I want to use my in-ear sony earphones with my Desire for running. Now they don't have a mic or remote built into them, so I need a music player app that supports hardware controls for Next song, Play/Pause etc.
Could anyone suggest any good one?
Thanks guys!
Music mod has long press vol buttons as last/next song skip.

That's helpful, thanks!
Would some app allow the usage of the front buttons too?

Is there also a link for this?
It's the "feature" I really miss. It's veeeery annoying to wake and skip song.
Its on the market Im sure one will eventually, but if youre on vanilla roms, I think you can play/pause witg the trackpad? Not sure about that though.

Doesn't work for me. There is only "Skip with trackball" but this doesn't work. Maybe because I also wake my phone with the trackball. I need the controls with volumebuttons :S
You mean this one, right?

Hey!
I would love to skip a track in the (sense) music-player by holding the volume-up-button (1-2 sec). I dont have a key on my headphones, so this would be very comfortable! Is there a mod already? I didnt find anything through the search. Is this generally possible at all?
Thanks!
(and by the way: you guys at xda are AWSOME!! what a great community with so brilliant modders! thanks for your work! )
Anyone? Please! This would be great
Bumping this thread. I know that Cyanogen mod has this. Anyone know how that works?
I'm interested in something like this too.
Bump... No one knows of any such mod?? Changing a song while commuting is a pain. And the desire will not work with a wired remote other than the stock thing which has crap headphones attached to it.
I'm also interested
i'm also searching for this :/
my stock headphone buttons dont work anymore so this would be ideal.
UP !
would love to see this feature implemented to the stock music player
I'm currently using PowerAMP, only because it has this feature, but unfortunately it uses a lot of battery life, and it's only a trial verion, which is going to expire soon
PLEASE
poweramp has this feature? playerpro has it too but playerpro is draining my battery pretty quickly too
shake ur phone, u'll skip to the next track, that's what ttpod does.
Long story short i'd broken my headphones that came with the desire yesterday and i hate having to get the phone out of my pocket to change the song, is there a hack to control it from the physical buttons? It's really getting on my nerves and i think i remember seeing something on it a while ago

Music Mod by Eliot Stocker. Uses volume buttons to skip track Don't think there's a hack to use other buttons for pause though.

Thanks, all I really wanted to do was change the Wong so it will do fine

Music mod looks good, will have to try that. I use iPhone headphones to pause and play the music plus it works well for calls and its a comfy fit.

I come from the LG Optimus V, which worked beautifully with Button Remapper: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850464
Is anyone aware of a way to re-map the volume buttons for music control? I frequently have the phone in my pocket while taking the bus, so would like to advance tracks tactilely
From what I know, it's only available on 2.3.5... It's definitely not on .6. And I believe it's all down to the Dev to do that

Just tried Poweramp and Playerpro, neither worked for me. I didn't see any options for enabling this either.
I see from this post that the volume buttons may work with the screen already on, but I'm looking to use the buttons to advance tracks even while the screen is asleep:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339337
I'm going to look into BeastMod to see if this feature is enabled
Just discovered this new Tactile Player Pro app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22818343&highlight=volume+buttons+skip#post22818343
Works beautifully, requires two presses, but I retain the volume functions
hi, can we passe the next song and be back to the previuos one by using the volume rockers ??? thks in advance............
search for 'Tactile Player' on Market, that's the thing, it can even control non-stock players

Not sure if it's possible using the stock music player but I think apps from the market let you. Not sure which ones but it's certainly an option. I think PowerAmp might, have a search one google and see which ones do
Hope you get it working,
Roo.
power amp doesn't allows to change song using volume rocker... at least in gingerbreads....
