Google to start tracking your every move...what do you think about this?

Wow... What is this world coming to..

I think that's a crock a crap. Users should always have the option to opt-in or out when privacy is concerned.

Suck ballz!!!

Looks to me like Google is trying very hard to earn more money by knowing us better and focusing ads.
Can't blame them for trying. Their earnings weren't good enough, while Apple's beat expectations. Looks like the competition is pushing Google to try anything that could help them make an extra dollar.
What i don't like is not having an option to opt out of it.

Who cares. Not like I have anything to hide. Their not selling the info soooo what's the big deal?

Total BS! One, everybody should be given the option to opt out just out of respect. Second, thus is just the type of ammunition the government needs to bring PIPA back to the table and you know SOPA will follow. So I say BS!!!!! Respect our privacy and give us an option!! Google and other companies are getting to big for their britches. What started out as a great company is now becoming an evil corporation and they don't even realize it.

Google----part of the new world order. Everything they come up with that has to do with privacy is justified by them for your own good, but this is all part of theplan. You have heard Bush Sr. promise this, Bush Jr., Clinton, Obama. We are moving there because it is designed to be that way so might as well fight it or get on the bus, your choice at least for now. Oh by the way, facebook is part of it too. The whole idea is to build a profile on everyone so when it is time for microchip, they have your information for the chip. Anything else they say is hoccus poccus. This is strategically planned. Who can tell you, I will know everything about you and you can't stop me, does that seem like freedom of choice? Think really deep about this one.

Bing.com or block google cookies on all your devices, or just accept you are using great products for free and will only get more relevant ads. If you are concerned about privacy, recognize your ISP can already tell the government everything you do online.

**I sit bad and laugh**
People are always jumping to conclusions and always forgetting the thing that matters most. DEVS!!!! If this is true then you know that one dev on one phone will come up with a block and all will be well!!! And that block will be adapted to all other phones. So sit just back and relax, because your in good hands with DEV's!!

Like they say, nothing is free.
The question is would you opt in to pay $100 annually to use their "free" services?
Anything on the web that is "free" generates income one way or another.
Carrier IQ, Facebook, Google, Windows, Browsers, ISP, GPS, Apps, Phones, Wifi etc... All Access you and your targeted mostly ADs specific to you.
And to be honest, I rather see a relevant AD than some viagra bs. What did bother me at one point few months ago is when I was signed off facebook and browsing the web, there was a tech article and when I went to comment it already had my facebook information ready to comment as.
IMO, the world has changed and humanity no longer lives apart in different regions or countries, we the human race live on Planet Earth. The sooner we realize that and appreciate our ecosystem, the better off we'll be.
Btw, this whole thing is feeling like the movie "demolition man".
2012 The Year of Prophecies

Um.... This was the plan from the start. Why did you think Google went through the trouble of providing an OS with all this integration in the first place. Does anyone know how they generate their revenue? I don't care since I don't have anything to hide, and this is what I need to pay to have all these things available for me to use. I can see how some might be upset that the man is in their business, but thats the price you pay to pimp the little green robot.

The button is there so that iPhone people know exactly where to go to post about their phone (iPhone users aren't always the most technically inclined people in the world).
There's a lot to dislike about the company's practices, but you cannot deny that they put out a pretty good product and that they have spurred a *lot* of competition and innovation in mobile computing over the last decade.
I will never own an apple device, but there's no reason to go out of your way to hate a company that isn't doing you any harm.
I agree with You S15274N I had 3 I-Phones I could not stand the fact I pay for the phone and they control my technology like I am a baby. That, along with the Totalitarian marketing behavior "oh you want to add some new anything ? ...... 1.99 each plz"............Besides, the Apple followers are like Religious Zealots "Apple is my God....take my money"..... In my area we all call it "chic" phone you want something you can do nothing to but has a couple cute features.........oooohhhh then this phone is for you.
But, even it's a sister site it really rubs me the wrong way..........I just never expressed myself.... until now ........... THANKS !!!
Yeah... I'm not saying I blame XDA or anything... just stating that I really hate the ONE site I spend my time on to express my passion for android, now has big IPHONE button at the top of it....

Not sure some of you realize what I'm TRYING to say.

iPhones are the most expensive, useless, fragile phones ever.... they suck so bad....the Galaxy S phones are so much stronger and cheaper....hell the Evo has twice the power for about half the price ...

Apple always finds a way to top its own claims. I'm sure we will see another one soon
Genius...
Certainly, Apple has the best marketing strategy in the world. Step 1) Patent something that has already been used and claim it for yourself (even though you are 2 years behind the curve). Step 2) Your millions of minion-minded customers will think they are the first to have such product, and will claim it to be the BEST EVERRRRRR! Of course, they will be correct because Apple said so!
Yawn..........

Companies as large as Samsung (and they are a GIGANTIC company. They are huge in nearly every industry they are in, which is most.) have different divisions. Whatever the smartphone division is called likely has little to do with the component manufacturing division. Even if the smartphone division demanded the component manufacturing division to cut off Apple completely they would get nothing more than a simple "No" and likely some laughing...and even if that division did want to cut Apple off they are contractually bound. Not to mention it would just be bad business to cut off sales to one of the planets most prolific electronic component customers.
A few years back one division of Sony sued another division of Sony...I think it was a (surprise surprise) Copyright issue.
Yeah, I think that most people don't realize just how gigantic and diverse of a company that Samsung really is...
"Samsung Electronics said Friday that it topped 160 trillion won (138 billion U.S. dollars) in annual sales for the first time in 2011. For the second straight year, the company topped 15 trillion won (12.9 billion dollars) in operating profit on the back of more than 150 trillion won (129 billion dollars) in sales."
All of these lawsuits are ridiculous.. But I don't think the one listed in the OP is the most laughable..
Samsung recently lost a case where they claimed the absolute right to 3G against Apple...
The only people who come out ahead on all these frivolous lawsuits are the lawyers who are getting paid..
http://phandroid.com/2012/01/20/samsung-loses-3g-technology-patent-claim-against-apple-in-germany/
Some of the claims made by Apple are bad yes but what's even worse is when some of the courts agree with them.

The warrant is trying to cover all the bases and just attempt to compel Google to unlock the phone by whatever means.
Apparently too many failed attempts with the pattern lock triggered a lockdown that requires his Google login and password to get in.
I am more disturbed by the fact that a simple ADB command can turn off the screenlock. Makes stealing a phone a whole lot simpler.

Half of the stuff Apple has patented was invented by someone else (rectangle shape). It's pure abuse to the patent system.
apple won because intelligence is overrated.
Apple won because it was then their back yard. Case should of been moved to another state at the very least.
Plus a better chance it'll be overturned on appeal. Multiple parts of the case can be brought up to try and overturned it.
I think the fact the jury came to this decision in 3 days despite the amount on evidence they had the duty to go through is suspicious enough.
Seems the jury wanted to just say this so they can leave type of deal.

Honestly, Samsung is guilty as charged. They need to stop spending money and time in trying to build ****ty proprietary apps that resemble iOS apps and sell their devices as Nexus devices. Clean Android. Nobody chooses a Samsung phone over an HTC phone because of the ROM and apps. It ALWAYS comes down to hardware.
Apple isn't completely innocent from copying others work. They just took advantage of the current patent laws. Thomas Edison pulled the same crap.
"We're coming from a pure power source"
Pretty much everything apple has ever made software wise is just a "simpler more user friendly" rippoff. That's what apples whole sales pitch is! These lawsuits are just a perfect waste of the court system IMO. Also these idiot judges that side with them are breaking the law by attempting to create a monopoly.

I like Touchwiz apps. I don't like the launcher but that's just personal opinion. I don't particularly like the Nexus either. For me it IS a combination of the software and the hardware.
The fact that they stated that the SGS series and the iPhone were similar and that the Galaxy Tab and the iPad aren't shows that the jury lacked the competence to make an informed decision. The tablets are far more similar than any of the phones. Also the fact that they disregarded concept sketches to "save time" shows that this who lawsuit was mishandled. Honestly there should be a non development Samsung, HTC, Motorola, etc. General section. And what I'm trying to really figure out I'd if we can dig up some old dirt on all the technology that apple calls "theirs" for instance the first touchscreen, who and when, operating systems, layouts, etc. And sorry mods if this is in the wrong section but I wanted it to be tied specifically to Sammy as they just lost a billion dollars. Maybe even people could comment on what they think this is going to do to Sammy users. And it sorta is about development because that's what the whole lawsuit is about. So move it if you have to or don't but chime in. Thanks to all who have given opinions

Half of the stuff Apple has patented was invented by someone else (rectangle shape). It's pure abuse to the patent system.

How is it abuse? Samsung BLATANTLY copied the iPhone, and didn't even try to hide it
www.theverge.com/2012/8/8/3227289/samsung-apple-ux-ui-interface-improvement
they certainly did copy in some instance, but other areas i don't think should matter.
Obvious copying = BAD

Similar rectangular shape with clearly different design than iphone = GOOD

But did they though? I mean apple has all these patents that I, myself know at least a few are bogus, makes me wonder what kInd of shenanigans did they pull in court? Hell if anyone knows this stuff and probably better than anyone it would be people here on xda...

So from what I can tell they got a billion over icon style and shape??? How??? Jurors sifted through all kinds of crap that probably should taken a month or so, in three days??? Apparently Sammy was blatantly was copying i**** but seriously we on xda all know that android and ios are not even close os's so why throw the tw overlay that looks like crapple and then be so open about it??? Is it a joke or meant to look that way to "steal" ideas/"friendly feel"...??? Hell idk but it's funny when the case is in isteal's backyard vs overseas... Makes me wonder how many jurors have a suephone...

touchwiz one was a blatent ripoff (a poor one though) of iOS. Look at the picture i posted above. TW2 and TW3 are completely different though.
its posible that people sue apple for interfering with the public like were are allow to choose wat we want not force

Samsung vs Apple lawsuit repercussions

I don't want to be negative because I love my android especially my s3 but anyone know how loosing that case in court to apple is going to affect us and our s3's? One of my friends said oh just wait a few weeks and demand an iPhone 5 from your carrier. I really don't want to do that as I abhore apple products. I despise the proprietary nature of the iPhones and how inflexible they are. No expanding memory.. no ability to tweak them ...just so very utilitarian and unmanageable... so if anyone knows how this loss to Samsung will affect us I'd love to hear opinions and thoughts... thanks.!

It could would to samsung, because more people are finding out how samsung makes apple's processors, etc. In fact, that essentially in the guts, hardware wise, similar products, though the apple is like 3x more, and samsung has a better quality and price.
This ban could be temporary; the nexus was banned, but if you check the play store, its back to being sold; it has for some time now.
So in the end, will really just have to watch as it plays out. This could be 'htc move' for apple; where people were unhappy with them because of them going back on their bootloader word. This could drive more people to samsung.
Really why make another one of these threads when a few already exist..... And last I read nothing is banned as of yet.that hearing is set for sometime in Dec. And on top of that the GS3 is not one of the phones Apple is going after. Most of the galaxy s2 variants and a couple galaxy s1 are the ones being questioned.

+1 You guys gonna give yourselves gray hairs tripping on that bs lawsuit.

+2, That lawsuit had absolutely nothing to do with the gs3 and will not affect us in any way. All it will do in my opinion is encourage Samsung and others to innovate more and be more creative which is good.
And why the heck would buying an iphone be a solution to anything? Your friend is dumb.

The lawsuit is far from over... that being said the S3 has had a 50% increase in sales since the verdict(S2s have been traded or sold to the resellers) so tell me who lost in court?

And here is Samsung fighting back....

Just think of this is true, either Samsung will get money back. Or you can brag about your phone having LTE (if/when you get coverage) and their brand new ICrap 5 doesn't.

SAMSUNG Court Case
Well, all I have to say is...if the developers keep turning out stuff like this latest nightly, 08/31 CM10, Apple is going to sue them.
I was floored by the performance boost in the GUI and how I finally have a phone with no personal complaints I can cite.
CPU runs all the code I write fast enough for what I need, and the wireless N support doesn't suck.
On top of that, the radio on the unit works very well for voice calls, far better than my EVO does.
(My poor EVO has been relegated to displaying Weather, playing MP3's and movies as a gift to my sister.)
As for the lawsuit, I would like to remind everyone no money has changed hands yet. There is an appeal process. There _will_ be an appeal process because lawyers don't like to turn down that much cash, I can assure you.
Secondly, the last time LINUX was threatened, was SCO. A grass roots effort over a 5 year period, reduced the company to a rubble pile. Geeks like myself, have HUGE bearing on our friends and our families on what they should buy. Even the small number of geeks at the time working in the open source industry.
Now, it is an entirely different story. Open source runs the modern world now.
If Apple gets out of line, and starts shutting down product lines of companies for what could be argued as the most ridiculous legal proceedings ever, since the SCO case, we will mobilize.
We will mobilize our friends, our families, our places of work and like SCO, Apple will feel our wrath and it will wither and die as a company.
Many like myself feel this way because we understand how technology and science works, and it works by building on previous inventions.
_ALL_ companies build on previous products and technology. Apple is no exception.
If SAMSUNG copied the parts and software I could see legal validation for retribution. But the products displayed in the courtroom in this particular instance have little technological, software or GUI likeness if at all to any Apple product.
Secondly, the jury was stacked by Silicone Valley idiots, which has already been shown to have complete bias towards Apple, regardless of their beliefs of right or wrong in the said legal case against SAMSUNG.
