Hey fellas!
I am new to this phone, earlier i had x10 which was pretty easy to root, ohkk forget that,my question is how to root, i read some guides. But i am too confused..:O
Here is my Software info:
Android Version: 2.2.1
BaseBand Version: 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10
Build No.: 2.25.720.1 CL299250 release-keys
Software Number: 2.25.720.1
so which method should i follow...??
DONE WITH ROOTING AND CLOCKWORK MODE RECOVERY
It's a 2 step process.
1: Change HBoot from 1.01.0002 to 1.01.0001:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132028
2: The actual S-OFF (Root) Process:

You went from an X10 to a Wildfire? May I ask why?

can u suggest me stable and fast ROM,there are too many ROMs.!
????
I use CM7 Nightlies at the moment, and am very happy with it. (Remember to take a backup of the Stock ROM, in case your friend discovers he prefers HTC Sense over AOSP)

Hello,
I bought a HTC Desire from Taiwan(China) and would like to change the OS to Swedish (Nordic).
I have tried Morelocale2 but it doesnt work, I figure there is no SWEDISH-ROM or settings for it inside the current STOCK-ROM.
Anyone have the ROM with Swedish?
Or anyone know any other ways to get my phone blonde and blue eyed(Swedish)?
Thanks All ! I do appreciate it!
Root it, install a custom rom and morelocale will work
which custom ROM do I need ?

Anyone will do. On the Stickies (dev section) you will find the desire index. There is the list with all the custom roms. Since you are a beginner , I would recommend leedroid no-a2sd (froyo version is more stable than gingerbread).
In the stickies you will also find a noob proof video tutorial with instructions

which one should I do first, Root or Custom-ROM ?
Root. You have to root to install a custom rom.

Do step 2, 3, read 6 and do 7.
I did or I tried, on step 3 the revoked program tells me connection interrupted. What to do? My hboot version is 0.93. 0001 does that make a difference?

Make sure you have the hboot drivers installed, the usb is properly connected and retry
Yes, root first.
And, you can only mod CID inside you phone. It can change language.
like this:

You should try GB with Insertcoin 1.0.1 experience, it's like you have a new phone
For that you must s-off your phone.

Thank you all ! It worked out fine, and thanks from my sister too since it's her phone !
make sure you backup your phone after you root it
that way you can go back if your new rom stops working or hangs

Try contact Revolutionary then. Because they made the prog and we don't have a crystal ball where we can see why it doesn't work for you.
and make sure you follow all steps as they mentioned on revolutionary page

I had the same problem, the second time has succeeded
I wish some of you members would be a little more polite to people. Yes they are asking a question that has been asked a few times, but so what? This forum is for helping people.
By the time you have insulted them you could have posted a helpful answer and been the saviour of the thread
Download the file again, chances are you're using the old version which needs the OLD beta key
do it with revolutionary........before using it properly install htc desire(with htc sync) drivers, adb drivers(if on windows)...google for the drivers....uninstall the htc sync....then run revlutionary ...and the beta key is 3EOf1E7vN1CEe1XJ...rooted my desire with official gingerbread....now on miui....the link for revolutionary is http://revolutionary.io/.....
link for adb drivers is http://rexton270.wordpress.com/2010...ndows-hboot-driver-installation-instructions/
I just rooted over the weekend, i used Revolutionary tool, and used the HTC Fast Boot Drivers that are linked on that site. Nothing else.
Everything the loaded up fine, after that i was able to just go into Recovery and install a custom ROM.
yah!!
Revolutionary would do it. Then revolutionary have an SU patch zip file you can run through Recovery, Install zip from SD. Then you can root original 2.3 on Desire

My friend would like to install the latest version of Cyanogenmod on his HTC One X running on Android 4.2.2 w/ Sense 5. The issue is, I'm only experienced with Nexus devices, and so I'm not familiar with terms such as 'super cid' and 's-off', so any help would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
First of all, check the faq http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38702147
There's no diy s-off for one x.
Latest official cyanogenmod is 11, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48786215 still in early nightly development, expect a lot of bugs as stated in the op. I wouldn't recommend it to your friend for daily use, HTC is no nexus by far.
