So most of you know what Vol Down + Power is the screenshot when you hold it. Well it looks like they kept the old Home + Power as well, just hold them and it does the same thing rofl.
Home + Power didn't work for me when I was running the rom. Volume down + Power did however. Holding home+power would just bring up either the new task manager or it would do something else. Maybe another quirk with the build?
I hold either or on FB17 and it does it.

OK the trick is pressing them at the exact same time, not one before another. Press and hold.

Yup home and power work on calks fb17

definetly not as smooth as on GB. took me a couple tries to get it going. I actually thought this feature was removed at first cause it is so picky but thanks for the info! now I know I just need more patience.

It's actually smoother than gingerbread, I think most people are trying to tap them together but you have to press and hold both buttons until it snaps.
I like this new way better and also like using power + v. down. Easier to manage imo.

For example :
Home and power button at the same time = screen capture

Indeed. Aside from the boot combinations that's about it.
Epic-ly tapped from my Galaxy SII
Hold search button for voice commands.
Now we're done
well if were gonna go there, hold home for recent apps
and i wish holding back would kill current app like in MIUI
Menu key opens menu (in apps that support it).
The volume rocker obviously controls the volume... And if you hold the volume down it puts your phone on silent with vibration.
Lol... Now were done here.

I did this while trying to respond to this post and my phone suddenly rebooted. I'm not sure what I did wrong
Home brings you to the home screen when in an app.
And we're done
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
volume up and power until phone turns off and go into recovery
volume down and power until phone turns off and go into odin
now are we done?
Some ROMs allow for holding volume buttons to change tracks. I think we're done now ;p

Well, if you're going to get into the soft keys, holding Home brings up recently used apps and task manager. hold the search brings up an app selection including Sound hound if you have it installed.

Does anyone know if there is a way to manually assign something to a long menu press on stock? I know you can do it with CM7, but I haven't found anything for TouchWiz.
If your phone is on and you have cwm installed you can press and hold the power and volume buttons together and it will take you straight to recovery.

I've tried every combo ever and I can't get it to screen shot...I'm on the epictouchasopmod ics rom has anyone got screen shot to work?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I am on it also. Everyone keeps coming in and saying the same thing about every ICS leak and every ICS leak rom.
It is Vol Down + Power.
If you trigger the screen off or the volume slider you failed to press the buttons correctly and at this point you have failed it will not work until the screen is cleared. You have to try it again.
Nearly everyone with this sort of thread figures it out sooner or later.
You have to press and hold volume down + power for a couple seconds.

I just took the leap to try out ics and i can take screen shots with power + vol down and power + home button. Just make sure that whichever way you choose to do it you hold both buttons down for a few seconds.

Hey your right the old combo works on fc22 never tried.
Well i never saw anyone mention this here so here goes. My phone froze on me out of nowhere and i was being too lazy to pull out my case + batt cover to remove the batt so i tried different button combos till i found one that worked! Holding power + Vol up for about 10 seconds reboots the phone! Once it started back up i tried it again n phone rebooted
Edit: I'm on sfhub's oneclick FC22 ics. Not sure if its exclusive to this build so i suggest testing it out and letting me know if it works on other builds as well.

I noticed it but I passed it off as something i had just never tried before lol.
You can just hold the power button...
Had it happen to me a couple of times. You don't have to hold vol +, just hold the power button down and it reboots the phone

Not new but thanks for sharing
Just hold power to reset.
Wow lol.. hold power button down will reboot phone. Power and vol up will get you into recovery if you hold it longer

Ics screenshots: You take them with power + vol -
Can people bump this so that more people know?
Its infinitely easier than having to press power + home. Thank god they changed that.
To be fair I learned it really easily. I just googled " how to screenshot ICS"
You can also hold power and home for a second or two.

Sometimes it doesn't work when you first flash the ROM. I had that issue no matter how long I held down either combination it wouldn't take the screenshot, did a full wipe again and flashed the same ROM fixed it for me. But manly I think people don't know that they now have to hold the combination down for a second or two.

O.O So I found this out when I was inserting my SD-Card into my Galaxy Gio.
Then I accidentally pressed the following buttons:
Power Button + Home Button
O.O
But not at the same time! Power button first, then press the home button!
Ahahahaha
This was on STOCK Gingerbread 2.3.6
Home button + back soft key with Froyo and Gingerbread (2.3.3, 2.3.4)

But if you press home first it would make you go back home.
Where as, when you press power first, there's a delay and then quickly press home to screensot. Or not you lock the phone.
LOL
