Does anyone know why my phone has a force close on every app restored with tb when I return to a sense rom from an ICS rom. All aosp rooms restore just fine

Did you fix permissions
yup, and I tried it a second time to no avail
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA
Did you restore app+data or just apps
app plus data, there are a few apps which I would rather have the data from before like games
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA
Try restoring apps+data for the apps you need the data for like games and such
If you restore data on most items you will get a lot of fc's. I only restore data on specific programs

Thanks, I will try that but it still confuses me why it does that only on sense roms

I might be wrong but I believe this concept has logic behind it. I believe that ICS builds are backwards compatible with the data from GB builds but not vice versa. (?)
You don't want to restore app & data between sense and AOSP. With games you should be able to restore app with data, but make sure you reboot after restore. Typically, I only restore data between the same. Sense to Sense and AOSP and AOSP.

Just wanted to know if anyone else had issues with this rom endlessly force closing and rebooting until you pull battery. And if so were you able to fix or correct it?

When you flashed the ROM did you go into recovery and wipe/factory reset and wipe dalvik cache (found in advance)? You have to do that before flashing to different ROM's.
Another issue that may have caused it is if you did a restore of all your apps with Titanium Backup. I'm guessing it's the second one because that happens a lot when you overwrite apps that came with the ROM.
I prefer to redownload all my apps manually and I only use Titanium backup to restore the data portion of the app after I installed it. An example would be restoring my data for the game Angry Birds so I don't have to start the whole game all over again.
Yeah I wiped everything its not my first rom but I think it was when I did my restore from titanium backup

I'm having the same problem. If i try to restore data from a nandroid backup it either never boots or the screen stays black. I need all my backed up data so unless this get fixed i can't play with it. I was really looking forward to making that rom my daily too!
I had the same issues when i tried gengersense originally.... defiantely the titanium backup issues... i've started only using that as a good list of apps and for user data. I've used it to restore apps sometimes they don't end up working right. BTW even the synergy nightlies work well enough to be a daily... my favorite rom yet.
Plus one on the titanium.
When coming from a different rom, only restore apps and app data, kind of a hassle but dont restore settings, it jacks stuff up

I usually backup my apps and settings with titanium backup. But until now I only used sense roms. Can I restore my settings on non sense roms as well (like WiFi etc. It's a pain in the butt to enter that manually...)?

Someone knows something? Im about to Test miui

Titanium back up should restore you settings on any rom. Although miui is a completely different build I would imagine the file paths are the same.
All you can do is try it to know for sure.

No! You should never restore settings across different roms, especially from sense to non sense... it can cause you alot of problems, that has been proven on these forums... only restore apps and data.

Are you using ICS or Gingerbread based roms?
Have you tried uninstalling google maps and reinstalling it from the market?
You may want to make sure you did t remove your picotts or samsung tts files. You need to have some sort of tts on your phone for nav to work.

You might be right because when i turn on the phone after flashing something poping up and saying samsung.com/ stoped working. I don't know what exactly was it but something doesn't work on my phone. Maybe i deleted some system files by accident or something.

Hey XDA,
I was hearing stuff about moving from ICS to JB needing to be a clean move, and that you shouldn't restore any data from ICS over to JB, cause it'll cause problems.
I do want to backup my app data, like my game saves and what not-- over to JB when I decide to upgrade.
Are there any tips or tricks to avoid messing up my JB ROM while being able to backup and restore my data from ICS to JB?
Thanks in advance,
-J
Bump ;3
Not sure really. If the apps themselves are updated to the latest version they should be fine to restore through tibu. You can always nandroid your both ICS with your apps, or JB before you try tibu, that way when you try tibu you'll be able to revert back easily if it does in fact screw anything up. Worth a shot of trial and error, though I believe you should be OK so long as you don't do system apps.

Back on my Atrix I dirty flashed JB right on top of ICS and nothing bad happened. So I'm assuming carrying over user app data won't cause big problems.
What is the best way to restore data backup from a tw rom without getting a bunch of force closing. I know about restoring apps with data from TB but I rather restore my entire setup. With having to set up my screens all over

Restoring screens and settings is always problematic, especially when going between ROM types (TW and CM10).
Best case for restoring screens is using a launcher that allows you to back up the home screens.
Restoring settings is best done manually.
Restoring apps can use TB or Mybackup root, or any number of other backup apps.
