I would like to know which app is causing it to stay on

More than likely its BC you have it set for GPS to automatically detect your location...

[Q]CM7 geolocation issue

Hey all. So I live in Milford CT, yet no matter what I do, the location features of this phone continue to put me in Mastic, NY. When I use my GPS on Maps, everything is fine. But all of the apps and websites (Google, Facebook, Beautiful Widgets, etc...) keep determining my location incorrectly. I searched on Google and out here, but not having any luck. Any thoughts? Anyone else found a fix for this, outside of manually setting location?

Can't get GPS lock on GB

I was on CM7 and could not get a GPS at all. Tried DW2.6 and could not get a lock either, even with the GPS patch and standing outside. I may have seen fixes for this issue a while ago but can't find them for the life of me

Network is not required to use GPS. It is just one of your app using GPS to determine ur position such as weather app, map etc

Anyone else having issues with GPS in NYC?

I haven't been able to get a gps lock since yesterday after using navigation on my phone. Any time I open an app that uses location services gps will kick in and will stay stuck on searching for location
Not sure if this is a widespread issue or something wrong with my phone

I guess the weather doesn't help things

I'll assume with all that went down there could be extra cell usage and cell towers not functioning. Cellphone GPS does use the cell towers for location.

Sprint zone GPS usage?

Does anyone know how to stop it from using gpa signals? It's using it in almost 20 minutes cycle and it also drains battery. How do you make it stop?

Is that what it is? I see GPS so often as well, if so I'll disable it since I'm rooted. How did you know it is using GPS

That's what I figured you did, just that mind never showed up there. Also I froze it and still get lots of GPS ping. In thinking it's the Google location setting.
