Hi, i have installer Cyanogen 7.2-022412 rommod and i have a few problems using the radio application (it seems to be the MIUI version).
- When i first start the application without headset plugged, it enables bluetooth then plays 1/4 of second of high volume white noise from the phone speaker.
- Once today the radio played full volume on headset until i have unplugged it.
- with a volume of 1-2 ticks, it's alreay too loud.
- afaik, no rds support.
Is there a way to maintain Cyanogenmod and install original samsung radio application? it's the only app i miss from original samsung rom, or is there a better/working fm player app around?
Thank you
Jack
Hi, I have that problem too. That noise make my ear deaf In previous release it happen to me too. I don't know how to maintain that, you can ask the devs directly. But, if you want to use original samsung radio, you can try by push fm radio apk (original ones) to system/app and delete the cyanogen one, but I've never try this method, as I rarely use fm radio.

Hi, thanks for your answer, do you know how can I extrackt the fm radio apk from original firmware files?
The most i can have is the .tar.md5 file, which contains a system.rfs file, which i suppose contains the file system... how can i mount it?
Thank you
Jack

I autoreply to myself because I was able to mount it with a simple
sudo mount /path.to.file/system.rfs /target -o loop
Now i have FmRadio.apk (561k) and FmRadio.odex (226k)
I'll try to install it!
That shouldn't (and most probably won't) work as stock ROM is odexed while CM is deodexed. Still good luck here

it's no use, because of the different framework.
失败的中国人正在尝试提高!
ArpegGioMod, contains an already deodexed FmRadio.apk inside the zip file. It'll save you the trouble of doing it yourself. But I can't guarantee that it'll work with CM7.
Most stock Samsung apps won't work on CM, because TouchWiz framework is missing. But I'm wondering why modders don't try to port those apps...
I don't know how to make multiquote on this forum, anyway i was unable to put the original apk+odex in the correct folder: i had to wipe all filesystems because everything crashed ciclically on reboot... at least this tought me how to make backups from recovery......
Now i'm downloading ArpegGioMod to extract the APK and try to install it, but i'm quite hopeless.
Thank you all
Jack

In several places in the forums I see DSP manager mentioned as a way to change the sound output from the phone.
It is possible to use the .apk file or flash the .zip file to a stock firmware that is rooted (no other changes), or does it have to be applied to a custom rom?
Ta.
Here you go...
http://www.multiupload.com/7VS5O9KKQ0
Flash as you would a ROM
Hmm, I flashed it and the settings appeared, but they seem to make no difference to the sound output!
Trying via headphones? As I doubt you'd notice from the internal speaker
Other than that I can't help, have no issues personally
Yep, trying via headphones. Seems to make no difference at all. I am running a stock rooted HTC Rom.
Hi, I flashed the DSP from recovery and rebooted. Installation was successful but I can't find the app anywhere in my phone? where do I see it?

For anyone else having this problem:
I didn't find the app I installed so I searched the net for other installation files, and found this:
h ttp://androidforums.com/1446319-post107.html
after I flashed this and rebooted, I got a 'force close' notification for the app. Than I went to /system/app/DSPManager.apk and installed it.
DSP Manager now working great ^^
I did as u said but it gives me a force close and when i try to install it i cant cause its already installed, cant uninstall it either, what should i do ? BTW I'm using AuraxTSense v7.4
did you install the one in the second post as well?
I'm using AuraxTSense 7.0
Yes, first I installed that one, it didn't work, then I installed the other. Is that the problem ? I thought so... so how should I fix it ?
good question..I'm not sure.. try installing the first again
Ok I did it, it removed the app from the app list. What now ? If I try installing it from /system/app it gives an error.
I don't know.. i just rebooted my device and it gave me the force close again. so I did what I did the previous time and ran that app from the location I wrote.. worked like a charm.. again..

I installed the other zip again, gave me a force close so went to system/app and tried to install it but I can't, only have the options uninstall and launch... No idea why is it working for you and not for me...
EDIT: Ok it works now, had to remove first the odex file and install the other zip again
Update DSP Manager
You can remove the DSPManager.apk file using the terminal emulator.
NOTE: You need to have a rooted phone, Superuser & Terminal emulator.
STEPS
1. Change to root user it is granted super-user permissions.
su -2. Then change to the system app directory.
cd /system/app3. Then move the DSPManager.apk to the tmp directory.
mv DSPManager.apk /tmp4. Move the new apk file to the system app directory.
NOTE: Change to the directory where the DSPManager_1.0.apk is.
cp DSPManager_1.0.apk /system/app5. Reboot the phone.
6. Check in the apps list and the new DSP Manager should be in there.
NOTE: If it all worked you can remove the DSPManager.apk from /tmp
rm /tmp/DSPManager.apk
Attached is the version I use on my rooted HTC Desire.
In order to work, DSP Manager also needs a file called libaudioflinger.so in the /system/lib directory in addition to the apk.
The easy way to get this done is to use an update zip for DSP Manager. Get it from one of these links (all links from this page):

I don't think you can install the zip from Astro Explorer because it needs to copy files to the /system partition which is read-only when the phone is booted up. In other words, you must have a rooted phone to do this.
If you do have a rooted phone, then reboot into recovery mode and install the update.zip the usual way.
If you don't have a rooted phone, well that's a whole different story.
i , please help me.
I've installed it via recovery and I made backup with my original needly files: libaudioflinger and libaudio. Then i copied my files back (deleted new files and moved old files) . I restarted my phone and it didn't boot. Just show me the White window (T-mobile)... Can i repair my phone by myself? Please help me and sorry for my english.

I'm sorry I don't really understand the problem. Normally, installing the update.zip should be all that you need to do. I don't understand why you copied the old files back and were those two files the only files that you backed up?
This is the same implementation as the g2 boot sound enabler with a few improvements.
i'm not responsible if you blah blah blah. don't be stupid, and don't flash things to your phone without realizing the possible risk. i haven't bricked a phone yet and don't plan on it.
DOWNLOAD:
View attachment bootsound-glacier-CM-signed.zip
MIRROR - Mediafire
This enables custom boot sounds. After flashing and rebooting you should be greeted with the all to famous "DROID" bootsound.
you will also have some new useful commands in terminal:
newbootsound - copies /sdcard/android_audio.mp3 as new bootsound
newbootanim - copies /sdcard/bootanimation.zip as new boot animation
bootsoundoff - turns boot sound off
bootsoundon - turns boot sound back on
Just files named accordingly on your sdcard's root i.e. 'bootanimation.zip' and 'android_audio.mp3'
Flash. Reboot. Enjoy.
Rom developers - feel free to include this in your builds if you so desire, please make sure credit is given accordingly to spiicytuna, mrdaviso, and myself.
if you're running a sense rom there's a totally different way of doing it so, should you be running sense... don't flash. or flash at your own risk, i can't guarantee the outcome.
untested... let me know if things go smoothly, the same process works for the evo g2 etc.. so shouldnt be an issue. make sure your media volume is up, some report if it's muted you wont hear it. (not sure about this, i guess it would be easy to test...)
Thanks this worked GREAT.
thanks worked great on cm7 rc2! so basically i can rename any sound file i want then overwrite the original? or does it have to be done through terminal? sorry for the ?? i am just learning
thanks again!
Terminal isn't required, but the sound you need to replace resides in /system/media so a file explorer with root access would be necessary.
not working?
i have tried this through root explorer and terminal. the outcome is correct in terminal... says that the new boot sound is there. I also was sure to check the volume. and still nothing? please help?
ya doesnt work on cm7 rc4 either
worked great for me ... except that the boot sound plays regardless of whether I have the volume down / muted / etc. before I reboot.
i'm on royalginger v1.5 which is based on cm7 nightly #31

cos in my researching on the boards and also the other test builds I made - #31 was the most stable overall.
Ya can't seem to get it to work. The script seem to work fine but i think im applying the Audio file wrong can someone post an example? System/media. Running cm rc4
guys here is a manual method of unlocking boot audio...I got this from an older thread that was deleted for some odd reason..
anyway I did not make this script and I do not intend to take credit, but here is a manual way if all else fails.
1. download and rename the bootsnd.txt to bootsnd.sh and NOT bootsnd.sh.sh
2. place the file in the root of your sd card
3. use root explorer to set /system to r/w
4. open terminal type: su and hit enter to gain root priv,
5. type "cd /sdcard" with out the quotes to mount the sdcard root
6. type "sh bootsnd.sh" with out quotes and hit enter wait about 10 seconds then close terminal NOTE* YOU WILL NOT SEE ANY OUTPUT or confirmation! hit enter ONLY once unless you want to eat BOOTLOOPS for breakfast
7. with root explorer push android_audio.mp3 to /system/media
8. reboot and BOOM!
this does NOT work on sense roms, only works with AOSP (any cm builds) as far as I have tested.
I have included my own boot audio its a god of war 3 overture theme portion
now that is my work as I had to chop it up
unzip and rename it to android_audio.mp3 first before pushing it
This is tutorial for how to put sound with boot animation
first download attached file bootsound.zip
then extract it
you find two files
one is bootsnd.sh put this file directly in sdcard
second file is soundatboot.zip it is cwm flashable zip so in cwm mount system and sdcard then install this zip file
then reboot
now open terminal eluminator
then type following(after each command push enter)
su
cd /sdcard (there is space after cd )
sh bootsnd.sh
reboot
now when reboot there is music with bootanimation
when want to change music rename your desire sound to android_audio.mp3 and copy to system/media/
then reboot
i have this error in terminal emulator:
cd /sdcard: not found
edited: now ok!!!! (there should be space after cd )

hello, i already followed your guide without error, but i still couldn't get any sound when booting, im using cm7 kaang beta2,
i also changed my boot animation from THIS thread.
should i change the bootanimation back to the stock animation from cm7?
oh yeah, i also tested it by putting mp3 files in the /system/media where the bootanimation also exists, still,no luck so far,
don't know where it go wrong, since i didn't get any error when running the command in terminal, and when installing the soundaboot.zip, i didn't get any error message either in the cmw

So, I tried everything you said. First time I did it, I had that bollywood boot sound. I then change it to one of my own, a .mp3 file I had converted from a .wav file; 160 kB.
But nothing happens, no sound at all. I even tried doing the whole process from scratch, including the script part. Any thoughts on this?

Hello,

Please help.

I'm working on bringing cyanogenmod to our tab s.
I need a view on a running stock lollipop rom and I need some proprietary firmware files. It would be great, if someone on a stock rom (can be roozed or xposed, that doesn't matter) could sen me a "ls -laR /system/etc/wifi /system/vendor/firmware". I need the ls output, not a filemanagers screenshot. I also need the content of the two directories. You can zip, 7z, rar or tar that two. (If you use "tar -xvzf /extSdCard/Download/proprietary.tgz /system/etc/wifi /system/vendor/firmware", you can forget about the ls output, cause permissions and symlinks are put in the tgz, on other archivers I don't know the exact switches to do so; so in that cases I need the ls output). Thank you very much in advance!

Wonderfull. Thank you so much! Would be great, if you keep a nandroid, though I'm quite sure, that we can pull the rest of the proprietary files directly from an extracted image.
I will comment on this in my thread. It is quite funny, what sammy did here...
Thanx again!
I removed Album as the default picture launcher like done by venkat kamesh (link to original thread is at the end) for other Xperia models following his nice tutorial , after installing you can choose which app will be used for opening your pictures out of the camera.

On my device it works without having the oat-folder and as far as I know the oat-folder won't be created again, because the apk is deodexed ...
I just downloaded my file again and did the whole process again and it still works .
Did you do it (copy the file and set the permissions) via adb?
Could you try it again?
md5 is: 43774a75b358b255ca629c0bfd56e289
md5 is correct, I set permissions with total commander, I did it with root explorer too, the permissions are correctly set (rw-,r--,r--) but camera app is nowhere to be found ... I will try with adb and see
The camera is missing after I did this.
Tried it on Marshmallow, can you help bro?
Followed the instructions carefully. Thank you
Tried via adb, doesn't work as well.
Upon checking the file SemcCameraUI-generic-xhdpi-release.apk its still my default apk and not the one i pushed with adb (the one i downloaded here), the oat folder was still there as well. Pretty sure I deleted it via adb as well and no error showed up.
Update: Tried it again via adb, this time SemcCameraUI-generic-xhdpi-release.apk pushed properly with correct permissions and oat folder deleted as well. But the camera is now missing again. Any ideas? Thank you

Hello, what about using Xposed to create a module like the one working for Lollipop?
it would be a lot easier for people instead of replacing files, messing with odex files and It could probably support all the MM releases. If i have some time i could try to do it, but i'm not as skilled as you.
Apart from that, thank you a lot for the work! I've been searching this since ever.
