Amazon MP3 updated...finally

Amazon MP3 has an update, and it doesn't automatically start anymore. I know most of you still consider it "bloatware", but at least they made an effort.
I updated and rebooted. Sure enough, no Amazon MP3 running in the background. Nice.
New in v1.8.29:
* “Auto-resume downloads” (was “Monitor connection”) setting is disabled by default
* App no longer starts in the background unless “Auto-resume downloads” is enabled or device language changes

But it is on my G2 by default, part of the T-mobile bloatware.

You can update apps that came on the phone

how? they don't appear in the andorid market->downloads

Just downoad it from the market. If you see that you now have two amazon mp3 app uninstall the newly downloaded app. Fyi the youtube when it was first released wasn't seen as an update in the market but after installing it did appear as an update.

Search for it in the market then and it will tell you there's an update

The new market is so much slower than the old one. Can someone tell me how to delete it and install a better version of market(link please?

Settings -> manage applications -> market -> remove updates might work.

Thanks done it. I just deleted updater and flashed the zit in recovery. I didnt do the other things because I couldnt find the updater in titanium backup. I guess because I deleted it.

Strange isn't it. Mine did that yesterday too, even though I had previously deleted Market-updater.apk from /system/app
The latest version of new Market is a lot better though, especially with different DNS settings.

Nexus won't retrieve ota update for JB?

Hey all,
I've been continually checking my Nexus for the JB update and it keeps saying that my software is up to date. Its annoying. I'm rooted and unlocked but I'm running the stock rom from the Google Play Store where I ordered it. I even went as far as to restore the original recovery. Anyone have any ideas?

Right, I have the GSM model. From the Google Play Store. Bought it a few weeks back. Unlocked and all.

Go to: Settings - Apps - All - Google Services Framework. Hit "Clear data" and then check for the update again. I had to do it 7 times to get the update.

You should not be rooted and should have XXLA2 Radio and latest bootloader

[Q] App Updates not getting downloaded on WFS CM7

Hi All,
I have HTC WFS running CM7 (CyanogenMod-7-20120712-UNOOFICIAL-marvel) and facing issues with downloading installed app Updates from Play store. Play Store Version: (3.10.10)
Notification shows that I have like 10 updates available and when I select the update to download, the progress bar does nothing, no downloads.
At the same time there is no issue with downloading new apps, it gets downloaded without any isues.
Using link2SD to move stuff to SD card.
Any suggestion why only Updates are not getting downloaded?

Are you connecting to the Play Store by 3g or wireless?
If it is 3g, then it is possible that you have set the Play store app to update over Wi-Fi only. You can check this in the settings menu for the Play store app.

I am using normal mobile network, i.e. 2G network and can confirm that have not enabled update over wifi.
Also attaxhing the screenshots of the errors which says could not download app eroor 475 or something.
i have even tried uninstaling the play store updates and then clear all cache etc. so it goes back to initial market version 3.1.7 .... but after it again came back to 3.10.10.
new apps install well, only updates it does nothing.
any further suggeston please.

You can try Clearing the data for both Google Play Store and Google Play services. Then reboot.

Remove google account and then add again. It'll solve the error.

how to remove primary account?
i did cleared the cache and data for google play. do i need to wipe the phone ...
i just don' t wat wil factory reset will do on this roted phone with cm7

i had that error but its due to slow connection.once connect your phone with wifi or 3g and then download.and also if your market isnt updated so might possible you can see this error.wait for a while first till your market updated.

Slow network I can take that as one of the reason but what concerns me is that I am not able to download say a 456kb update and can download a new 4mb app.
i wil try wifi network.

its normal i think.some apps server down sometimes,so might you had problems.

Add parts of sense 7 to your EYE

Hey guys, just wanted to share a zip that has a few sense 7 apps in it. Just install like normal apks and then give your device a reboot! When new versions are released your phone will automatically update them as well!

Hey bud. I downloaded and tried to install them but I saw that these apps are the same version number as the updates we received from play store a couple days ago. I installed them either way and can't remember if is there a difference between them or not lol.

Well that I couldn't tell you, I installed these about a month ago. Did you already have the theme app? From the base SD Rom I installed these and it was a clear night and day difference.

Yeah it was a pretty big difference after the update, themes app came with sense home update. What I couldn't see was if was there a difference between the apps I had updated from play store and the ones I installed from your post.
