Power + Home Screenshot Function - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I've seen this be a trend for a few mo.tbs now, but I have never been able to get this to work, on any rom. Is there some sort of magical trick or way to push those two buttons to make it work? I swear, I'm not an idiot... I've tried every way I could push those buttons together, but it never works.

Slightly hold the power button for about half a second and whilst holding said power button, hit the home key. It's kinda tricky at first, and then you get real used to it.

This doesn't work on stock 2.3 dInc2 right?

Go figure, it works in one of nit's roms.
Thanks guys. I had tried it in MikRunny and several others, but it works on Gingerbang Sense M.

The screenshot method, power button + home button, now works on the DINC2 with stock ROM, OS 2.3.4. Just upgraded to the lastest firmware.

That would be a VERY useful hack! Except the power key is on the left in landscape mode.

Vol up would work better imo, I think one of the roms has it. I think starburst.

[FB17 SCREENSHOT] HOME+POWER or VOL DWN+POWER - Your Choice!

So most of you know what Vol Down + Power is the screenshot when you hold it. Well it looks like they kept the old Home + Power as well, just hold them and it does the same thing rofl.
Home + Power didn't work for me when I was running the rom. Volume down + Power did however. Holding home+power would just bring up either the new task manager or it would do something else. Maybe another quirk with the build?
I hold either or on FB17 and it does it.

OK the trick is pressing them at the exact same time, not one before another. Press and hold.

definetly not as smooth as on GB. took me a couple tries to get it going. I actually thought this feature was removed at first cause it is so picky but thanks for the info! now I know I just need more patience.

It's actually smoother than gingerbread, I think most people are trying to tap them together but you have to press and hold both buttons until it snaps.
I like this new way better and also like using power + v. down. Easier to manage imo.

Ics screenshots: You take them with power + vol -

Can people bump this so that more people know?
Its infinitely easier than having to press power + home. Thank god they changed that.
To be fair I learned it really easily. I just googled " how to screenshot ICS"
You can also hold power and home for a second or two.

Sometimes it doesn't work when you first flash the ROM. I had that issue no matter how long I held down either combination it wouldn't take the screenshot, did a full wipe again and flashed the same ROM fixed it for me. But manly I think people don't know that they now have to hold the combination down for a second or two.

[Q]Apps for waking a phone with a broken power button?

So my power button is fried, and my replacement gets here on Monday, but I cannot live with a broken power button. So, any suggestions for app(s) that wake the phone using the volume key or something?
Bump. Need some help. D:

I'm running cm10 and under Settings» lockscreen» Screen Security there is an option to unlock the screen using the menu key (hard key on far left). Just tried it out, works flawlessly. Unfortunately I can't help you find the app you need and flashing a rom without using the power button may be problematic. Best of luck to you!

I would love to get CM, but the only problem is that since my power button is stuck, it's gonna be a pain to flash. And, not only that, as it is right now, since my power button is stuck, I was able to put it into ODIN mode and restore to stock unrooted to take it in, but I'm afraid that I might flash, and then the power button magically un-sticks, and then I'm screwed, cause I can't unroot it. Anyways, just today and tomorrow left, so not so bad. I actually think I can take it.

Just press power and home button in the same time and hold it for 3 seconds in 4.0.4 tw roms. Simple
If you get the task manager thing, that means your doing it wrong and not pressing it in the same time.

Obviously this guy can't read... but if he did I would like to know how he got the power button or the home button to lower the volume
Sorry I just rush read. I figured you'd mention Vol - and Power. But the new bottons worked. Thanks for the help and my apologies for the mistake.
