Hello there, this is my problem...
I flashed my phone and now I can't make 3G work. I have tried all this:
- call to my phone company and enter the exact parameters in configuration (user, password, server, etc)
- flash with another custom ROM
- flash with the original stock of my country (Chile) (via Odin, from Doky73 firmwares)
- backup from another GT-S5360L and restore in my phone
- enter into the servicemode *#*#197328640#*#*
Nothing of this have worked.
PLEASE HELP ME!
¿DO YOU KNOW A 3G ADVANCED CONFIGURATION MENU?
¿IS POSSIBLE THAT 3G IS GONE FOREVER?

Did you try changing ur network mode to WCDMA? If its on auto mode then change it.. if still u dont get 3g or the H sign near ur network then its the fault of ur service provider

yes i tried changing to only WCDMA and I lost the signal.
I put the my SIM in another SGY and I changed to only WCDMA configuration and 3G is totally ok... =/
Maybe your current location doesn't have strong enough signal for your SIM card, try changing location

It seems to be a really weird problem.. try asking your service provider for 3g setting FOR galaxy y. If it still doesnt work then ur 3G receptor is not working.
try turning on the packet data, and switch to WCDMA only.
if it does not work turn off packet data, then goto flight mode switch to GSM only and back to WCDMA and turn on packet data again. this also happens on my phone sometimes.

Just rooted my Desire using instructions from Modaco, but have the following issue :
I have no data connection. No matter what I try it always tells me 'unable to connect, you need a network connection in order to..... etc. Wifi is off at present (not one around at work) and all the settings are to Vodafone as they should be. Can make/receive calls without issue. It's a fully unlocked phone so no idea why it's suddenly not able to connect data wise. This is the case whether I try to setup Exchange, browse the web or open Facebook etc.
Any ideas please anyone? I've checked all settings, rebooted etc but to no avail.
Someone, somewhere said that in some cases (don't remember which) APNs presets are missing after rooting. Check your APN setting.
1. Make sure your APN settings are 100 correct.
2. Go to Menu--Settings-->Wireless and networks-->Mobile Networks-->Network Mode--Switch to GPRS and then Back to Auto
Worked for me.

GOod call, it was the APN settings. Added one as below and all connected straight away :
Name : Vodafone
APN : Internet
Username : web
Password : web

Hi! all. i just rooted but don't have 3G network. can anyone help. tried change from GSM/WCDMA auto to GSM only & also tried switching to WCDMA only & then back to GSM/WCDMA auto but still the same. tried switching airplane mode on & then off again. but still can't. whats wrong? i rooted using Paul over at Modaco's r6-desire-root-alt.zip file for bootrom 0.80.

Are you using a Branded or UnBranded Desire??

We are (users of 9195 in Russia) have a trubble with network of this model. It was found that some Samsung phones have default AQUISITION ORDER like UMTS->GSM. I.e. UMTS has higher priority than GSM. And this is a problem. Because there is not so good 3g coverage. And when you are in that area, and level of 3g goes down, we have no network signal at all. For a few seconds (tens of seconds). After that phone is again registered in the network in GSM (2g) mode. May be the problem is not in AQUISITION ORDER, but I would like to test it.
So I need to enter into servise mode (to see DEBUG SCREEN). I know that it was possible using *#0011#-back-input key 1-back. But in my firmware it is impossible.
Could you please try to enter this mode and then say if it was successfull what firmware (modem) you are using.

You can just manually select the mode to 2G only?
yes, I can use only GSM, but I don't want to do so. Because I constantly use mobile internet.

i have entered the service mode after reading your guide. first of all thanks for it bcoz no other method was working.

IN MY MICROMAX A210 NETWORK GSM/WCDMA(auto mode) working and 3g is also working. but when i select WCDMA ONLY (3G) THEN THERE ARE NO NETWORK AND SHOW RED CROSS ON NETWORK BARS.EVEN WHEN AUTO MODE THEN 3G WORK PERFECTLY PLEASE SHOW ME ANY SOLUTION.

Thanks but when i select WCDMA Only in network setting there are no network only show red cross on network bars

than why network GSM/WCDMA(auto mode) working and i also use 3G.But when i switch to WCDMA MODE there is no network.even when i insert sim in another mobile 3g is also work
Search for MT6589_modem_v7_08.05.2013 on Google download the file and flash it via cwm, before flashing make a backup of ur current modem.img from system/etc/firmware it solved my problem u can try if u want @gurdial make proper backup of ur rom before flashing

After reboot phone setup wcdma/gsm network priority. There is also problem with changing to lte/wcdma/gms , you cannot click it directly, need first click like gsm and then lte to make it active.

I'm having the same problems, but I finally get LTE working
Same for me. But I don't have LTE yet. So didn't bother too much.
maybe you can try this:
FIX 4G PROBLEMS
edit build.prop
- look for 'telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=0' and change it to 'telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1'
look for 'ro.semc.version.fs=GLOBAL-HSPA' and change it to 'ro.semc.version.fs=GLOBAL-LTE'
reboot your phone
type *#*#4636#*#*
Select phone informations (first menu)
turn off radio
in network prefered I've selected TD-SCDMA, LTE, CDMA, EvDO GSM/WCDMA
turn on radio again
exit
type *#*#4636#*#* again and look in network prefered, it will be on LTE/GSM auto (PRL) and 4G should be there

Yup, since it is located in system partition.

Hi, I did all the steps except the ro.semc one, because there is no such setting in my build.prop. However I still wasn't able to get 4g working, it just keeps switching back to the old settings.. Any ideas? Running cm12.1 android 5.1.1
Re issue with LTE/4G

i got my phone back from SONY's technical services, cause i had a bunch of issue (i sent it twice in a month).
For now, the battery drain isseu seems to be fixed, but i do not have 4G/LTE.
I already encounter this issue, and after the service menu manipulation, everything got back in order.
I tried to do the same manipulations, but i can't turn off radio. It's like it was locked.
Any ideas ?

Worked for me,cheers.
When i bought D855p it came with 4.4, then i updated to 5.1, all official. After this i installed Cyanogenmod 12.1 and everything were fine. But when i installed 6.0(poland) my network signal keeps droping the intire day, it changes to UMTS and HSPA. I cant use my phone as a phone. The only way to solve this is, every time that i turn off the cel or put in airplane mode, is enter in MOBILE NETWORKS > NETWORK OPERATORS > SEARCH NETWORKS and choose GSM. (but i need to do this EEEEEVERY TIME that my cel turns off/airplane mode).
6.0 is the only ROM that i can choose GSM and the signal keep ~stable~. At least i can use my phone as a phone !
I did a backup of my IMEI before installing cm12 as well.
Things that i already tried :
-Flash ALL modem (ALL) , including 21C.
-intall cm13 and after cm12. Using TWRP 2.8 and 3.0.
-stock 4.4 , 5.0 , 5.1 and again 6.0. Using LGFlashTools
-MANY factory resets and wipes !

Same issue. I am on stock 4.4 and mobile network signal keeps dropping on weak signal area. I set to gsm/edge mode to mobile network. But nothing goes fine.

Disable VOLTE n go to ur models service menu (check google) for me it was

go to field test >network mode>set GSM permanently (try different gsm 850,990,etc)
Back > RAT selection > select GSM
U cant have network problems now cuz ur permanently set to gsm dont use 3g or 4g use wifi

I'm sad to hear that. Try also flashing modem 21C. There are also other guides for restoring your signal around the forum, different things seem to work for different people.
