Ah just run an ruu, can't give you a step by step I'm at work. Loads of guides right here in wildfire forum.try here first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12782364 should find everything you need. There are a couple of really good 2.2 sense Roms too just incase you don't need to go back to stock.
if this text has changed, then so has my rom.
Use my guide, made recently , it is in my signature.

Apparently you can read a little if you unrevoked.... try that first, it works....I swear.
1) check this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701245
2) This should be in the Q & A section
You will need a recovery program in order to flash most roms. The two I am aware of are Amon_RA (most popular around these forums), and Clockwork.
but can any1 walk me through installing OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM 4.0 plzz

Check out OMJ's thread on PPCGeeks. There is a link in the line "YOU MUST BE FULLY ROOTED!", which you can use as your walkthrough. It's easy. Trust me. Just read, and read again. And before you begin, read one more time.

Yes that is the right guide to do a perm Root. Also what rom version is the Desire Z on? If it's on the 1.72 or 1.82 you will have to downgrade to 1.34 before you can root.
ROOT USING THIS GUIDE
If your on 1.72 or 1.82 DOWNGRADE USING THIS GUIDE.This downgrade will work for the 1.82 version, even though its for the 1.72
thank you guys for all your help I did it
Now the only thing is to choose very stable and working rom ?
Could you recommend any?
Thank you

For me stability is important, so is minimizing the number of times I have to wipe my device. So I avoid pre-release ROMs including RC's so I'm running the stock rooted ROM right now but anticipate moving to CM7 as soon as it's released and verified as stable.
Hello,
I bought a HTC Desire from Taiwan(China) and would like to change the OS to Swedish (Nordic).
I have tried Morelocale2 but it doesnt work, I figure there is no SWEDISH-ROM or settings for it inside the current STOCK-ROM.
Anyone have the ROM with Swedish?
Or anyone know any other ways to get my phone blonde and blue eyed(Swedish)?
Thanks All ! I do appreciate it!
Root it, install a custom rom and morelocale will work
which custom ROM do I need ?

Anyone will do. On the Stickies (dev section) you will find the desire index. There is the list with all the custom roms. Since you are a beginner , I would recommend leedroid no-a2sd (froyo version is more stable than gingerbread).
In the stickies you will also find a noob proof video tutorial with instructions

which one should I do first, Root or Custom-ROM ?
Root. You have to root to install a custom rom.

Do step 2, 3, read 6 and do 7.
I did or I tried, on step 3 the revoked program tells me connection interrupted. What to do? My hboot version is 0.93. 0001 does that make a difference?

Make sure you have the hboot drivers installed, the usb is properly connected and retry
Yes, root first.
And, you can only mod CID inside you phone. It can change language.
like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893353
You should try GB with Insertcoin 1.0.1 experience, it's like you have a new phone
For that you must s-off your phone.

Thank you all ! It worked out fine, and thanks from my sister too since it's her phone !
make sure you backup your phone after you root it
that way you can go back if your new rom stops working or hangs

It's a 2 step process.
1: Change HBoot from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132028
2: The actual S-OFF (Root) Process:

You went from an X10 to a Wildfire? May I ask why?

????
I use CM7 Nightlies at the moment, and am very happy with it. (Remember to take a backup of the Stock ROM, in case your friend discovers he prefers HTC Sense over AOSP)
