my best regards.

Wrong section dude.... Post it in Q & A.. And please search the forum.. evetything is there...
Use Superoneclick software to root ur Arc.
Search on google for Superoneclick software. It is freely available..
But if ur firmware is .62 then u cant root it as SOC software doesnt have support to root the .62 firmwares...
Hit thanks if I helped u..

thank you

Hello,
I m sorry, I couldnt reply early as I was quite busy with some work.
1)Can u plz tell me what build u r having? Is it 4.0.0.A.0.42 or 0.62? To check it go to Settings->About Phone. there u'll find it.
3)Before going ahead with rooting, make sure u have latest drivers installed. Install the latest version of PC Companion.
2)If it is .0.42 then u can root it using the Superoneclick but if it is 0.62 then I'm afraid, u need to flash the cell with already rooted .62 firmware cos rooting 0.62 manually is not present at the moment.
3) The pre rooted .0.62 firmware is available on the forum just check u'll get it.
4)If u have 0.42 firmware, then to root it. Make sure u have USB Debugging selected. To select it, go to settings->Development->USB Debugging
5) Now open the Superoneclick software. And connect the cell to PC via USB
6)Dont make any changes to Superoneclick Software, just select method as Zergrush and click on root.
7)Wait for the process to complete, the SOC will send a su command to ur cell click on ok when a pop up comes.
8) Check the cell and check for Superuser app in ur app drawer.
Thats it!

rooting 4.0.0.A.0.62
I used wotan server to flash my firmware to 4.0.0.A.0.42 and then root it. Its a long process but worth it.

thanks
How do you update to 4.0.2.A.0.62?
And if you root your device again using zergRush method, all apps should get their su permissions again.
try rooting using Flashtool 0.4.2,
put phone to usb debug,
just let it switch on,
plug in usb cable,
see for the lock icon beside the thunder icon,
if it gray it cant be root (means not supported or something like that)
if it black, just click it, wait for the root process, when its done the phone will restart automatically.
and done, see the result for your self.

Rooting Arc S

i am planning on getting rid of my W8 & buying a Arc S....but i am a bit stumped by a couple of things. i like modding my phones....my W8 was pretty modded out...i didnt unlock the bootloader & ran stock kernel but i could still flash custom roms. can i still do that with the arc s? i mean do i have to unlock bootloader in order to install any custom roms?? & are the steps to rooting an arc the same as rooting an arc s?? any help would be appreciated....
arc S can be rooted with zergrush method very easy...
on locked booltoader so far can instal only 2 custom rom based on stock firmware...
also theme, mods can be instaled with CWM on locked BL..
Which two roms are you talking about? Can I flash even with cwm recovery 5.0.2.7 nAa r2? (the one with thd auto_installer in themes and apps category) thanks for you attention!
Sent from my Arc S LT18i using Xda Premium App
Xperia MOD is first one, i cant remember which is second one sry :/

Hi guys
i wanna make a simple question and i hope i can get the reply i want
basically i was planning to ask if there is an easy way to root my phone and i had found it on this section so i cover up my 1st question
the second think i want to ask is that since i am planning to root my phone and start playing around with roms and apps i would like to ask before i go ahead and root the phone how can i backup the original firmware of the phone so if in case i screw it up at list i will be able to go back to the original state by flashing the original image of the phone. the reason i am asking that is because i had destroy my new Atrix 2 and till now i haven't manage to get the Asia Pacific version so i was forced to install an ATT version and sale the phone half price instead keeping it and just looking at it, so this time i want to follow the safe side
the details of the phone is as follow and i just bought it today morning
Model: LT18i
Version:2.3.4
kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: 4.0.2.A.0.62
i will deeply appreciate any response and advise from you guys

Don't think there's rooting kit for your build yet..
if you happen to root it, download SE Extreme Tweak Installer.. this will install CWM Recovery where you can backup and restore your firmware before bootup.
Then you can start messing around.

Can you tell me from where i can download that because i had found this which is mentioning that is working for my version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350
please also explain if i can use the back up to reflash my phone in its original state at any time i wish and how through the phone or by any third party application like Odin i.e. and where can i locate the back up file inside the phone or SD memory
i am owner of S2 and i am doing pretty well but with Arc s i am just noob
yea...i did the same too....rooted it installed CWM & backed up my rom & tried to flash a custom rom that didnt require bootloader unlocking or custom kernel.....i managed to do sumthng do the phone...it got stuck at the se logo...it wudnt even go to CWM....later the guys here advised me to use flashtool to reflash a stock firmware...& i did & with my fingers crossed...did so & got my arc s back alive.....after this episode...i lost the nerve to flash custom roms in my arc s......& i have been flashing custom roms in my w8 & this never happened.....this shows that the arc s development area is still not ironclad yet
btw...i do have a question.....i am a bit confused by the system info from antutu benchmark....the original stated RAM for the arc s is 512MB. but in antutu benchmark shows total RAM as 335MB.....i dont get it.....can anyone else confirm this??

But frankly, you searched for so long but didn't find anything? Unbelievable! Perhaps you should brush up your googling skills. :-\

see dude ill give u a step by step guide..
Download DRIVERS & Flastools from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653188 (Under DRIVERS & SOFTWARES Title)
the easy but little long way....
1) back up contacts(click menu, click backup contacts, then click memory card) to sd and save the file(which will be in sd/system/PIM folder to pc)
2) copy/paste all images, videos, music, etc to pc .
3) download Generic Trade Central Europe 1 (2.3.4) (1254-2716) from here >> http://forum.android.com.pl/f308/oprogramowanie-dla-sony-ericsson-xperiaa-arc-s-147007/
4) download atleast flashtool Version 0.6.8.0 (google it or search threads)
5) download doomlord_v4_root-zergrush-busybox-su (for root) ( same google it or search threads)
6) open flashtools and drag Generic Trade Central Europe 1 (2.3.4) (1254-2716) ftf file in flashtools. A pop-up will come telling u same as i am telling u in 7th step .
7) switch off your phone, hold the “Back” key (key at the bottom left on your Arc s), and then connect the USB cable to your phone. Remember you’ve to hold the “Back” key while connecting the USB cable to phone.
Once the phone gets connected — Flashtool will automatically start the flashing process. (once the process starts u can unhold the back key)
Keep an eye on the Flashtool’s screen.
And once the process gets finished, disconnect your phone from PC and switch it ON.
Don’t freak if it takes longer to boot (that’s normal) as the phone has to build the cache again after flashing.
once you get .42 gingerbread, enable usb debugging and unknown sources from in phone settings, connect phone to pc via usb and run doomlord_v4_root-zergrush-busybox-su(runme batch file)
your phone might restart, disconnect from pc and then check you will have root.... then update your phone via wi-fi as u will recieve .62 update, once its updated first boot will take time. Then you will still have root in .62 firmware of gingerbread
Shew!!

well it was to download first 4.0.2.A.0.42 Generic Trade Central Europe 1 (2.3.4) (1254-2716) not .62, u have to root with my steps told being in .42 then update via wi-fi to .62 .......... (u will find .42 little down in the list on that website)
i told u in my steps on the earlier post that "once you get .42 gingerbread" then enable usb debugging and unknown sources from in phone settings, connect phone to pc via usb and run doomlord_v4_root-zergrush-busybox-su(runme batch file)
and so on ..... maybe you missed it, its ok if u didn't do it this way and instead downloaded the .62 ftf file
just do it this time correctly n it should work....

rooting Xperia T is realy easy :
there is no problem if you are on 18.1.A.1.14. it's explained in Google...
if you are on 18.1.a.1.21 :
Flash only the kernel 18.1.a.1.14 with Flashtool.
start the phone and connected it to PC (even if the phone is blocked on "updating apps")
Root the phone with RootKitXperia (last version is 20140719)
shutdown the phone
Flash only the kernel 18.1.a.1.21 with Flashtool.
start the phone
run SuperSu and accept upgrade.
in order to well connect the phone to PC you need to allow debbug USB, and to put the scard in MSC mode
