[Q] Missing text sounds/vibration - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I'm on calk's ICS FB06 rom, and the ICS-4-ICS fb06 theme, and for some reason I don't get any sounds when I get a text. Volumes all the way up, notifications are turned on with a loud default alert selected, etc.
I get no sounds and no vibrations despite receiving texts, and despite the LED light showing up

MikFroyo v4.6 Notification sound error?

I can't seem to get a notification sound for incoming text, only vibrates. I've tried setting ringtone after ringtone for notification sounds with no success, can anyone help?
I have changed the message notification settings (Handcent and Messages) numerous times without any luck. I use Handcent as the default.
Have you checked your profile setting? Like if you'r eon silent, it won't ring. Or if you're using another app that'll override it.
Yes, I'm on "normal" in the sound profile settings. The phone rings fine, I get my sound alerts for email, voicemail etc and it is all correct. Notification sounds for incoming text is the only sound not working correctly, only vibrates on incoming text.
bump............

[Q] Notification bug or something else?

I've got a problem where none of my ringtones work. When I get a incoming call, I see a little status icon that seems to indicate no sound, then I get a small beep followed by the answer the call screen.
I do get notifications for SMS messages so I'm unclear as to whether or not this is the standard notification bug or something different. Additionally, the problem continues after a reboot.
Silent mode is off, the phone is set to ring and vibrate (neither happen), and I have a standard ring tone (I've tried almost all of them).
My modem is FD19 and I'm using Calkulin's E4GT 2 v1.4 rom. I've had ringtones on this rom with different modems - but every time something would happen and it would stop working?
Interesting... if I reboot and bluetooth is off (not sure bluetooth is related), the first call will ring. The second won't. I didn't do anthing but answer the phone then hangup my receiver and wait for the phone to return to the home screen on its own.
This acts like the notification bug but with somewhat slightly different behaviors and fixes.
I am now on FD24 modem - so much for the notification bug fixe!

Notifications while on a Call?!

I currently have on my wife's S2 the FF18 Celstial Body ROM v1.0. She loves that theme because of the colors. I have the FL24 Stock Kernel on it and the FL24 Modem. She has GO Sms installed for her texting messaging. For some reason, when she is on a call and she gets a text, her notification sound goes off in her ear and the other party can hear it also. I have checked into her call settings when the dialpad is up and there is nothing selected for call alerts to be on and i checked within her Go Sms settings for notifications and the option for sound on call is unchecked? Anyone have any suggestions? I really want to keep her on this ROM because of the girly like theme but then again, the notification alerts going off while on the call is annoying. She said she can also have her phone on vibrate only or even silent, and the alerts will go off while on a call. Someone HELP!!! lol

[Q] Can't change Handcent & gmail notification sounds

It doesn't matter what I do. I've tried every single thing I've found on here. No matter what I set the notification sounds to in handcent & gmail, the notification sound that plays is the system default notification sound. Even if I set it to silent the default always plays. I want to be able to distinguish the difference of when I get a text & an email. Someone please help!!! I've been sitting here for over 3 hours trying to get this to work right. What can I do to fix this?

SMS notifications making different sounds

When I get an SMS notification, I get the generic notification sound that the rest of the apps on my phone use. Despite setting a specific notification for SMS in the sound settings, it never seems to matter and I only get the one that is the generic notification sound universally across the phone. I am using Textra, if it matters.
