[Q] wifi bug eduroam - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

my phone has difficulties with connecting to my schools network (eduroam). Its a 802.1x ttls pap network.
The phone connects, and at first the internet works. After a minute or so, the phone says it is connected, but i cant use internet. (apps/browser)
Even weirder: the phone reboots after disconnecting and reconnecting
Someone please help, its getting so annoying!

Check your baseband, I guess it ends with XXKS2.
Note the 2, not 5

Wi-fi settings

Hi there,
I have my HTC for about 5 days now and i was wondering,if you can save 2 or more different wi-fi locations.
Let me explain,
I have a wi-fi router at my home where i connect with my phone, but there is a problem, whenever i shutdown the wi-fi on or off from
my HTC and after i have connected to my password protected router all is good, the settings are saved.
But if i choose to disconnect my connection with my router first through the HTC of course and then turn the wi-fi to Off
the next time i try to connect to my wi-fi router it asks me the password again.
Why is this happening? What if i want to disconnect from my home connection and when i'll go to work
connect to my office wi-fi router without asking me this time the password for my office wifi network which i had filled in a day before...
Can somebody tell me what am i doing wrong? Why HTC doesn't keep the wi-fi passwords from my home and office wi-fi routers?
Thank you in advance,
Dinos
Why are you disconnecting the connection from the router... Just switch the router off or wifi on the phone off or just walk out of its range...
Or have I read that wrong?

Hi
Are you disconnecting from your connection first? If so that is the problem you are asking your phone to forget the WiFi connection.
You don't have to disconnect just leave it, your phone will disconnect and connect to your business one.

agree to the posts above and ofcourse if you disconnect and leave wifi on: while you are travelling the wifi will constantly search for a wifi which will drain your battery even faster.
Thank you !!!
Thank you very much for your kind help to all of you, you have been very helpful,
i have been doing it all wrong from the start, but not anymore thanks to all of you who helped me
Much obliged,
Dinos:good:
Good point about turning off the WiFi. I use tasked to disable based on phone conditions such as being connected to my car Bluetooth and which net location I am in.

An odd one

Hi there guy's and gal's
I have and odd one I have not encountered before. I have 2 wireless connections at home and when I connect to wifi 1 the phone tells me there is no connection to the internet via that AP.
Yet when I connect to wifi 2 it does not give the same message.
I have turned off the feature "warn when no internet connection"
When I connect via either wifi with mobile data turned off I do get internet, I know there is internet there so I am at a loss why the phone gives me the message saying no internet when there clearly is.
Any ideas on this or should I just live with it and keep the warning message about there being an Internet connection turned off.
I am running the stock firmware and the handset is not rooted. Is as it came to me from factory.
Thanks in advance.

Is there a solution for the wifi issue?

I got this phone and now I know about the problem with the wifi I cannot connect to any network via dhcp. The phone just keeps looping but it never gets up. I read a lot about this issue and some people is blaming the routers which is wrong. how is it possible that my pc, nexus 7, smart tv, receiver and blu ray are connected and my phone not?
I am able to connect if I put static ip. But when I want to connect to a public wifi or hotspot which requires to enter a password on a web page I can't.
So is there really a solution beside changing the phone or putting static ipĀ”

wifi connects but phone won't use the connection

Almost new FL24, rooted. Everything has been fine but during the middle of downloading an app over wifi, I had a battery failure and the phone shut down. Once restarted, the phone will connect to the wifi network but it is not able to download or connect to the internet. It works fine over the mobile network but as soon as it's connected to wifi, all data transmission stops. Any ideas?

This was just happening to me, now in my case is was my wireless router turning on and off by itself, so had to get a new one, so you may want to check that.

The network is fine. Multiple devices both wired and wireless. Everything's working pefectly except the phone.
Try it on someone else's WiFi network. Use a secured network wpa.
I encountered a similar issue with my wifi router, 2 roku's, ps3 , 2 laptops, tv and 1 other epic touch running gb. Everything on my network was aok, my epic on jb was not connecting but was visiting my friend and I logged onto his network, boom instant connection. I was also able to log into local pub using a pw.
Well, I replaced my 4yr old router with a Netgear N600 dual band, no more connection issues.

The phone connects to the network. Connecting to the network is not the problem. I can see the phone on the network when it connects. I can see the ip adress the router hands out to the phone once it's connected. When I turn off wifi on the phone I can watch it drop off the network and then watch it come back on and recieve an ip address when I turn wifi back on. It is not the network or any other network device. Thanks for the suggestions as they are appreciated but the problem is with my phone. Any other ideas?
Gee it sounds like your modem or radio got borked, try a reboot or d/l and reinstall your modem or diff modem.

[Q] WIFI connection issues - 'Failed to connect to network'

I have a Xperia S running Jellybean (4.1.2) on standard ROM, and I cant connect it to my home network.
I have a Huawei HG523a router on TalkTalk (UK) and for the last month I have had a problem where it wont connect stating 'Failed to connect to Network'. I can see the SSID and have connected by entering the WEP key and also connected through WPS.
On the rare occasion it does connect, as soon as I attempt to use the internet the WIFI kicks me off.
I now this might be an issue with my router and I have posted a similar post on my ISP forum to see if this is the issue.
If you need any info that might help or make it easier for you all to pinpoint the problem let me know and i will do my best to supply that info.
Many thanks
Make sure the MAC address filtering on the router isnt kicking you guys out of the network.
