[Q] No longer be able to boot into recoverymod - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone got into a serious situation when it can no longer get into recoverymod after I flashed latest Doom kernel V11. I know that we will need to tap the back button continuously when the Doom splash screen appears but seems that it is no longer working for me. At first I assumed it was a bad flash, so I tried to flash both the original .62 fw and Doom kernel V11 again, but it doesn't help no matter how hard I tried. I even failed to get into recoverymod by using Doom XCharge app as the last resource.
Finally I just flash randomly the older Doom kernel V10 and I could get into the recoverymod. But the nightmare never end since my phone just stuck at recoverymod and will not boot into the system no matter how many times I tried to reboot it. I then flashed back to Doom kernel V11 and using the phone now without recoverymod, which is as good as a lock boatloader device.
Any expert users here can give me an advice on my phone case? It is so weird and I am hopeless.

4. keep connected to computer when finished after screen flashes on then turns off disconnect (here is where i got stuck in a loop wouldn't boot past animation until finally turning off while conected to computer)- 5days of searching because i wasn't patient enough to wait a minute before disconecting phone from computer. *Banging my head loudly*

[Q] Can't get my phone to work, please help

Problem solved
Hi guys,
I've got a problem, my phone simply does nothing. This morning i was still using CM7 but i didn't like it so i decided to flash another rom, i flashed Xperia aniking with DooMKernel. Worked fine but there were some traces from CM7 left in my phone. I wanted these gone so i flashed a stock firmware with flashtool, but flashtool gave an error while flashing system.sin. And now i can't get anything to work, it flashed DooMKernel using fastboot but before i can get into recovery it gives me an error. (Triangle sign with a phone?) Then i tried Blendmiuikernel i was able to get into recovery, so i flashed blendmiui but it got stuck on boot. I also tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358 but i got the same error as before,
Please help me guys, i really need my phone
flash stock kernel, relock bootloader and try to update over SEUS.
thanks for your response, going to try now. Really hope this works!
I flashed the stock kernel, relocked bootloader, SEUS says i have the newest firmware. And now when i boot nothing happens, it only vibrates, no LED, no screen nothing.... Any ideas?
I flashed a firmware using WOTANserver and it works now
it should have "INSTAL ANYWAY" button in right down corner..

[Q] arc on loop or no boot at all

My Arc just stopped working without a reason - one moment it just didn't boot up.
I had unlocked bootloader, phone was rooted and had stock firmware LT15i 4.0.2.A.0.42 Generic Global.
Battery was apparently dead, after replacing it i could connect to the phone with flashtool and fastboot. Still i couldn't boot up the system.
So - as i had no better idea, i flashed phone with Xperia 2011 Range_FreeXperia_ALL.ftf and LT15i_3.0.1.A.0.145_Global.ftf - in case radio was damaged or sth.
After that phone manages to boot up from time to time, but in less than minute dies off and reboots. Mostly it reboots before reaching to homescreen.
So i kept trying with flashing with newer firmware, but no success. its even gets worse - with every other firmware it even doesn't try to boot up.
Flashed firmwares:
LT15i_4.0.A.2.368_Generic Global.ftf
LT15i_4.0.1.A.0.283_Generic Global.ftf
LT15i_4.0.2.A.0.42_Generic Global.ftf
LT15i_4.0.2.A.0.62_Generic Global World.ftf
There were no errors during flashing - with any of firmwares.
Any thoughts what i should try to fix my phone? I have ran out of ideas
Try a different kernel and enter cwm. If you can do that then use flashtool, flash .62 firmware, put a custom rom on the sd card like arconium or se tweaked, fastboot dooms kernel v19 and attempt to flash the rom.
What kernel would you recommend?
For 2.3.4(.62) then doomlords kernel.
sinkster©
So i did flash my phone with .62 using Flashtool. Tried both Doomlord kernels -
ARC-DooMKernel-v19-BM-v2-lower_boot.img
ARC-DooMKernel-v19-BM-v2-high_boot.img
In both cases after turning the phone on i can feel a slight vibration like usual, but that's it. Nth shows up on the screen - so i couldn't enter recovery.
I even tried relocking bootloader and "repairing" the phone using PC Companion. Still nth happens during booting.
Would it help to erase boot, recovery, system and try again with newest firmware and DooMKernel? Or might erasing harm sth?
Flashtool shows me that loader version is: R4A066. Maybe i should update that somehow?
Try flashing .62 with flashtool then boot the phone, before using fastboot.
sinkster©
That's how i usually do it. Tried again, didn't solve the problem - won't boot up.
Assuming it's nothing obvious(user data not wiped, etc)as you've done it before. You originally flashed 2.3.3? And if you run that it boots, so could it be the 0% battery issue? I haven't had issues as I've never flashed a previous gb version, but the 0% issue was pretty common but now resolved(somewhere in here)
Yes, always have wiped userdata and it's probably not 0% issue - if i try boot up LT15i_3.0.1.A.0.145_Global Customized.ftf then i sometimes can glimpse homescreen for couple of seconds and it doesn't show battery as empty.
I understand that flashing Xperia 2011 Range_FreeXperia_ALL.ftf and LT15i_3.0.1.A.0.145_Global Customized.ftf won't update everything possible? Maybe i need to extract and flash some components from some newer ftf's or sth?
All I can think of is maybe the boot file is damaged, or corrupted, it seems to be happening to a few posters. Try connecting in fastboot, use 'erase boot', and maybe system too, and start again.
sinkster©
I have tried 'erase boot' too, doesn't help. What puzzles me, is why my phone chooses to boot up (although continiously rebooting) in 2.3.3? I would have given up hope a long time time ago, if it wouldn't boot up at all
Thanks anyway for trying to help, if any new idea pops into your head (others are also welcome to help me), please let me know
Maybe i do sth wrong what is very obvious, although in June '11 i already unbricked once that phone using the same method and it worked:
1) flashing Xperia 2011 Range_FreeXperia_ALL.ftf
2) flashing LT15i_3.0.1.A.0.145_Global Customized.ftf
3) flashing newest firmware..

[Q] LT15i - Advanced Help Needed

Hello,
Before im writing a post here, i made loads of search, but i think i will need some advanced help from advanced users.
My situation is as such, one of my friend asked me to refurbish his OS on his SE ARC, taking note that he had his back button not working(hardware issue).
1. I unlocked his bootloader
2. Download custom Rom (Racing Bean) and FXP kernel.
3.Placed the Rom.zip into his SD card
4. Use flashtool by doomlord version 0.9.8.0, enter fastboot mode through the phone(Menu button) - success in flashing the kernel.
5.I think the battery was quite low, on rebooting the phone to enter recovery mode, the phone just could not boot up, just a vibration felt and the screen is totally blank.
6. I changed with my battery and i have been able to enter fast boot mode again, i flashed kernel again, different kernel this time, but still the phone wont boot up.
6. I cannot go into flashboot mode, since my back button is faulty, where i could have revive the phone by flashing tft file.
If i flashed the system, img through the fast boot mode using the flashtool, will i succeed, im downloading a system, img file and will try that as soon.
Can anyone suggest me how i can revive my sad friend phone . . .
Looking forward . . Wont forget the thanks button as well.
Taz ..
Can you try flashing a stock kernel and stock ROM instead? Also, did you check that the kernel is compatible with ROM? Battery must be at least 50% charged before you try anything.

[Q] Flashed Kernel phone wont turn on.

Hello,
I have a GT-N7105 (Australian Version) and tonight i flashed this kernel (N7105 MK5 kernel) the phone worked fine for a little while and then turned off and now wont go past the boot screen.
My phone was running 4.1.2 i think maybe the kernel wasnt compatible (stupid thing to do i know)
Can anyone help me to get the phone working again if it is at all possible, im currently dling the stock rom from samsung and will try to flash with ODIN.
But im not sure what to do i dont even know where to find the original kernel for my phone.
Thanks
I've never heard of a wrong kernel booting fine, then gradually stop working...
Stock rom through odin (factory reset in recovery first) will fix most issues, in particular it will replace rom and kernel.
factory reset first, then in samfirmware find your model and install it by odin and fix all

It's very rare that a rooted, ROM'd and kernel'd phone will gradually stop working because of that customization.
I've long remembered one post somewhere here that as long as the phone switches on and powers up (regardless of boot loops, black screens or otherwise) As long as you can get to Download mode, you'll find a way to get through.
As everyone else said, flash the stock ROM (making sure you got the right one for your country or the modem might be rendered useless) and fingers crossed you'll be on the pathway to stability. Good luck!
