[Q] Hensemode - themes - HTC Wildfire S

Hi,
I'm using Hensemode ROM and I guess I can flash some themes there. I found a lot of themes in the other part of forum but could you please tell me which themes work with this ROM? How can I find it out? As I saw, most of themes work with CM7 or m1ndh4x8r-RoMs. Can they also work with HenseMode ROM? Thank you

The themes are mostly UOT kitchen themes.
Grab systemUI.apk, htcresources.apk and framework-res.apk from hensemod, and go to: here.
Download your zip file and then apply it in cwm recovery.
Other themes dont work on my themed rom, because you then lose a lot of my build in themed stuff
Clarified?

[Q] Please help, UOT Kitchen battery mod + MIUI Theme

I flashed MIUI, then applied the theme I wanted, Elite Pro HD. I wanted the SCB battery mod as well, so booted into recovery and flashed the one I made of only the battery mod, however after uploading the framework-res.apk file in the kitchen it removed practically all themeing in MIUI after reboot. After I do that, it will not allow me apply any new themes. Some icons change but nothing else, the dock icons, fonts etc all stay stock MIUI and I can't figure out why so any help would be much appreciated. Would love to be able to somehow implement the SCB mod into the theme or just make them work together.
it sounds to me like you will have to learn how to make custom frameworks if you want it all working together.
my suggestions:-
choose whatever battery you want on UOT - make it for any rom, doesnt matter you only need the files.
decompile the UOT framework - take the .png's for the battery and .xmls that control them
decompile your already custom framework - copy .xml's and .png's from the UOT framework over to it.
compile framework, add it to an update.zip and sign that.
you might want to search xda if you dont know how to do any of the above, all the info is available here
EDIT: looking at that theme it already has a percentage battery, if the .xmls are the same as UOT you could just replace the .png's in the original update and re-sign

[HELP]Porting some CM7 Themes to TW Version

Hi There Guys,
I am trying to make a perfect ROM for Android with
Check ROM and WP7 Metro UI
I've noticed that there is a CM7 Theme for Metro UI
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1219691 - WP7 Theme
But i dont know too much on theme porting and making, as far i've studied i've manage to make a simple port of the theme.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/checkrom/files/Theme/All DK Versions/WP7_test.zip/download
It's a theme test for WP7 its very buggy and confusing, but the theme system its great don't need to compile anything just put the files and the System will flash them.
If any Themer want to help me porting this theme i will be very appreciated
There is another porting ideas too but haven't started those yet.

No one want some of this themes on Galaxy S 2?
I would like it, but I don't have the knowledge to help u :/
You'll just have to open up the apps you want themed (settings.apk for settings icons, sysyemui.apk for status bar battery etc) with winrar and add and overwrite the corresponding images that you want replaced. To edit XML files for font size, color etc, you'll have to use apktool to decompile the apps first.

UOT Themes

Thought I'd start a generic thread for UOT Themes as I did a couple for the stock 4.6.8 rom. These aren't great, but at least they're a change from the stock, so maybe others with talent can do some as well.
I've attached the Red and light blue themes I've created. If you want to use them as starters, just extract the settings.uot file and go to http://uot.dakra.lt/ and choose file upload, settings to import these settings. From there you can alter the boot screens and colors as you like. You'll need to make sure you set everything for MDPI and use the framework-res.apk and Systemui.apk from your phone (or the rom you use on your phone).
The two zip's I attached are for the 4.6.8 rom, so don't use them on apex or CM7/9. You can however import the settings and use your own framework-apk and systemui.apk to make a version that works with your rom.
Please share any new themes or changes to these themes you have... They can definitely be streamlined because some of the items don't apply to our phone so more people working on these would help us all. It would also be nice to see some full non-uot themes in this forum, but this at least is a start.
Hi, man.
How can i change the lockscreen? motorola one is too ugly
select new lockscreen from uot kitchen didn't work for me
everything else work in uot kitchen i don't know why

[Q] Android themes question (very basic questions)

Hello I'm new to android. This is my first smartphone.
I had an ipod touch before , but that wasn't as confusing and complex as android is to jailbrake or install themes. Android overall is a very confusing system. It was very easy to theme and jailbrake my ipod touch.
I have been googling this question for some time and im still confused
My questions are:
How do install android theme?
Do all themes work for all phones?
Do you need a program to install themes (go launcher ex? what is that?)
And lastly are themes made for specific roms/phones.
Thanks.

Themes will be in a cwm flashable zip that you put on your sdcarx and flash in recovery.
Themes are very specific to the phone and rom that you are using. Sometimes I theme designed for one rom can work on another rom but that's certainly not guaranteed. Themes from a different phone will never work.
As I mentioned above, you don't need a specific program to install themes you just need to be rooted, which will install cwm on your phone.
You can find themes in the themes and apps section of this forum.

I just installed this amazing and fast rom :cm7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569895
And installed the Mate theme for ADW, so your saying that i don't need any launcher like ADWlauncher to install a theme? What the difference?
By the way the themes that come in .zip are complete?
Okay there's themes for the whole rom and themes for just the launcher. Themes for the launcher are found in the market and are only compatible with that launcher. Those will only affect your icons and app drawer. Themes for the rom affect your menus, status bar, etc. Now cm7 handles themes a bit differently. Cm7 themes are also found in the market (search for cyanogenmod themes). Once you download and install a theme you want, go to your app drawer and open theme chooser then pick the theme you downloaded and then reboot. No need to use recovery for cm7 themes.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense now
1 more question:
Do the zip themes that you need to flash in recovery don't use extra ram?
Example go launcher or adw launcher run on top of the system, while zip themes patch the system files so there is no extra service running. Is this true?

That is correct. All they do is replace the images with new themed images. No extra services running.

theme chooser to zipthemer?

Was wondering if anyone out there knows of a way to take a theme chooser (apk) theme and turn it into a zipthemer theme. I know you can extract the apk just as if it were a zip file but I don't know what images go into what packages for zipthemer. Essentially I have a theme that was free that I love but I just upgraded my ROM to pa3.94 which doesn't have theme chooser anymore so I'm hoping there's a way to create a zipthemer theme with the extracted theme chooser theme. Anyone? Thank you in advance for any help.

There are several ways to do what you want to do, regardless from the fact that I hate roms without theme chooser and I have the strong suspect that this feature or similar will be officially integrated in KLP 5.0, hopefully, but:
1) you can create a vrtheme.zip, this way you only need a deodex system/app and the images will be flashed into the apk's, so non need for theme chooser
2) an easy one is UOT kitchen, you can create a basic theme composed by framework and systemUI, ofc you want to flash the output from the kitchen with a custom recovery, so no need for theme chooser..I don't know how is the support with android 4.x.x, but since it's very popular I asuume it will support latest android release (not sure for 4.3 specifically)
3) you can use exposed framework, just google "xposed framework" it will give you a lot of results, pick up one and start learn how it works..indeed it's basically a series of modules (apk) that allow you a series of customizations, among them, theming ones (battery, background, statusbar icons..etc)
4) but I understand this is probably out of your skills (just assuming, no offence), you can theme framework and systemUI to obtain what you want..you said the theme it's free, so you can do this, but it's very complicated, it implies xml edits, not just a right collocations of png's
5) You can also build a rom from source, and cherry pick the theme chooser code both from cyanogen git or aosp git (from a rom like slim rom or purity that has theme chooser as a feature in their code)...ofc, this is a dev job, I did it once on aosp, and it's not easy at all...theme chooser is more than two apk's, it requires a lot of framework edits, both in smali code and in the apk itslef, and a series of edits in setting.apk...very long way, very complicated, results are not 100% stable if you don't know exactly what you're doing..I mention this way of obtain what you asked just for the sake of the question.
..that's all I have to share for now..I personally use (when it's needed) vrtheme system, it's fast and clean, and allows you some xml customizations, but speaking frankly I eneded up using only rom that support theme chooser. Hope this helps:good:
ps. if you need further explanations, just ask me here, I'll help you as much as I can, but for now, take a look at the links below
