Hi all.
I've a little issue with my arc. When i receive an hidden number call at the end of this com.android.phone crashes and i've to enter pin code again.Calls with visible number don't make this.Any idea?
I'm on arconium 7.2 and doomkernel v17fix2,baseband -64 with libs and v6 supercharger.
Thanks a lot.
Alessandro
try another frimware, or do a reflash (incase)
I'm waiting for an ICS final release.Mine isn't really an issue because this kind of calls are very rare, just a curiosity, but if it were possible to solve this would make me happy.

Thanks, I know that problem. It was on dec.20. But now, works perfect on stock SE or Cyanogen rom. But on ICS don't. Doesn't start. Just a black screen and dropped back to the launcher. Without any FC messages.
Viber not working on ICS!
Here is the answer:
Viber on ICS
Thx to all!
viop app doesnt work in this alpha rom i tried many apps but it didnt word
So I thought this might have been just me, or maybe just the ROM I was using but it appears to be more widespread than that. I've confirmed this on GummyNex, CM9 Kang (winner00), and AOKP. I've also confirmed this on my buddies GNex.
With the phone app open and looking at Recent Calls. Lock the screen, then unlock, the swipe the screen over to the dialer and attempt to dial numbers and in some instances it lags heavily. Other times it freezes completely and asks to Wait/Report/Close.
Anyone else having these issues? Any known fixes?
I mean, I could hit home, then re-open the dialer, but shoooooot.
Any help is appreciated.

I can't seem to replicate this bug on my gnex. Tried several times, but i can't get it to lag at all.
What Android version are you running? I'm on 4.0.2.
Bugless Beast ROM and no problem at all.
By any chance do these ROMs all have the modified dialer with T9 support? Than it's most likely a bug in the modified dialer.

Yes, all of them.
Running AOKP b23 now...
Turned off T9 in settings, rebooted. Works perfectly now with no delays. Thanks for the quick response and fix, it was driving me crazy.
I really like that functionality so I hope a remedy is released soon.
Cheers!

Hi All,
As of now I have confirmation from many users running different ICS ROMs on different galaxy models.
To summarize my changes to make Viber microphone work.
1)modified my build prop and replaced GT-I9000 with SGH-I9000.
2) Installed semaphore kernel 0.9.5b and fixed permissions from cwm.(optional)
3) Reboot your mobile.
4) Calls using Viber should work now. (This change will magically fix the microphone issue)
You can use free application from market named 'build.prop editor'.
All the best with your testing.
Press thanks if this works for you.

Big thanks to artikeln, now we have another good source of information on fixing Viber (without breaking game) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24527729
##########post contents #######
With this solution I have tested that Viber and games works
TO MAKE VIBER WORKS Thanks to mcse_hst, thaidroid and Mc.canos
- Modify build prop (i.e with Root Explorer, it is in System dir and with R/O) and replace "GT-I9000" in lines:
ro.product.model=Nexus S
ro.product.brand=Samsung
- Maybe it's necessary fix permissions [DALVIK & CWM] (in Advanced option)
- With this change, Viber works, and it looks that others app also (including games)

You are great
It's working perfectly in
- [4.0.4 IMM 30B base][ROM] EliteV7 Beta (20/03/2012) AOSP NEXUS S/4g
With Devil 1.1.6 and fix permissions, I'm sure that it works with other kernels without problems
Great job
What is it "Viber" ?
Check on the market
edit build prop
replaced GT-I9000 to SGH-I9000
reboot
that will be ok
don't need to change kernel
don't need to fix permission(CWM)
you are really the man.
thanks!!!!!
Er
What exactly was "SOLVED" here??
If you mean that Viber didn't work on ICS ROMs, that's old hat. Viber got updated close to a month ago that does work on ICS...
Am i missing something???

yes
you really miss something
viber can work indeed, But when you call someone
He can't hear what you say ... Just you can hear his voice.
this is very worse
now ... Just edit build prop
Viber works perfectly
do I need to change "all" keys by replacing GT-I9000 with the new one or just a specific one?
oops same question ! -.-
Have you tried telling the Viber folks about this ? From the sound of it, it may be a simple change on the app to fix this prob.

Viber team do know about this prob.
One from their team gave me this link (at an Israeli forum).
I suggested them to add also GT-I9000. I hope they will...

I exchanged many mails with Viber team to make sure that they are aware of this work around.
As per my understanding, either they have problem with code related to GT-I9000 or they don't have this piece included in their code at all.
Hope to see a patched version from Viber team real soon.

Sent from Samsung Galaxy S (GT-I9000) running ICS (AOKP build 28, semaphore kernel 0.9.5b)
As I've said before, it's probably due to Viber using Samsung specific code. With this changed to an unknown device, they're using generic android code and it works. But now, don't complain that you can't install certain applications from the market because market won't recognize that you're a Galaxy S either!
Modify Viber APK
I noticed that there is a res/raw/beta_devices.xml that lists the GT-I9000. I would like to try to change that instead of my build.props. Any recommendations on how I would go about this? I have tried to edit the file and "freshen" the zip, but it fails to install. May I could edit the installed app?
Thank for the input.
Brett
Ha Ha Good on you,
Someone who fixes a development problem instead of saying use skype or any other voip solution
Ohhh unbelievable man, many many many thanks, can't believe that ! But i guess that this tip works also for CM7 ! No?
In the latest nightlies of CM9 and AOKP, I can't call 911, 999 (the emergency number of Hong Kong). The call is ended right after I dial.
When I have a factory reset of CM9, I can make the calls. So, it is related to the apps I installed or settings I've done.
I've uploaded the logcat. Can anyone help me to find out the cause? Not able to make emergency calls is potentially very dangerous.

Thank you in advance!

A known bug for 4.0? Or just CM and CM related ROMs?
But I can make the calls after factory reset. So I though it was related to apps, instead of the OS. And therefore I posted in teh Apps forum.
edit: I made a little search in xda before I posted. I saw only posts whom the owners can only make emergency calls, not normal ones.

It's a recent issue to do with some changes they made to the RIL. Should be fixed in the next few nightlies, you can revert to an older one, 2013/07/08 or earlier should be fine I think.
