[Q] Mapping volume buttons to function as music control instead of volume? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I come from the LG Optimus V, which worked beautifully with Button Remapper: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464
Is anyone aware of a way to re-map the volume buttons for music control? I frequently have the phone in my pocket while taking the bus, so would like to advance tracks tactilely

From what I know, it's only available on 2.3.5... It's definitely not on .6. And I believe it's all down to the Dev to do that

Just tried Poweramp and Playerpro, neither worked for me. I didn't see any options for enabling this either.
I see from this post that the volume buttons may work with the screen already on, but I'm looking to use the buttons to advance tracks even while the screen is asleep:

I'm going to look into BeastMod to see if this feature is enabled

Just discovered this new Tactile Player Pro app:

Works beautifully, requires two presses, but I retain the volume functions

Music Mod by Eliot Stocker. Uses volume buttons to skip track Don't think there's a hack to use other buttons for pause though.

Music mod looks good, will have to try that. I use iPhone headphones to pause and play the music plus it works well for calls and its a comfy fit.

[Q] Music Player with hardware controls

I want to use my in-ear sony earphones with my Desire for running. Now they don't have a mic or remote built into them, so I need a music player app that supports hardware controls for Next song, Play/Pause etc.
Could anyone suggest any good one?
Thanks guys!
Music mod has long press vol buttons as last/next song skip.

That's helpful, thanks!
Would some app allow the usage of the front buttons too?

Is there also a link for this?
It's the "feature" I really miss. It's veeeery annoying to wake and skip song.
Its on the market Im sure one will eventually, but if youre on vanilla roms, I think you can play/pause witg the trackpad? Not sure about that though.

Doesn't work for me. There is only "Skip with trackball" but this doesn't work. Maybe because I also wake my phone with the trackball. I need the controls with volumebuttons :S
You mean this one, right?

[Q] volume keys to skip tracks

Hi all,
Does anyone know of an app/software hack that will allow a long press on the + and - volume keys to skip tracks while the screen is off?
the CyanogenMod rom allows this function but i cant seem to find it in a non sense rom or an app/hack to do it
apart from flashing the above rom (quite like the sense interface though)
I know its a little thing but its really useful when out jogging etc to just use the volume keys. I use spotify as my music player so would need to be a OS type fix and not separate music player.
Thanks for your help
Apologies if i missed a fix, i did a search and never found anything
anyone?
hopefully htc incorporate this into newer phones

Ultimate Ears 600vi earphone cannot get full control

I got an Ultimate Ears 600vi, it can only control the PLAY, PAUSE & NEXT functions with using default player and PowerAMP. Other functions such as VOLUME UP, DOWN & BACK don't work. Anything to make all those functions work?
thanks

vol+ and vol- are Ifunction ( Reference to ipod, iphone, etc ) and can be used by this phone. Nothing will make them work, unless some re create the sound driver and add event for those input. I don't even think it's possible. So to answer yor question : no, sry.

[Q] Any way to get headphones meant for iPhone to work?

I want to get these Bose headphones but the volume and skip-track buttons only work on the iPhone. Any way to get it to work with Android?

Because it's a hardware problem you can only get the skip/repeat/stop track rockers, volume won't work. I use poweramp and it works like a charm.
Are you saying Poweramp is an app that allows you to use the iPhone controls with android? Thanks.
