[A] Can We Get Sense 3.0 on Epic 4G?

I resently saw HTC's Sense 3.0 on my freind's rooted MyTouch 4g and it was too amazing. It made me wonder is it possible be to get Sense 3.0 on a Epic or no?

Get an HTC phone with it, and you will have it everyday!

You may want to ask this in the Galaxy S Android Development (and Or Nexus S) because they have more devs and then maybe we can port their Sense 3.0 ROM

Yepp, and righ now we no haz the manpower to do it. I mean we could, but all of the devs we have are busy on other roms. We don't have any devs looking for somthing to do..

Even for experienced developers it's a pretty serious undertaking, you would have to write the drivers for the entire Rom.

It sounds like @ahmgsk_mod is gonna work on it after MIUI, but it's not even alpha yet. It says on his twitter

Sounds like he may have resumed developing then, which is fantastic for the Epic community since we have very few devs.

Hmm, yeah see... about that whole writing drivers thing... lol that would take a lot of time to learn. I mean midNight rom amazes me and I actually am starting to try other roms out to see what i like best. midNight is still my fave! And I definately support his cause. Next on my list is a custom splash that I would like to make myself.
EDIT: By the way, not saying i wouldnt want to learn how to write drivers, but I am FAR from being ready to dev.

Today I was playing with my buddy gnex and I found an intrstng thing.
If u go to settings >about phone and then tap on Android Version repeatedly a lil android robot comes up and on a long pressing on that robot it will act something funny..
I thought many users are unaware about this ,that's why I m sharing it with my xda fellow members.

I'm pretty sure you saw this online. You don't randomly find this and automatically know what to do. This has pretty much been floating around (no pun intended) since the first Galaxy Nexus rom leaked. Thanks anyway.

Biggeron there is no need to be like that, I mean, he asked in the right section and it a legitimate question. I myself have wanted to start developing but I have no programming experience so I didn't even ask. In terms of the ops question, I'd either get on irc and start talking to developers, or use one of the many kitchen tools to start. Also if you don't know java or a similar programming language, I'd start there.

To be fair there is something up with this OP. He has posted in several places about updating from DK18 to EL30, then asking "what's the best EL30 ROM" You all know I love those, and all of a sudden is in the thick of CM9 running it and commneting on it....now that is some hell of a learning curve for 2 days.

That's a bit out of line sir and improper usage of the Google define parameter.
XDA is a great place to ask questions and you should ask as many as you like....after you have made a substantial effort to help yourself first. Forum 101 you might say and something that would have been force fed to you upon account creation here. ESL or not the message would have been undeniably clear. True I asked noob questions but I didn't go around posting retarded stuff.... when clearly the answer could have been googled.... and by the way I think my thanks and how many people I've helped overthrow how many people I "might" have offended/bashed according to you I go around raising hell on n00bs because they're a disease....not true I answer most questions that have been multiposted at least 10 times before..

Update: We’ve heard back from Samsung and it looks like the rollout will start later this week: “The ICS update will be available this week and will continue rolling out to devices and carriers throughout the quarter.”
I guess you have to wait, or you might be in luck and get it.

These people just keep making these stupid threads. Can we not comprehend/understand that there is already a thread for ICS talk?

Nobody would notice it inside pages and pages of that ics thread. And yes you can use it on t989 when its released.

That thread was created for all ICS talk and speculation. And the rogers official isn't even out yet.

Telus is the only Canadian carrier to carry the S2 X.

Nice I wonder if their pics build is better than at&T's I'm guessing it is with less bloat

I've done it for a few years (23 on & off fwiw). It's not a fun task balancing what the users want vs what's actually good for the community vs what generates revenue.
Honestly though, it's mostly busywork taking care of reported threads. j/k

Yet another ics thread, guess some people are better than others and are subject to ignore what's been said a million times.
Anyway ics been running on the T989 via SR leak for a while now... Its not even that serious anymore

Yes, this forum is just awesome, and my experiences with moderators is that they are really nice and cooperative. The information here is overwhelming.
I understand the "noob restructions" and that there is no better way to keep this forum clean and manageable.
Just... why do these rules have to be applied to ME? ;-)
For me, it is hard to reach the 10 postings because I am almost exclusively reading in devs forums (I am a dev but not xda). Since I am not able to post there, I have to write dev-related postings elsewhere (where the people who might be interested in the posting usually don't find it). This is not meant as a complaint. Just feedback from a noob.
Anyway, soon I will get there (this is posting number 7)...
One idea for the 10 posting rule: The number could be lower for people after some membership time, for instance, 10 postings for fresh members, 6 postings after 1 month of active membership, 3 postings after 2 months of membership. Just an idea...

too much info to be honest. and a lot of it out of date.
i've had to ask numerous times in a 400+ page 2 year old thread if the OP is still the way to do something

Often the best way to find this is to search, but change the sort order to favor newer posts
Though if a device is old enough to have been around over 2 years ago, the manufacturer has probably stopped updating, meaning the method has likely remained relatively still for some time...
Not always, but often must of the big work is done in the early days
