Hi
My phone needs almost a recharge everyday, but now on work I can recharge for free I think
Don't want to use the stock one, can I use a stock USB charger?
It needs to be build well, especially the cable and connector, because I will put it in my bag and not really care it very well
Also one thing: I don't want an extra usb cable, just a wall connector with cable and micro-usb port.
BTW: I live in Belgium
Suggestions please, and I dont want to pay a lot for it
EDIT: what about this: click!
Should it work on WFS? For this price, I would like to buy it (use google translate to understand)

Because of the standardisation of usb, any charger *should* work. You want a "Schuko" style plug right?
But you should make sure that it's 5v and between 500 -1000 mA. It should be anyway but it's safer to make sure
Sorry I can't link you to a product.
Edit: Found the sort of thing which you're looking for on dealextreme (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/mini-power-adapter-charger-with-dual-usb-ports-100-240v-eu-plug-48851) but that isn't really ideal since they're based in hongkong and it would take absolutely ages to get to you.
You'd be better off search for a "EU usb charger" on local shopping sites. Do you have anything like the Belgian equivalent of something like ebuyer.com?
Edit2: You didn't originally specify for a charger with an attached cable. Well anyway, you would want to find something like this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Mic...HJSK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330977286&sr=8-1) but with of course a socket appropriate for Belgium. Unfortunately since I don't live in Belgium, you're going to have to look for one yourself.
There should be plenty of choice on eBay.
I bought an OEM UK charger for around £4.

It has both AC and car DC changing built in along with multiple tips for usage with other devices. Hope it puts out enough current to properly charge the Xoom.

Edit: I see you can buy it much cheaper here:

Also, I'm not sure that it comes with the micro-usb tip. Most likely it's just a charger, not a sync cable.
Yeah, I'm almost 100% sure that won't work. For one thing, our Xooms need 12V in, not 5, and there's no way for that two-wire charging port those plugs insert into to tell it the voltage otherwise, and most of the phones out there are 5V.
Plus, our charge port is pretty non-standard; I went so far as to go to Radio Shack and try their "tree" of AdaptaPlugs, and only one of 'em nearly fit, but was ultimately too fat. Had that worked I could have bought one of their 12V/2A supplies and attached the AdaptaPlug to that, far cheaper than $30.
Ya gotta be careful, as I'm pretty sure right now only Moto/VZ have proper charging equipment for our devices. I've been looking on Amazon, and there's been vendors selling "Xoom Car Chargers" which are merely some generic charger terminatiing in a mini-USB connector; it's obvious these opportunists have never so much as picked up a Xoom.

There was a seller on eBay sellling micro-usb chargers for the Xoom.
I actually emailed him to tell him that the Xoom cannot be charged via usb.
His response was:
"Thank you. Your opinion has been noted."
I'd take it further and report him, but I'm banking on the fact that most if not all Xoom owners know that you can't charge with the usb.

I dunno 'bout that, if what I've been reading on the fora is any indication
Yeah, I canceled my order right after I did more research online. Better to stick with the motorola supplied chargers. Lots of BS suppliers out there.
I've managed to slide the 3 point UK plug off without any problems but can someone please tell me how to swap the British connection for the European 2 point plug connection please??
Hi,
That is clearly the wrong plug adapter. It looks like just a standard travel adapter that you plug the UK plug into or something (making the charger stick further out from the wall)? If anyone does know where to get proper interchangable adapters please let us know - I have the same problem with having a euro plug (which looks the same as your top one but with the bottom one's prongs) and wanting an NZ/Australia one. You can buy a travel adapter set from HTC that includes all of the plugs, but it also includes another charger and is rather expensive (http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=196228&phone=196001). It's actually cheaper to just buy one of their new style ones it seems (http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=201954&phone=196001).
Alternatively you could buy a 3rd party microUSB charger - just make sure the charger is rated for 1A or it will charge slowly.
edit: Looking carefully it looks like you might have the adapter plug for the new style charger rather than the old style charger - the plug on the picture looks rather similar
Sorry I can't be more help,
Regards,
Anthony
Ahh I see. I think I'll just stick with the 3 point plug and get another travel adapter.
Can't believe Orange have sent me the wrong kit.
Anyway thank you so much for taking the time to post. Appreciate it.
So im from India and i bought the GNex even though it hasnt been released by samsung here. Somehow, within 2 months my USB port has got fried. The local cellphone repair man says my IC needs replacement and he hast been able to find the IC for weeks now.
So rather than giving up on this baby completely, i'm thinking ill pick up an external battery charger so that i can at least USE the phone (with ever so limited functionality). Anyway, since i'm in India, ill need to make a purchase from ebay USA and i need to be sure that the external battery charger im getting is right for my phone. Ive narrowed it down to this one
http://orders.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ImportHubViewItem&itemid=200730160116
Has anyone used this one...any reviews...or any other help anyone can offer me. I bought this phone for about $400 odd and dont want to part with it this easily. Thanks!
PS: I have the International GSM version i9250 with stock battery
Have you tried charging with the pogo pins? Plenty of people have made their own pogo pin docks that work great once you enable fast charge with a custom kernel.

Nah haven't tried that. Any links/how-to's? Also, any thoughts about the external charger i've linked?

There's two ways to utilize the pogo pins. The first option is that you can actually buy/make a pogo pin dock, and in essence you just set up the dock so that the pins press up against the contacts on the phone and provide a charging current. Samsung offers the car and desktop docks to do just that, though they're really expensive and hard to find lately. If you make one yourself, you only need to connect two of the three pins, but you'll need a custom kernel in order to actually charge at 1A instead of 500mA. The other option is to connect an inductive charger to the pogo pins, and it can even be done internally if you have the OEM extended battery cover.
Several tutorials for DIY pogo pin mods are available in the DIY Workshop thread.
The external charger should work just fine. However, personally I would try to find the official spare battery charger (Samsung sku EBH-1F2SBE), just to eliminate any risk of getting something that's incompatible. Expansys has them in stock, and they even ship to India. I checked Expansys and they seem to have the desktop dock as well.
Another option may be to simply replace the USB board. If you're feeling up to it, you can read the guide here. Keep in mind that you may need to find a different USB board for the GSM version, but the procedure should be pretty much the same.
Thanks a lot guys. Im a bit sceptic about making my own charging dock but i think i'll try and replace the USB flex cable. That might help. And thanks a ton for those expansys links. They're charging $30 for shipping but at least its genuine stuff. Will report back on progress.
Cheers!
Back with more bad news it seems...
I decided to give my phone to Samsung for repair. They managed to get my charging port to work but now my mic isnt working. They said they replaced the flex cable but i really dont know what they did. I was just wondering, are the mic and usb connector assembly both on the USB flex cable? So is it possible that they used a bad part? Any other possibilities? Any help would be appreciated guys. Is it worth ordering a flex cable and getting it replaced now?
BUMP!
any help at all would be appreciated please!
Fixed!
So all that was needed was a flex cable. Ordered it, got Samsung to hook it up, and everything works! Thanks to all for the help!
I've had a mini 0806 hardwire kits (like one of these: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sop=15&_nkw=mini+0806+hardwire) powering my dashcam for a while and was quite happy with it, so I decided to get the same one for my phone mount/Qi charger and while it supplies enough amperage to light a small LED on the charger it's not enough to actually charge the phone (and the charger works just fine with alternative power supply methods including the built in USB outlet and the cigarette lighter adaptors).
So I figure it's something in the converter that my Qi charger doesn't like and I'm after a better one.
Aliexpress has a variety of the converters starting from a little over $3 for a dual USB type which would be future-proof as I'd only need to replace the cable if I'll need to switch to a type-c in the future, namely Fulree and CPT-branded boxes: http://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesa...Country=CA&needQuery=n&isRtl=yes&isFreeShip=y -- scroll down half-way thru the page.
Anyone has experience with either of those? I was thinking of ordering both and testing them out, however it's PITA for me to have them connected so I'd rather install one based on another user's feedback.
Can you guys recommend either option over the other?
Thanks!
Hey Guys,
Finally my cheap EU Adapter for the chargingplug is broken. The one i got was delivered free by honorbuy, where i bought the phone.
Can you recommend a good and stable Adapter or May be even a complete EU charger to USB cable? It would be nice IG it had a good shipping time. I feind this on amazon:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B01EN...X236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Leeco+adapter
Is this good? I dont want to damage the battery
Thanks in advance

I bought my original LeMax 2 in the US and got a USB-C charger and cable (both sides), so I had to find and deal with a wall plug replacement at home.
It's worked fine and is still working, even if the US->EU adapter is somewhat large, at least *after* I found out that I wasn't reversible (despite USB-c) at the charger side (but reversible at the phone side).
Le next (sorry but 'le' is 'the' in French and it's soundy very silly to say 'the Le') Max2 I bought for my son and that came with a US charger, a flimsy US->EU adapter and a USB-A to USB-c cable: That charger and the phone no longer seem able to negotiate proper voltage levels, but the problem seems to be more with the cable, as it works with another USB-A to USB-c cable. This original cable is a bit odd anyway, as it is actually reversible at the USB-A (non-c) side.
Since I wanted to cut down on the risk of electrocution and my son borrowing my charger I bought him an Anker QuickCharge 3 compatible charger from Amazon (https://www.amazon.de/Anker-PowerPo...79601842&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+quick+charge+3). Works perfectly and very quickly.
And then I went full steam ahead and bought another Anker charger to consolidate my sockets, since I have quite a few Androids and was running out of outlets (or rather daisy-chaining extension chords and sockets to nightmare levels):
https://www.amazon.de/PowerPort-Hoc...79601842&sr=8-5&keywords=anker+quick+charge+3
This one is a bit pricy but allows for quite a bit of consolidation, while it also offers at least one QuickCharge port.
And once you've tested QuickCharge, it's difficult to go back
It's full metal and feels very solid. Hopefully it also doesn't waste power unless it is actually charging.
Ask me again in a year or two if they fulfilled their quality promises without killing any phone or tablet
