Hi guys,
My proplem is like this : First, when I bought my Xperia Play(4 months ago)my home network WiFi worked very well on it but today when I search for wifi network I just can not find it I checked my laptop: the WiFi was working very well and I checked my family phones (Android and Iphone) and also they are connecting and working.
I tried to do the next : 1- turn off and on my modem (I think it is called like that, I am not that good in networks) but nothing happened
2-turn off and on wifi on my phone
3-turn off and on my Xperia Play
4-Uninstalled go launcher
last things I have did before this happened :
1- Installed a game from the market that uses WiFi called : The Sims Free Play
2- Installed go launcher and go locker with ICS theme
More information : when I go to my WiFi settings I see that IP address is Unavailable.
I hope that you help me I really can not use my Xperia Play without WiFi and thank you.

I have the same problem. Tried to install different ROM`s but it seems that phone connectivity is gone. It is not able to connect to cellular network (searching connection forever) but BT and WIFI works fine as well as all other stuff. This is not an issue with location since I tried it in different places where other phones working fine and shows excelent signal.
Odd, my data connection suddenly quit yesterday as well (had the EVO series ROM loaded). I loaded on the new build from today and it worked for a few, but then stopped again.
Any ideas? I can make/receive phone calls, but the data connection is no longer responding.
nobody know ???
hmm, nobody know how to dissolve this problem or nobody care ??

Just out of curosity what is shown in the "Access Point" under Connections/GPRS for your data settings?
try internet2.voicestream.com or epc.tmobile.com
Hello guys, I have a problem here. It seems that whenever I use internet on my desire HD, my network does not automatically connect. I have to manually turn on the mobile network in settings. Do u guys have this problem or which anyone can help?
If I understand you correctly you need to check the box for "always-on" data. Go to: MENU->SETTINGS->WIRELESS & NETWORKS->MOBILE NETWORKS->ENABLE ALWAYS-ON MOBILE DATA.
If you already have that checked I'm not sure what else is causing your data to not be always on, or are you talking about your wi-fi connection?
For that follow path to wireless & networks, but then go to: WI-FI SETTINGS->MENU (soft key by home button)->ADVANCED->WI-FI SLEEP POLICY->(select)NEVER.
I had the same problem.
I had to get a new sim because my old one was 10 years old and wasn't fully compatible with my new phone. It re-sent out over 500 texts from my outbox.
I had to ring my service provider. They said my sim card had a old vault version
Sent from my DHD LeeDroid v1.2 -- Buzz v1.0.6 OC-UV stable at 1.41GHz -- Only ENG S-OFF.

reboot your phone?
Go to Settings - Wireles & Networks - Mobile network and check what's set for Network Mode.
I had set my phone by mistake on GSM only, and 3G was not working. I then changed it to WCDMA (preferred)/GSM and now it activates HSDPA instead of 3G and it works fine.
still not working
reboot did not solve it network change as well as I remember it was ok when I bought it but since I started to use wifi it was gone.the phone cannot load market, built in facebook, google maps.I am holpeless, help pls!
reboot did not solve it
maybe you have slow connection.
on my provider i have 1GB on top speed (almost like ADSL on home)
but after 1gb i get speed of 64kbps and that is realy slow, and market wont work
did u see an icon named "E" or "H" on d status bar...which indicates dat u hav a working data connection which means d problem s d speed of ur netwrk s slow...
if u dont c it then go to settings>wireless&&networks>search for ur networks and register on it...
it is solved.there were three apn points mms, wap, internet and I was using wap when I switched internet apn point on market and gmail and all built in apps started to work.so I am finally happy again.thanks to all on this thread
I need your help everyone. My brother is using the Galaxy S II running ICS 4.0.1 that was bought along with my S III and it is acting up. GSII is running stock ICS, and still in stock configuration. Phone is not rooted or messed with in any manner. The phone connects and stays connected to the Home Network, but data transfer stops after few seconds. All the other devices at home (laptops, PC, other phones) stay connected and works fine. Home network is through Century link and wireless is through actiontec modem and wifi router - http://www.actiontec.com/products/product.php?pid=264#.UOyOPB3aI7s). He has been using this phone with no problems with the same wireless network for almost 4 months and this issue started almost a month ago. I have no idea why it went wrong all of a sudden and not had any luck in finding a solution from all my research.
Problem: When WiFi is activated, it will connect to the home wireless network and will work for few seconds. As soon as background activity that requires data stops, the WiFi stops working. If I am browsing or a video is playing on Youtube, it will stay connected, but as soon as I exit out of the application that is pulling data, it stops working. I have to turn it off and back on again for it to work, but this issue repeats. From looking at the signal bars for WiFi, its full (I was sitting next the router) upload arrow blinks once in a while but noting on the download. None of the apps are connected to the network. Browser will show loading for a while and then displays no network connection message. I tried google play, youtube, third parts apps etc. to ensure its not just the browser. When I turn off the WiFi, the phone seams to download a bunch of messages and updates that was not being pulled for a while. My GSIII connects fine with the network and it works fine even after being idle for hours. I have no idea what is going on and would really appreciate any help. I am close to calling Samsung and T-mobile, but thought I will try here first as we all know how easy it is to deal with those guys.
Things I have tried so far: I have tried all of the following based on suggestions I read from other forums I found through google search.
1. Factory Reset the system: FAIL. After the reset was complete, I waited for everything to finish loading and then I connected to WiFi by inputting all the necessary details. Same results, will work for few seconds and stops.
2. Restart the Modem and Router: FAIL. I do not think it is modem or router related issue as my S III seams to connect and work fine.
3. Turn off the security for wireless network: FAIL. Same result as above.
4. Try different encryption: FAIL. Same result as above.
5. Forget the Network and redo: FAIL. Same result as above.
6. Change the IP address to Static in advanced settings for the network: Worked for a while and then this stopped too.
7. Change WiFi sleep policy: FAIL. Changed it to " When device sleeps", "Never" and "Always", does not make any difference.
8. Third party apps suggested by everyone: FAIL.
This is where I am at right now. I have tried to include all the information possible. Please ask me if any other information is needed.
Last resort ... try a warranty replacement.
Is the phone experiencing the same issues with other wireless networks (coffee shops, McD's)?
[Fixed]
The issue was not with the phone, but with the router/modem. This was the century link modem with wifi and router from walmart that was bought for $99. Its an actiontech router with built in modem for century link. This does not work and dont bother purchasing it. I ended up buying the NETGEAR DGND3300 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router with Built-in DSL Modem from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001UHMB5O/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00) for a 30 dollars more, but it works. Only extra step was that i had to call century link for my username and password that needs to be entered during the setup procedure. The actiontech from walmart did this automatically (mainly because this was a century link branded product).
hey guys how ya'll ?
i've been facing this wifi issue from over 3 days now :/
my note2 gets connected to my wifi network with ease no problems at all , but i cant browse the internet . It'll never open any website neither the default browser nor any others . I am not able to access play store too . Although whatsapp is working perfect . Facebook (app ) and messenger ( app ) are also working fine . I am able to send and receive mails . Its just the problem with browsers and play store :/
I've already tried many things :-
Clearing the cache
Rebooting the device for over 50 times
Restoring browser's default settings
Forgetting the wifi network and starting from the scratch :/
When I connect my phone to any other wifi network it works totally fine or when i connect it to my dad's iphone via tethering :/
please help me guys
Thanks
Try-
Disabling PSM, *#0011# > Menu > WiFi > PSM off.
Connecting via WPS.
