My Device Wi-Fi Tethering is working fine ........ but i want co connect ad-hoc for using file transfer or kies .......
Also how to connect kies using wifi .....(step by step guide please)
i'm using windows 7 os ... when i create ad-hoc in my laptop my mobile device not show any network ...
any one plz help me step by step guide please please please
sgy not support ad-hoc wifi i think. you can mod your sgy or if you want simple solution just use access point software like connectify.

Check out my thread.. I have the guide to connect your phone to laptop.. But you'll need a WiFi modem.. I am still trying to connect with wifi tethering..
EDIT: for file transfer only..
Menu->setting->wireless and network setting(frist option in setting)->tethering and portiable hostspot
Then click portiable hostspot wifisetting ->confirtion setting
Network ssid -your choice
Security-Wpa2 psk
Pass word-your choice(letter and words must)
Then press back and tick portable wifi hotspot
Now search your laptop with wifi
You will see the your wifi hotspot
Then connect and enjoy

I tried creating ad hoc wifi network in my laptop for my defy but failed. The phone did not detect the network. Then I installed connectify instead and it works faultlessly.
Is there any adhoc patch for defy?

I can connect defy with my laptop without installing any other software. But I'm not sure if it is a ad-hoc network. My laptop wifi driver provide a special ap mode and it can be used to share network.

Same here. I tried all the patches of wpa_supplicant given in this thread as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755254 but the wifi just can't search for any network and it turns off itself.
Another member "webvan" tried the above steps on his Milestone and failed(from the above thread).
Seems like Moto has a different hardware config.
FYI, I'm running 2.2.2 custom rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037076)
What a tragedy.
It seems there's no such patch for Defy.
for me it worked with 3.4.2_177-005_NORDIC rom which i used for a very long time.
the problem is, you must manually connect to an ad-hoc network.
if you don't want to do that each time, you can install cyanogenmod by quarx and it will automatically connect to your saved ad-hoc network
Maybe you should try update to 2.2/2.3 based rom.
Fyi, i'm now at MIUI rom & got no problems with ad-hoc wifi network.
Dont forget to activate Internet Connection Sharing (for windows user), just to assure your device got IP Address automatically.

I've heard a lot of us sometimes got a problem with wifi connection. In my past experience, using this mod will solve these problem. it also enable internet sharing connection thru adhoc connection.
1. download this file.

2. with root explorer open /system/bin. rename wpa_suplicant to wpa_suplicant.bak (for backup).
3. copy the downloaded file to /system/bin.
4. change the permission to 777 (rwxrwxrwx)
how to use adhoc connection (for windows user):
1. open network and sharing centre.
2. click setup new network. choose adhoc connection. press next
3. give name the new connection. choose no-authentificatin for the connection type.
4. clik OK. don't forget to enable internet connection share.

Download Root explorer and then locate the file
long press and when a popup comes out browse for permissions..
change to the specified permissions by kurotsugi
if you use root explorer, press and hold the file, permission, tick all option
what's wifi adhoc for sir? is this for file sharing via wifi?

if you have a laptop or a PC with wifi and already connected to internet, you can make an adhoc connection to share your internet connection with others. in normal situation we can't detect adhoc connection with our device. with this simple mod we can detect and connect to any unsecured adhoc connection.

We have a wifi here at office. I can connect to it but i can't browse. Our company uses a HTTP proxy. I know the username and password. Can you mod our sgy to use proxy with NTLM auhtentication?

where is the input for the password?
if you're trying to acces a secured connection you'll get prompted to fill the password.

I never use merruk kernel for my daily use. you can try to use another kernel. if the problem still exist it means it was kernel bug.

Press button Mount R/W at top and it will show Mounted as r/w..

hey all,
i am trying to configure vpn to my computer (windows 7) and for some reason connecting through 3G to my computer using pptp works flawlessly.
but when i connect to a WIFI network,Any network it fails to connect giving me an Unsuccessful error.
i searched for a solution : maybe a different VPN client but none i found support pptp like the native one and to a windows 7/etc machine only free/paid services which is not what i want.
if any 1 encountered this kind of a a problem or can help me figure it out ?

I could not understand your problem.
if you want to share your mobile internet with your pc then follow the steps below.
1) using data/usb cable
i) using data/usb cable connect your mobile to your pc
ii) go to the settings in your mobile and tap on more option under wireless and networks
iii) go to tethering & portable hotspot
iv) tap on usb tethering
2) using wifi hot spot
i) turn on wifi in your pc
ii) go to the settings in your mobile and tap on more option under wireless and networks
iii) go to tethering & portable hotspot
iv) tap on set up wifi hotspot
v) change the net work name and password and tap on save
vi) now tap on portable wifi hotspot
vii) now in elect the wifi in your pc and enter the pass word.
OK...I understood ur problem..u need to share Ur net from PC to Yureka...here is only one way to share .if u r using laptop stand it has WiFi then u should be able to share Ur PC connection to Ur Yureka ..and if u r using desktop u need to buy WiFi dongle worth of rs 300 from amazone.in...reply me which device u own desktop or laptop??
