As long as you aren't flashing the bootloader you should be able to restart. I suggest you flash only the rom and kernel individually to minimize potential problems with the phone shutting off.

I was using odin to flash something onto my epic, but me being a dumbass didnt uncheck repartition, which i heard is a death button, are there any fixes for
my late samsung epic? which will not turn on, or get into a download mode :/
i bought this august 30th last year, no extended warranty can i still call sammy?
Good luck man! Have you tried pulling the battery for a few minutes, up to a few hours? Then try putting it into download mode again...

Just picture me as a little bald boy holding a spoon...
There is no button.
Keeping the battery out for a while might work.
I've also heard that you can "jump start" your phone by taking the battery out and plugging in power while the battery is out, getting it to boot that way, then putting the battery in while it's on. That may only apply to a fully discharged battery, but if your phone is truly dead it's worth a try.
With the battery out, plug the phone into a computer and try to get into download mode. If you can you should be able to start Odin and even pop the battery back in.
maybe i'm missing something here,
but i thought you were supposed to check the re-partition box when ODIN back to stock.
Or at least, that's what i do everytime i odin back to stock and my phone is fine.
Dang it. There really is no button!
Repartition isn't something you want or need to use regularly, but it shouldn't cause problems like you describe unless you used a pit from another phone or something... sounds more like it was interupted during flashing of boot.bin or param.lfs or something...

It doesnt matter if the rom is in the internal or sd unless dev says something about it in op. As far as your brick, im not understanding fully what you mean

Do you want help or not? The E4GT is a very difficult phone to brick and 9 times out of 10 when a noob thinks their phone is bricked, it's actually easily recoverable. But if you don't help us help you, you might as well just toss the phone down the garbage disposal.

I had this issue when I was running FI27 roms.
My setup was Lightweight V0.2 with Agats 6.5 source kernel. Ktoon governor seemed to be a large chunk of the problem.
My solution was installing a rom that wasn't based off FI27, in my case I went with the most recent update of Re-Caulked.

No you don't have to root the phone to flash anything with Odin.
Download an unrooted tar or one click ROM.
Press and hold volume down and power from the phone being off.
You are now in download mode, open Odin or the One Click.
Plug your phone into USB attached to your computer.
One Click, click start.
Odin, click PDA then select the tar, start.
Wait while the firmware is flashed.
Profit.

Its not his power button. If it was he would also be complaining about power button issues.
FI27 DOES have stability problems. I don't know what the exact cause is, but flashing to an FI25 based rom SOLVED my random reboots. My phone has not been running for nearly 48 hours without a single reboot or freeze up.

Back up what you need to and try an Odin full restore like FI27. Includes a repartition so should wipe out any trace of the problem.

Get into download mode using VolDown + Power + Home
The cool thing about download mode is that there is no special time to release the buttons, it should just boot up to download mode.
Once you think you're in download mode
Click the volume down once again.
(This should be done while connected to a PC running ODIN)
Check to see that Odin has recognized your phone. Stick the stock unrooted ROM in the PDA section of Odin and flash away.
:trooper:
Wouldn't you trip the flash counter if you rebooted your phone while rooted? If this is for a warranty replacement then it might not work.

Awesome idea! Its on CM10.1 ROM so it doesn't make ripple sounds. It does ring for calls and texts BUT I've tried swiping it to answer a call and that doesn't work..so digitizer and LCD must be out..

When you plug an mhl adapter in does it automatically mirror what's on the screen?? Idk how I'd do that and use a mouse. Might be impossible if the digitizer is completely out..

I am more inclined to believe that it might work even with your digitizer out. I'm no going to lie and say I know for a fact. I don't know how you would setup a bluetooth mouse to control it, though, without having a screen to touch and set it up. Hmmm.
Also you would have success with MHL on stock. Aosp ROMs don't have quite the success stock does with MHL

and i dont know if that MHL adapter would operate correctly via a usb hub connected to the S3. if it did then that gives you a couple other usb ports to use a mouse and whatever on. just spit-balling here.

Hello!!
Thank you for answering this thread. I apologize for any newbie mistakes.
I have a TMobile Galaxy S3 that is rooted. Recently, I broke my screen. It is completely black. The touch screen feature still works, as does the rest of the phone. I need to get the phone warranty ready. I've got an mhl cable and can view the screen on my TV. I got triangle away from the play store ($2.50, totally worth it if I can get the phone fixed). I was able to run it using my TV and good aim on the touch screen.
I down loaded Odin 3.07 and the firmware from Sammobile.
If I connect the phone into the computer, I have to disconnect it from the TV.
I'm having trouble reaching download mode blind. That is, I don't know if I've reached it and I can't tell if Odin sees it.
Could someone please give me a step by step to get into d/l mode?
How long should I hold the buttons down for?
When should I feel a buzz? How many buzzes?
when should I hit volume down?up?
How long should I wait for Odin to recognize?
I read somewhere that the Superuser app can unroot for you as long as you use triangle to reset the binary counter. Is this true?
Thank you, for all your help!:fingers-crossed:
