacy is justified by them for your own good, but this is all part of theplan. You have heard Bush Sr. promise this, Bush Jr., Clinton, Obama. We are moving there because it is designed to be that way so might as well fight it or get on the bus, your choice at least for now. Oh by the way, facebook is part of it too. The whole idea is to build a profile on everyone so when it is time for microchip, they have your information for the chip. Anything else they say is hoccus poccus. This is strategically planned. Who can tell you, I will know everything about you and you can't stop me, does that seem like freedom of choice? Think really deep about this one.

People are always jumping to conclusions and always forgetting the thing that matters most. DEVS!!!! If this is true then you know that one dev on one phone will come up with a block and all will be well!!! And that block will be adapted to all other phones. So sit just back and relax, because your in good hands with DEV's!!
Like they say, nothing is free.
The question is would you opt in to pay $100 annually to use their "free" services?
Anything on the web that is "free" generates income one way or another.
Carrier IQ, Facebook, Google, Windows, Browsers, ISP, GPS, Apps, Phones, Wifi etc... All Access you and your targeted mostly ADs specific to you.
And to be honest, I rather see a relevant AD than some viagra bs. What did bother me at one point few months ago is when I was signed off facebook and browsing the web, there was a tech article and when I went to comment it already had my facebook information ready to comment as.
IMO, the world has changed and humanity no longer lives apart in different regions or countries, we the human race live on Planet Earth. The sooner we realize that and appreciate our ecosystem, the better off we'll be.
Btw, this whole thing is feeling like the movie "demolition man".
2012 The Year of Prophecies
Um.... This was the plan from the start. Why did you think Google went through the trouble of providing an OS with all this integration in the first place. Does anyone know how they generate their revenue? I don't care since I don't have anything to hide, and this is what I need to pay to have all these things available for me to use. I can see how some might be upset that the man is in their business, but thats the price you pay to pimp the little green robot.

Trolling doesn't always mean direct sarcasm, I read this as Koush trying to start controversy. I'm pretty sure he meant what he said because it's basically true. Microsoft and Google (and every single phone vendor) routinely release devices with tons of bugs, because devs are already working on the new version and they know they can just patch things later on. I don't pretend to know if it's a matter of skill, lack of testing, or lack of Steve Jobs ashes.
Example: Everyone made a big deal when we found out that holding the iPhone 4 a certain way killed the signal, but I honestly cannot believe there wasn't a similar outrage over the LOS bug the ET4G had at launch. The iPhone signal bug, while unfortunate, was easily fixed by either getting a case or just holding it differently! Compare this to our phone's LOS bug. Fortunately for me I was able to flash a leaked modem to fix my phone, but you can't expect normal people to do that. Most people had to wait way too long for an OTA that fixed something that should have been fixed before launch.

A nexus oath?

I was recently chatting with one of our mods and this is what he had to say:
Owning a nexus is a responsibility. Once you own a Nexus, you own the right to speak for the Android ecosystem as a whole. It all becomes as you put it because you are the high priest of a sacred religion, the source.
It is from this that your prime responsibility emerges as well- you have to help every android user if you know you can, even if you don't want to. Whether they think that their phone is better and cooler or not, whether you look like a friendless and deprived idiot or a desperate nerd.
I know this sounds silly philosophical to you, alluding to a very "brotherhood" vicinity as far as concepts go, but what matters is the result we get from such a mindset- something more open, something more google, forward and responsive, something that iOS kidos cant even think in the lines of.
It is the reason I am ensuring that nexus discussions are sincere, friendly and constructive and everyone trying to derail this process is going to find a tough time.
Its also the reason I am talking to BigG to make nexus devices always niche, so that every nexus owner feels a sense of purpose to the eco system, silently knowing he has what matters most in the android ecosystem

1. FULL play store access (not restricted by country or device)
2. Closer relationship with google devs
3. Working with manufacturers to get flashable ported versions of their UX leaving a nexus user with more options than others
4. World phone as a standard
5. Permanent discounts on most play content
Do you agree? What are your thoughts?

They were dipping paint chips in paint thinner like some kind of spaz nachos.
EDIT: Nvm read that wrong. The original quote is retarded though...
Jackass comments much? At least the OP is enthusiastic about something and has an original thread.

How about this for a cool mms feature.

Have you felt kinda upset when you text someone and they don't reply back.? Wouldn't you like to know if you was blatantly being ignored or not. Well Facebook has this cool feature that tells you if your message was read and at what time. Who would like to see this feature in our mms app? I know I would. Which one of our talented developers on here could make that happen.?
Apple just give up the IPHONE sucks deal with it.
delivery report?

Won't happen
That feature would require information being sent back from that phone.... in other words, it won't happen.
Actually, long ago back in ancient times like 2004 or something, I had an old Verizon flip phone that could do this. But it only worked for other Verizon phones. If I texted someone who was also on the Verizon network, there would be a little yellow page that would appear, letting me know if they read my message or not.
This is available today but I think that it requires your carrier to cooperate. If you were to create such an app, you'd have to get all of the carriers to agree with you and let you use their network to determine if this person read the message or not. Carriers can know when you read a text message.
My dad is on the Go Phone plan for AT&T and uses a flip phone and they charge him every time he simply reads a text. If he receives a text but doesn't open it, he isn't charged for that text. That was the same with my Verizon phone. If I opened a text, I paid for it. So carriers do have the technology to know when you read texts...you just need them to cooperate with you if you'd like to create such an app.

So you mean like an email read receipt or Facebook's "seen" feature? More than likely won't happen.
