Audible touch tones just stopped working.
This morning when i used dial pad i've noticed that there is only vibrating without any sound...
I checked in sound settings and there is everything as it should be.
Is there any known solution for this, except master reset...
Thanks...

Ok, so i've managed to solve this...
this has happened when i pulled out my battery without turning off the phone 1st.
So i tried everything what came to my mind, like changing sound levels etc. manually.
Then another thing came across my mind..
pressed and hold power button, turned the phone to silent, then did this same and turned the silent mode off, and it worked...
Just to mention I've never before put phone to silent, and while audible touch tones weren't working, when i press some number in my dial pad, i could hear "something" on speakerphone, something like that action was made but melody was missing.
I was trying to find solution at google but without success, but i saw that there is a lot of people having the same issue, so i recommend to try this, what i've did...
cheers...
it not working for me, but i found solution,
download "audio manager" from market, you can see that, system volume is set to min/off
i set system volume to max and uninstall app, after phone restart tones still all right!

I have Vibrate (Settings/Sound Settings/Vibrate) set for always but my G2 (stock rom) no longer vibrates when I get a text. Any ideas on how to fix that? I spoke with T-Mobile, they walked me thru their troubleshooting but did not solve the problem.
It can still vibrate, as it does every time I re-boot the unit.

SOLVED: Messaging/Menu/Settings/Vibrate (all the way at the bottom).
Did u try going to the mms settings and see if the notification vibrate is set to "always" vibrate I'm pretty sure that default is set to "never vibrate"
Edit: never mind didn't see it was solved

^ correct. Something that has been bothering me too. The notification settings should be a global setting as default unless an app overides it otherwise.

I'm rooted with stock Rom, and also installed the mod to remove the Wi-Fi notification.
I notice that sometimes I cannot increase the volume for games and movies via the volume rocker. It is also dimmed out in system sound settings. The slider is all the way to the left (muted).
Is this a bug? Anyone know how I can fix it? Thanks.

Try going into settings> volume> then adjust slider for music, video, games, other media. There are multiple sliders for volume here.
That is what I was saying, it is dimmed out (disabled). It cannot be moved. Only a reboot fixes it.

I had this happen to me as well last night. All volumes were adjustable except for the Media volume, which was locked in the silent position. A reboot fixed it.

Exactly! The things is, that it happens again after reboot, so it isn't a permanent fix unfortunately
I tried clearing Dalvik cache, so let's see if that fixes it for good.

Same thing for me yesterday media slider was stuck had to reboot to get it to work.
Same thing has happened to me a few times now. I've been able to clear it by switching the phone to vibrate and then adjusting the media volume from the settings menu. It doesn't always work and might require a reboot.

I have an incredibly annoying problem I can't resolve. I'm running Launcherpro and I also use Gosms, stock otherwise but obviously rooted. So anyway, my notification ringer keeps going silent with sound on, but worse is it gets stuck and I can't increase it no matter how I try without resetting. I literally can't do anything to it, the volume slider grays out. I've tried going through settings, using audio manager, and all have the ability to change the notification volume disabled. . Once I reset it it goes back to normal, but eventually and randomly goes back to silent and gets stuck. I have no clue what to do but it's obviously infuriating. I'd appreciate any help and I'm sorry my initial thread was in the wrong place. If any other info is needed please let me know. This is just an awful problem, really frustrating.
Is your notification volume linked to one of the others? Grab audio manager or similar from the play store. .. It shows linked volume controls and gives the option to un link

Figured it out... I had a Profile called "Night" selected under Profiles in the system settings. I toggled profiles off, and voila, I've got sounds again! Hope this helps!
Everything was fine until Tasker switched profiles to Night Mode, which was set to vibrate. Afterwards I decided to adjust that profile and now I can't get anything to vibrate. There's no haptic feedback when I type or when I tap and hold an app to uninstall it. Any ideas on what the problem is?
edit: oh and I went into Settings -> Sound to make sure the vibrate options are checked off there, and then into my keyboard options to make sure they're checked off there too.
Um I can't get Tasker to show me the tutorial pop up any more. But I remember it read something like when Tasker sets your phone to vibrate that your phone cannot disable it. Try creating another task to enable volume.
Do you have a profile set up to set it to day mode? If so try adding a task to enable sound.
